Karlie had a long day at work and even though there were still 2 more hours left before she could leave, she really wasn’t looking forward to it even though it was Friday evening. If it was any other Friday, she’d be excited to leave work with her friends as they always went out after work for happy hours. Apparently all of her friends had plans that evening and it was a last minute thing. It came to her knowledge during their lunch hour.

She had few envelopes in her hands as she stepped out of her office to drop it off in the delivery room. She wanted to get it out of the way so it could be on transit without delay, given the last deliver leaves the office building at 5 pm. She even texted few of her college friends, who were obviously married, to see if they wanted to go out tonight and if they would say yes, it would be awesome.

Thinking about how it wasn’t just Friday but the whole weekend. It was hard to stay home and NOT do anything when you whole week was busy. The slow pace and she…never went together. She liked to keep up busy with work and having to do something to pass the time. Apparently, she didn’t have a boyfriend and she didn’t need one. She was glad that she didn’t have the baggage like some of her friends did. She couldn’t be happier.

Last few relationships, she hated them and the fact that at some point, she had to pretend to be happy when she only felt like a trapped little bird. Major reason why it didn’t work out was because she found the sex life very lame. She felt as if she was in her late 20s, which shew as, while the guys couldn’t love her like a real man would. She totally gave up on having a decent relationship and just last weekend, she and her friends were talking about how she needs a fuck buddy. Sure, like that was going to happen?

She stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for basement. That’s where the delivery room was located for the whole building. She a nice little white top, tucked into her khaki skirt that came to her mid thighs level. One thing for sure, she liked to keep herself up to date with latest fashion trends. She also had a black knee high boots that completed her casual work outfit. She had her phone beeping back and forth as she was texting with her friends from college, inquiring about what their decision was when the elevator door opened and a guy entered. She had seen him around the place so she smiled and said hi. Just then, she got a text from her friends, telling her it’s a no and that they can’t make it. She could see the number in electric panel descending from 24 to zero. She wondered if she should ask he wanted to join her for an evening out for happy hours. After much debate, she realized she didn’t have time. She was 99.9 % sure that he would say no but she asked him anyways, “Hey…so I was wondering….to go out for few drink. Well I am. Just thinking if you want to join me at the bar for happy hours?” There she asked him she told herself as she leaned to the side, looking at him, waiting for a no.

Derek Rose was done for the day. Done for the fucking week. Four cases, all criminal and he was defending the wrong damn side. One of the picks had stabbed his own wife over burnt pasta. Derek hated being a criminal defense attorney. He absolutely hated it. But it was what he had to do.

Having only graduated law school six months ago, criminal defense work was all he could do until he built a name for himself. His boss told him in criminal defense, it wasn't winning cases because your clients are scumbags and fuck them, it was HOW you made your case. Derek had to show a bright mind and the ability to think outside the box before he would earn the right for different case work.

Derek wanted to be a real estate or asset management lawer. Working for celebrities and athletes. That was the dream.

Fuck it though. It was Friday. He was finished and he had won two of his cases. The stabbing guy got 15 years which Derek had reduced to 14 just to make it look like he tried. And the last guy who robbed a bank got life in prison with parole possibilities in 30 years.

Now it was July 4th weekend and he was gonna go get fucking hammered. He wished he had a girlfriend still, Julie had been a very pretty little blonde who cut his heart out by fucking his best friend. Six months ago. Fuck women, fuck friends. He didn't need that shit. He only needed a Buffalo Wild Wings and a pitcher of Miller and he was fucking good.

The elevator opened and he walked in with a smile. There was a woman already in the box and he regretting the fact that he had pulled his tie up around his forehead. He kept a straight face and nodded a simply greeting at her as he stepped inside and turned toward the door.

He smiled at her and pointed at his tie, "Casual Friday."

Did she just ask him out? Who was this girl....wait....she worked upstairs didn't she? He couldn't quite place her, but hey even if he was swearing off dating, he wasn't going to turn down some company.

"Well actually that was already my plan. The drink, not the going out with you." He said with a smirk. "I'd love the company....but you have to also want hot wings. I don't do beer without hot wings. It's a rule." He suggested with a wiggle of eyebrows.

Karlie stood there with a stance; right hand on her hips and tipping on her left shoulders, over to her left to rest on the side walls of the elevator. She wanted to smile, laugh when she saw the elevator door open to a guy who had his tie wrapped around his head. She had noticed him around the café and at times, entering/exiting the building but not so much. Some of the girls even mentioned how he was cute but also a dick. He wasn’t the best when it came to girl actually was asking him out on a real date. Whether these were rumors or not, it wasn’t her concern.

She liked to be a judge on her own rather than follow the rumors blindly. It was a big firm and she was in a department that handled closing. She was one of the good closing lawyer. She passed off a chuckle hearing his comment, “I am sure…” She looked back to her phone and it was already too late to take back what she just asked him.

Cursing herself in the back of her mind for asking him to join her for happy hours at a local bar. She winced her eyes, hoping he didn’t think of this as a date date. That would be awful. She might as well bail on him if he considers this to be one. For some reason, she wanted to correct herself, “Just for few drinks. Then you can go your way and me, my way. You know….”

She really felt bad having to clear that up but it was necessary. She made an awkward face, the expression changing on her face when she heard him say NOT THE GOING OUT WITH YOU…and then cheerful expression that followed hearing him tell her he’d love her company. She perked up a little, “Hey you gotta do what you gotta do. Hot wings with beer….I am game. I am already starving thinking about it.” She said and smiled, “I guess I will meet you after work. Temptations in the downtown at 7 then?” She told him as the elevator came to a stop, “Don’t you start without me.” She pointed at him as if threatening him as she exited, looking over her shoulder with a smile on her face, walking towards the delivery room.

Derek raised an eyebrow, "Temptations? Wow you are bold. Fine see you at seven." He told her as the elevator slid to a stop and the door dinged. The sliding doors opened and Derek quickly jerked the tie off his head. He didn't expect this girl, who looked the strong legal type, to be down to go to what was basically a local only version of Hooters.

Derek may not be on the market for a girlfriend, but he was still a man, and he still loved breasts. So going to a place with hot wings, beer, and hot chicks in cleavage shirts was a fucking win-win.

Derek took the time before seven to go home to his apartment and change. In law school they teach you law, critical thinking, case management, and all that shit. What they don't tell you is how much it sucks having to always wear a fucking suit. He always felt stiff and stuck up in a suit. Even if he looked pretty damn good in it.

He felt that if was a girl at least he could have a little choice in what he wore.

Either case, he jumped into the shower washed away the lawyer sweats and then promptly dressed in a much more easy going T-shirt and jeans.

By seven o'clock he was sitting at table that faced the TV screens over the bar which had several games on. Women's World Cup semi's were going on, a Dodger game, and the waitress had a great rack. It was gonna be a good Friday night. Though the girl from the office had ten minutes to show up before Derek's thirst overwhelmed his control.

Also he should ask her name when she showed up too. He couldn't keep calling her "girl" or "Hey you."

She shrugged her shoulders, “Hey! They are going to serve you the same damn beer and liquor anywhere you go. Temptations or anywhere else…” She chuckled a bit as she exited, leaving him behind. Walking down to drop the mails and then back up to her office. The whole time, she wondered if it was a right move because she didn’t know the guy. What did she knew about him?....that he was employed by the same firm.

Though he only occupied her mind for short period of time because there was an email waiting for her attention. It was from a client she had earlier, who had turned down the merger which she really worked hard for. Apparently, the client saw what she saw in it and now was agreeing, past the deadline. Though they were old client, she decided to stay back a little to finish up. Her plans to actually go home and change were out of the window, deciding to just head to the place when done.

She made it out of the office at 6:30 on the dot. She put on her coat that matched her khaki skirt and made her way to her car, driving off to the place in downtown. She took a few minutes to adjust and touch up her make up since she didn’t have time to go home. Seeing him sit at the bar, without a beer bottle and a bucket of wings, she chuckled to herself as she approached him. She peaked her hand in on his right, “Hey you! I was just kidding about it earlier. You could have started without me. I am sorry, I got held up for a case. Hope I didn’t make you wait too long.” She said and took off her coat, hanging it on the backrest of the tall stool. She looked at the bartender approach them, looking at her co-worker, “Order away…”

Derek jumped as she actually showed up. She had a wide smile on her face as her eyes roamed over the table. She told him that he could have started without her. Derek sat back in the chair and spread his hands as she got herself situated. "I am a man of my word." He shrugged as he looked across at the rather pretty nimble little blonde sitting across from him.

The waitress came over and Derek gestured to his co-worker. "Wanna split a pitcher....or three? What do you like? Bud? Miller? Coors? Tecate? Corona?" He smiled at the waitress and said, "Can we get two pitchers to start please? Then I would like you to put a fucking pile of wings on a plate, and keep them coming until I pass out."

Derek held his hands over a pretend plate, "Not like a little pile neither, I mean like a man sized pile." He teased, knowing no matter what he was going to get the wings fifteen pieces at a time.

After the order was in place, Derek could rest easy knowing that his belly would soon be full and his head would be buzzing. "I gotta confess, and please don't tell anyone. But......" Derek leaned forward, "I have no idea who you are? You work above me though so can I guess you are a corporate asset attorney?"

Karlie smiled at him, taking a seat next to him as she crossed her legs and turned that revolving stool towards him. She was kind of glad that he didn’t order for himself yet and began drinking already. She nodded at him, “Well I am glad that you waited. Pitcher of Bud will be fine. If you don’t mind?” She said, tilting her head to the side as she looked at their bartender.

Karlie looked at how he happen to check out her breasts which was obviously on display for customers. This place was indeed famous for it. Though she took notice of her own breasts which weren’t as big but only handful, wondering what kind of a woman he was into. At times, she wondered if she should get implants but then come to think of it, she liked them the way they were, without any modification. It fit her petite frame pretty well and would never do anything to her body.

She had made up her mind long back, not caring if the guy was into her or not. He should like her the way she is, not try to change her. And that’s why the guys never lasted long with her. And then of course there were other rules…The condom rule and much more.

She smiled, watching him order his wings, cursing as he was pretty excited about his order, “Oh no! You aren’t passing out here. No way am I dragging your ass back to your place. And I wouldn’t know where you live so then I have to take you back to my place. I certainly don’t want a stranger in my place…” She cocked an eyebrow at him.

She listened to him attentively before she answered, “Karlie. Karlie Connolly and you guessed it right. I work in the merger department. But I work almost on all cases at time if I need change of pace at times. What about you? No friends? Steering clear of them that you have to let me torture you this evening?” She asked curiously as part of a casual conversation.

Derek sat back as she confirmed who she was. Karlie Connolly, he heard that name around the office before. Apparently she was like a young prodigy for lawyers. It was no wonder that she had such a case load, she was a fantastic lawyer and would probably make partner in a few years if her track record kept up. Derek was in some serious company tonight. Turns out, he might have to behave.

"Damn. I only do criminal defense. I've only been a law graduate for like six.....seven months now. I fuck hate defending shit heads." He told her. "Oh and I'm Derek Rose."

He sat back and clapped his hands as the bartender brought them the beer and two frosty ass glasses. He quickly grabbed the mug and poured Karlie a glass before filled his own. He might not want to date but he could at least still remain a gentleman. He raised his glass and damn near chugged his entire glass.

"My friends are off at some wedding. I would have gone but I had three appearances in court this week, plus true love makes me a little sick."

The bartender hadn't even walked away yet. He sighed and looked at the two women, "Uh...Let's get one more pitcher please." He said, grabbing the pitcher to refill his glass.

As the bartender left Derek shook his head. "So check this out. I have to go to court this morning and defend a guy who stabbed his wife. You wanna know why he stabbed her? Oh I'll tell you, and I quote, 'She brought me a warm beer'." Derek slapped the table top lightly. "What am I supposed to tell the judge? 'I'm sorry your honor but the bitch shouldn't have brought a warm fucking beer?'"

Derek sighed and said, "I bet you don't have that nonsense in mergers."

Karlie had no real intentions here, with him, for tonight. She just wanted to go out and have few beers. The fact that she hated going alone, she’d very much like a company. She could have come along and let some guy sweep in to strike a conversation, giving her some company but they always had one thing in mind…’How do I take this hotty home and get in her pants?’

She noticed how he perked up a little hearing her name. The firm was big and even though people don’t know who they are by their face, the name travelled fast. She smiled and nodded, “Hey…they can be fun sometimes?” She said placing her hand on his forearm to nudge him, “Well I started with criminal defense cases and moved up. Patience.” She smiled cheekily as she took the glass of beer that he poured for her and started to drink from it.

For some reason, she liked the dirty language he was using. Normally and on some people, it didn’t sound right but him, she could tolerate it. They were professionals but these outings were her way to not being one. She just liked hanging out in casual clothes and being her usual self when NOT at work.

She laughed seeing him chug down his entire glass, “Okay frat boy. In case you don’t know…I was in sorority!” She said and started chugging hers that was half filled now and pushed it towards him, “Fill me up!” she said to him as she listened to him attentively, going on about his case from this morning. She laughed out loud, “Yeah exactly that. If the judge was a male, he’d surely understand the reasons.” She said flicking her hair back and placed her palm on her chest, “You have to be kidding me? Don’t even get me started. Mergers really suck. It’s basically you play mommy for two kids. You have to make sure that both gets equal shares and both are happy. Sometimes these people fight over little things and it can get very awful. I rather lock myself with ten kids to babysit than in a room between two parties.” She said as she sipped on her beer. “Oh I am glad you bumped into me in the elevator. My friends are also out and about. Cancelled on me on the last minute.”

Derek sat back and clapped his hands as she chugged have her glass. "Not bad for a rookie." He teased, as he grabbed the pitcher and filled her glass with what remained. The bartender prompt returned with another pitcher and took the empty one.

At the same time the waitress came by with two plates of wings as well as a single empty bowl for them to dump the bones into. Derek cracked his neck and got ready to chow. "See you are lucky I am so much of a gentleman. I havent burped or darted once since you sat down. Respect for the ladies." He winked.

He was bummed about the merger news. He thought it could be better but it was also nice to see that she had paid her dues as a criminal lawyer as well. As he started chowing through wings, "I wanna do financial law. Like doing big budget contracts for professional athletes and teams. That sounds like the best stuff to me. Plus for some reason.....and don't you dare call me a nerd for this....but I really like numbers."

He shrugged, "I can't explain it. I just like math. Man I am a dork."

He smiled and grabbed his glass, "What about you? Doing mergers your goal? Or you wanna do something else. Civil attorney or something?"

She pouted her lips, making a hissing sound when he clapped his hands, “Rookie. Excuse me? Says the guy who recently graduated from a law school.” She knew he was making a remark regarding her ability to drink beer but she just had to say it as it was a good comeback. She watched him fill up her glass again and then ask for another pitcher of beer.

She pointed at the empty one, “I can’t believe we just finished one full pitcher already! Though, most of it was your doing.” She watched him pig out when the waitress brought them plates of wings, “And who told you that I want a gentleman silly?” She cocked her eyebrow and let out a girly burp through her pert lips and smiled. And this is how she was when away from work…silly and goofy.

She expressed interest when she learned how he wanted to do financial law and big contracts for athletes. She snickered a little just because he asked her not to call him a nerd but still wanted to make fun of him. “Well the big goal is to move up the ladder and someday, I’d like to see Connolly on that large wall where it says Baxter.” She cocked her eyebrow and smiled, “I know. It’s a work in pending and I have lot of hard to do but I think I will get there.” She barfed, “Ahhh enough about work already. Can you at least not be boring if you are going to be a nerd please?” She smirked at him as she leaned back.

Derek smirked and nodded, "Well keep at it. As tightly wound as you ate you'll be partner in no time." He teased. "Me? I'm too loose. Loosey goosey." He said dancing in his seat.

He cleaned up a wing and pointed the bone at her. "Wait a second. Did you just call me boring? I'll have you know that I was the most fun person in school as voted by my 5th grade class. So there." He grabbed a wing and reached over to poke her nice with it, leaving a drop of hot wing sauce on her nose.

"Nice burps though. Easily a six out of ten. Rookie." He mocked, the cleared his throat and let one rip that turned people's heads. The fucking table even vibrated. He grinned and smacked the table top, "That's a ten Karlie. You gotta feel that shit in your bones!"

He pushed her beer glass toward her. "Try again. I'm a teach you the most important legal skill of them all." He insisted.

Karlie didn’t need Derek to tell her to keep at it to make her continue to pursue her career goals but she didn’t feel bad since the way they were bonding, she didn’t feel any different between her friends and him. Though she wasn’t sure who he was to her just yet. She watched him dance in his seat and she giggled.

She watched him eat like a beast and she wouldn’t take anything less from a guy his height and weight. He had good physique for sure…something that actually turned her on, big hunky guys. Though he had yet to try to push all the right buttons for her. She nodded sipping on her beer, “Yeah boring. 5th grade? What? That doesn’t even count buddy!” she leaned back but he still got her with a drop of hot wing sauce.

She brought together her eyes and tried to look down at the tip of her nose, cocking her eyebrow at him before she leaned forward and placed both of her hands on his shoulders for support. She leaned down into him from her seat and cleaned her nose on his t-shirt, smiling as she leaned back. “Ohh sorry I tripped?” She gave him a lop side grin but in that moment, he’d inhale her peachy scent, a scent that would linger in his nostrils.

She knew her burp was weak and his was as loud as it could get, gathering attention from people around them, she nodded no and threw a crunched up paper napkin at him, “You’re dirty. Pig.” She said and nodded no but did take few sips and let out a tiny burp, “Yeah that’s me. Going to need more than just one night to master it.” She laughed a little as she was feeling her bladder get full and she hopped off of the stool, placing hand on his thigh to actually get hold of herself, “I got to use little girl’s room. I shall be back.” She said and swayed her hips, walking away in the direction pointing towards restrooms.

Derek was enjoying the company. If he had been alone he would still have been drinking beer and chowing wings like they were going out of style, but he wouldn't be having such fun company. He liked that he could act a bit "Bro" around her, part of it was a defense mechanism because he did not want a girlfriend, he didn't want a girl in any way. Not right this second. His ex-girlfriend has royally fucked him over....well she hadn't fucked him, instead she had fucked everyone BUT him.

Still his attitude did not seem to phase Karlie, she almost took his demeanor like a challenge and she responded well to it. Maybe she was just having fun with him. KArlie was beautiful, petite, with a strong mind. She was the kind of girl that Derek would normally be trying to hump the shit out of. But since he was actively trying to keep her away from his dick, maybe she liked it. She probably had dudes hitting on her constantly, and he hoped she was enjoying being with someone not doing that.

She leaned over the table and Derek braced himself. Whoa what? Was she trying to kiss him?

No she wiped her nose on his shirt and left a trail of barbecue sauce on his chest. "Ahhh dude. This shirt was like five bucks." He mock protested.

She said she had slipped. Then she slunk away to the little lady's room. Despite not wanting to make this a date of sorts, he couldn't help but eye her ass as she walked away. Was it just him or was she wiggling her ass at him? Damn her petite frame was fucking nice.

He polished off the wings on his plate and ordered a refill while she was gone. He cleaned up his face and hands so that he wouldn't be caked with sticky sauce when she got back. He also had another pitcher of beer brought to the table. By the time Karlie had gotten back, everything was refilled.

"Feel 'fresh'?" He mocked, with a smirk.

Karlie hadn't really given much thought how much she'd enjoy her time out with him but feared, WHAT if? Though she was glad that the evening had turned up quite well and that they had got along just fine, better than fine actually. She was glad that he was being himself as she had effect on boys to not be themselves most of the time, trying to impress her and ruin the whole thing overall. She had no real idea what happened to his previous relationships. But, she really wasn't looking for one.

He was certainly a guy to surprise her with his demeanor but then she should have expected this since the moment see saw him with his tie around his forehead. She really was enjoying her evening out for one specific reason and that was because Derek wasn't hitting on her. Sure there might be something between them and they both could feel it but loved how no other guy actually bothered her as well.

She wasn't that forward to lean into him to kiss him right there and then. He must be high on that beer if he were to think that. She laughed out loud seeing a streak of that sauce on his t-shirt, nodding and patting his shoulder, "Stop crying. I will get you a new one. I promise." She said as she drank her share of beer and jumped up to go to the restroom. She didn't add any sway in her hips but instead that was how he normally walked.

Her petite frame moved fluidly walking away and then walking back with a smile, few minutes later. One could see her tall stature, petite frame and slender legs. Her hair came to her shoulder level, shorter as was her style most of time unless she was letting it grow but never more than slightly below her shoulder blades. She smiled and nodded at him, standing there but not taking a seat, "Oh yea. Fresh! But I don't think I can drink anymore. I do have to get back home and certainly don't want to drive drunk." She smiled as she looked at him, nodding and moving her shoulders to the beat of the music. Her pretty blond hair swinging back and forth.

Derek shrugged and pulled the pitcher of beer toward him. "Suit yourself. I'm walking home so I can get as fucked up as I want." He poured himself another beer and knee this would be the last pitcher he ordered. Already it was starting to feel like his liver was begining to float.

"So let me ask you something." He said taking a big drink. "Why are you sitting across from some random dude you just met? I get that the friends bailed but what about boyfriends?" He asked. "I mean you are pretty, clearly smart, and you are chill, I mean put an Xbox controller in your hand and you'd be perfect."

He paused, "Of you were brunette." He teased with a wink.

Karlie stood there watching him pull the pitcher of beer toward him. She smiled and grinned at him, “Ohh lucky you! I always have to be careful when I go out. I live on outskirts of the city, away from chaos. I am jealous!”

She gave him a polite nod, finishing up her share of beer that was in her glass and gave him an unpleasant gaze, “What boyfriend? Relationship are overrated!” She leaned in and whispered in his ears, “Me and relationship is a bad combination so you see, mister, I don’t do boyfriends.” She pouted, “Xbox does sound good at this time!” She perked up and gave him a push hearing his last comment about brunette. “Well this is me…take it or leave it! That’s how I roll.” She winked back.

Derek sat back and nodded, "Relationships ARE overrrated!" He cheered, taking a big pull out of his glass. "God my ex is such a fucking nightmare. You wouldn't believe the shit she pulled. I mean I think I was probably the only dick she wasn't sitting on. She slept with my best friend, my neighbor, my neighbor's kid, the fucking mailman, and I think a horse during a trip to Mexico."

He shook his head and pushed his empty plate toward the center of the table. "I don't think I'll ever deal with girlfriends again. I'm lucky I didn't catch nothing." He muttered into his beer glass.

"You game? Well, tell you what. It's fucking Friday. We ain't gotta do shit tomorrow right? I say you help me finish this pitcher, then we walk back to my place and play a little drunk ass Halo. Loser has to sleep on the couch." He suggested, leaning toward her and nudging her beer glass.

She chuckled hearing him agree to her theory on relationships. He was just like her, she realized that. Now her previous boyfriends never cheated on her, they wouldn’t dare but it’s just that they kind of failed to actually please her enough to make her stick with them. Over the time, their relationship would go bitter and it would be the end of it.

She laughed at his comment about her fucking a horse and knew he was just exaggerating by now. She nodded no, “Did you have get your head checked out by a shrink? You might be paranoid…” She winked at him, “But I understand. Well what’s not meant to be, you shouldn’t waste a breath over it.” She cocked her eyebrow and looked at him.

“Not sure about finishing?” She said leaning back in defensive gesture, “Maybe one more glass of beer…but the rest is all you buddy. Halo sounds good!” She smiled and started sipping on her glass that was just refilled by him. She raised the glass up in the air, “Fuck relationship…” She laughed out loud.

Derek raised his glass and toasted to the fucking of relationships. He smiled and downed the remainder of the beer. The bill came and Derek tossed down his card and handed it to the server, not giving Karlie a chance to even attempt to pay her part.

Once they had paid he got out of the seat and staggered a little, but got his footing and gestured toward the door. "Shall we?" He asked leading her out of the restaurant.

It really was a short walk to his small one bedroom place. He lived on the seventh floor of an apartment building in the middle of the city. The rent of which could pay for a home in the suburbs if he wanted. Derek liked being in the city though, being close to work and just about anything else that was going down was a plus. Besides he had no girl, no kids, no reason to get a house.

He opened the door which a big hiccup and let Karlie in. His place was simply furnished. A big couch, small coffee table, entertainment center against the wall. His kitchen was more like a small nook, basically a fridge and a microwave and nothing more.

"Home sweet home. Hey you want a beer?" He offered with a smile.

She chuckled as they both toasted and down their beer. She was a tad bit slow and last thing she wanted was a beer belly. On a guy, it might be okay but on her slender figure, it might look weird. She knew her limit and besides, she knew it would bring her to a point where she will be tipsy. Something where she draws a line.

She watched him stand up and she followed, a late reaction seeing him pay their bill. She was an independent woman and wouldn’t like to let one person pay it all, especially when it’s a guy. She chuckled and slipped a 50$ in his hand as he lead her out of the place, “I believe this pays for my share. Don’t say no because I like to pay my own bill.” If he didn’t accept it then it would be counted as a date and that’s something she wanted to stay away from.

It was a short walk from the place to this apartment as they carried on casual conversation. Soon her heels clicked down the hallways as they got off the elevators and moved into his apartment, “Looks cozy. Well furnished.” She said and smiled as she knew how much an apartment cost in this area. She liked luxury and so her decision to buy a place away from the city. She shook her head no as she walked over to the couch, “No I am done with beer for the night.” She said and looked at him.

Derek moved to his refrigerator anyway and grabbed two bottles of water. If she wasn't drinking, then he wouldn't drink in front of her. He walked by and handed her the plastic bottle, then moved to his tv and grabbed two controllers for the Xbox and the TV remote.

"Xbox on." He said, turning the Xbox on with his voice. He gave her a controller and smirked. "Get ready to get blasted girlie." He teased.

Ten minutes later Derek was glaring at her angrilly. She had fucking slaughtered him and he was sure she had cheated somehow. "You sure you didn't put in some code? I find that hard to believe. You not fucking with me are you?"

Karlie took a comfortable seat in the corner of a loveseat he had in the center of his living room. She smiled when he came back with two bottles of water, smiling, “Oh I had no idea you drank water? I figured beer was the only thing…you know?” She joked with him as he settled next to her.

She chuckled, “Pfft…get blasted? We shall see.” She cocked her eyebrow and then turned her head to look at the screen.

It was soon after she caught him staring at her angrily, she let out a laughter, “Oh maybe I forgot to tell you that I play games with my cousins all the time!” She giggled a little, “So you blame me if I am cheating because you can’t win? That is so guy-like! I can go again if you want and like the defeat so much!” She winked at him.

Derek nodded, "Oh we playing again girl. I was being easy on you before but I am about to turn the game up." He told her turning back to the screen. This time he put all his skill into it and....she fucking picked him apart. It wasn't as one-sided as before but she still smoked his ass with a fair margin.

Derek flicked his controller into the couch. "Hey you know something.....you are hot as fuck right now." He smiled. "I mean don't take this the wrong way but you are pushing my buttons. You drink, you're chill and relaxed unlike most girls I know, and you can game. Christ how you are single is mind blowing to me."

He grabbed the controller and waved it. "Round three?"

Karlie leaned forward when he told her they were going to play gain. She scoffed, “And how do you know that I wasn’t going easy on your lame ass!” She cocked her eyebrow, giving him a look, “I guess it’s about time I step up my game!” She said as they had another round and she stood up, hands over her head, “Boo ya!” She sand and clicked a button on the remote.

She smiled, “Look at that…look at the shots I’ve fired and ones that were hit. Not many fired and all on the dots, doing the damage. And look at the shorts fired by you…your problem is you shoot without an aim.” She said and sat back down, laughing at what he just said about her. “Oh please, I love that the most about me! Single. And no more. I can’t take more winning. Unless you really want me to…I might just pity you and let you win.”
