I'm all for being compassionate and racially sensitive, but not at the expense of the truth. Statistics like these should be used to figure an answer to the problems, not as
a political or personal one up man argument.

For me the telling percentage is this, 43.5%. That's the total percentage of black murders committed. 43.5% of all murders in this country in 12.5% of the population? That's what we should be talking about and trying to figure out why. BY pointing fingers and blaming the person over there, we blind ourselves to the reason some of our citizens are being killed. Let's open our eyes and take a long, hard truthful look at the reasons behind it.

I think the answer lies in poverty more than race. And where race is a significant player, is it the race itself or how the race is treated in this country and the history of that race in this country. The psychological effects of slavery are still strong. More black men imprisoned over petty stuff like marijuana and over-sentencing in comparison to their white peers interrupts the family unit.

Yes the black population is over represented in our crime statistics, but to look at it and say it's just because of their race I do not think that is accurate.
