Feb. Contest:

We are not certain if there will be any more prizes for the poetry contests.

Here is the question:

Would you still do the contest in Feb. even if there were no prize?

 no it will not be for Valentines day damn it

NOTE: Please don't vote NO if you would not participate either way, only if the elimination of the prize would stop you from playing.

I'll be there.

Its not going to be a cupid type contest with hearts and candy
and all that stuff is it?

Absolutely! I love the anonymity of it. I'd like to see Lit have an option for submissions to be "anonymous while new" in order to get feedback that was less influenced by personality/popularity -- poems AND stories.

Ah! I would love to write for a contest (prize or not). I just need some guts <blush>

Whether or not I ever participate in anything is entirely dependant on how cooperative the words are on a given day. And even then, I generally just participate in the privacy of my own lil world. ;)

Adding my vote to the Hell Yeah pile. Although I won't participate in the next, since I'm one of the behind-the-scenes tinkerers this time. :)

ditto. :)

Instead of a gift certificate, we can try some other things. Maybe an interview with the winner. I think most poets love to talk about what inspired their poem. I used to use interviews and featured their poems as a prize on my site.
The winner can have his/her own sticky for a month. :) Poets love attention!

I would participate again whether there was a prize or not. Assuming I had time to write a poem that fit the bill.

I refuse to comments on the similarities between sitting next to Eve and having a " sticky"

Sticky thread!
The winner can have that and the book. Look a few posts up.

among other things. it is a very versatile word. :)

i think eve meant a thread that remains at the top of the thread page.......but i'm not positive that was what she was referring to. :)

Looks like there might be a few sticky threads in that AV too

I'd have to hide the book when my mom came over

I only have wholesome thoughts. Sticky means a thread, or sticky buns (food), or sticky fingers (thief), sticky seat... well, it can happen if you sit down right after... never mind. Wholesome thoughts.

I give up. Other people can say sticky and it's not naughty! Sticky, sticky, sticky! And if no one wants my sex, then fine! (note: sex book.)
