As the Earth Day story contest is getting ready to close its doors to submissions, I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to start organizing the next FAWC.

For anyone who does not know, FAWC stands for Friendly Anonymous Writing Challenge. The idea is for writers to come up with an original erotic story based around a similar theme. Those stories are then posted under this user name (thus the "anonymous" part) and a winner (for lack of a better term -- this is just a friendly competition, after all) is chosen according to the standard Lit voting system. There are no real prizes given for FAWC.

* * * *

FAWC 4 The Music: song selections. Authors in this challenge may select one of the following four songs -- or even more than one, if you're ambitious -- around which to base a story. The story does not have to be a literal interpretation of the lyrics; however you find inspiration for the story is up to you.

The songs are:

Tomorrow We'll See by Sting. Lyrics

Midnight Train to Georgia by Gladys Knight & the Pips. Lyrics

Oh, Is There Not One Maiden Breast from Gilbert & Sullivan's "The Pirates of Penzance." Lyrics

Written In Rock by Rick Springfield. Lyrics

These songs were chosen arbitrarily, but I think they represent a broad range of musical styles and story elements. But there is also plenty of interpretation room within each song.

PLEASE DON'T TELL ANYONE WHICH SONG YOU HAVE CHOSEN! ;)

The challenge begins today, Sunday, April 13, 2014. All stories must be submitted to FAWCker by Midnight, CST, on Wednesday, May 7, 2014. Please submit the story with the following format.

Formatting: Please, for the sake of unity and my sanity, have all stories formatted in Verdana, 12-point font, with no paragraph indents and hard returns between paragraphs. Basically, it should look almost exactly the way it will appear on Lit.

Please use a series of four asterisks (* * * *) to delineate scene transitions. Example:

Text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text

* * * *

Text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text

The idea behind this is to not make it readily apparent, based on a particular author's formatting style, who wrote what.

Please include the following note at the beginning of your story:

(Author's note: This story is an entry into FAWC (Friendly Anonymous Writing Challenge), a collaborative competition among Lit authors. FAWC is not an official contest sponsored by Literotica, and there are no prizes given to the winner. This FAWC was based around the theme of music, with four songs given to choose from. The song that inspired this story was [insert song name and artist here])

Also, after this disclaimer but before the body of the story, include up to nine story tags. One of the tags will already be "FAWC" so I will only need nine more for your story.

Send the story as a .doc or .odt file.

So, to sum up:

Challenge Begins: Sunday, April 13
Challenge Ends: Wednesday, May 7 at midnight
Formatting: Verdana, 12-point font, .doc or .odt file

When you are ready to send your submission, send me or slyc_willie a PM and I will give you the email address.

Any other questions as they are addressed in the thread will be updated here.

Let's have some FAWCking fun!

FAWC 4 The Music will have the central theme of -- you guessed it -- music. I will arbitrarily select a small group of songs (I'm thinking a short list of four or so). Writers will then choose one of those songs as the basis for their story. We will have a couple to three weeks to write the stories, then they will be posted en masse.

This post will be updated as details are hammered out. ;)

As long as one of them is Stevie Nicks Edge of Seventeen I already have one in the can. :cattail:

"The Hills Are Alive" from Sound of Music? The love story of a D-cup bimbo.

The songs will be a bit more eclectic, I think. This is supposed to be a challenge, you know. ;)

Actually that song spawned two stories from me. But I would never use one I have posted already , really I wouldn't.

Just so long as it's not that damn headless chicken piece.

If "Cherry Pie" by Warrant isn't on the list, then this contest is a farce in the eyes of the true gods of thinly-veiled sex-rock. It's mythical, a religion unto itself. Lit writers should war over the right to pen a story inspired by that ode of odes. It's the Helen of Troy of masturbatory music.

That's the face that launched a thousand skeets, my friends.

For a moment there, I swear, I saw this thread as Fawc 4 The Musical.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

My mind went into overdrive trying to figure out just how the hell I was going to write that one.

I'll play by the way.

Actually, I am thinking that one of the selections will be from a musical. ;)

Sure you wouldn't . . . .

What, no chicken dance song? Damn. Guess I'll have to scratch that one off the list.

Considering that's the one song Jani Lane hated to record, I think it would be slap in the face of Warrant to include it. :p

But I do believe there will be something from the hair-metal days.

A FAWC musical would be an interesting thing to pull off. But I don't think we need to be quite that ambitious.

LOL @ chicken dance....All that hit my mind was.. "I don't wanna be a chicken, I don't wanna be a duck, Just wanna write stories where they fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. :D

Tossing my name in the hat as a possibility, I gotta get a lot done before I can commit.

Fawc 4 the Opera.

"Oh I want to Fuck, Oh I want to Fuck, Oh I want to fuck... your asshole!"

"OH DEAR GOD I'M CUMMMIIINNNGGG!"

Going to go watch the Phantom of the Opera now just to have a laugh.:D:D

I've been thinking about a doing a story based on "Everything's Embarrassing" by Sky Ferierra. If that's a choice I'll finally have the motivation to get it done.

If you make John Conlee's Friday Night Blues one of the songs, I can dust off my Fawc 2 piece (of shit) remove a Prius or 2 and be done before the deadline is set. lol.

Yeah, it wasn't about a chicken dance. The song, if I remember correctly, was call Attack of the Headless Chicken. It was written by an 14 year old and played by the Boston Modern Orchestra. He composed it on a piece of software, can't remember the name right now, programmed by MIT for a study they were doing.

It was actually quite good. Of course I was joking about using it for a FAWC.

Don't you dare!

*it was called Hyperscore

ETA: Here, second one down

I love all the "suggestions-that-aren't-suggestions" being tossed around here. :D

Not that you guys n galls would actually do that, of course. No, not at all.

Without divulging what the actual songs are just yet, I'm going to say that they are 1) a selection from a famous musical, 2) something relatively recent that you might hear on an alternative radio station, 3) something you might want to bang your head to (or at least get out the can of hairspray) and 4) something soulful and bluesy. There might be a fifth; I'm mulling it over.

There. That should be enough of a tease. ;)

Interested

Not that anyone gives a flying fuck, but I'll bite. Come to think of it, fucking on the fly sounds like a great idea.

Yes, two people doing a HALO jump just to have a few seconds of freezing cold coitus sounds wonderful.

I've always had a thing for tall girls, so how about "Long Tall Sally"?

Or a TV/CD story based on "A Boy Named Sue"?
