FBI clears Michael Flynn in probe linking him to Russia

The FBI has reviewed intercepted phone calls between national security adviser Michael Flynn and the Russian ambassador to the US and has found no evidence of wrongdoing, it was revealed Monday.

The calls were made in late December and picked up as part of routine electronic surveillance of Russian officials. They did not reveal any illicit ties between Flynn and Russia, according to the Washington Post.

The review of the calls was part of a wider probe into Russia’s interference in the presidential election and hacking of the Democratic National Committee.

It's a headline from the NY Post back in January. A lot has changed since then.

I highly doubt that Joe Tacopina had much free time to actually research that impossibly brief "article" what with being on the board of the Venetian soccer team in Italy's third division.

HERE is a good timeline about what Flynn said and when he said it.

So Beco is technically correct ("which is the best kind of correct" - Homer Simpson) that on Jan 24, FBI did "clear" Flynn based on evidence available at the time.

Fast forward to Feb 9th and things began to fall apart in a hurry for General Flynn, which is why he is out of his government position today.

I never thought I'd live in an age when an American general officer was compromised by Russian intelligence. Shake my head.
