Hell, it doesn't matter all that much. They're all made in China unless you pay crazy money for gold plated clover clamps or hand made wooden ones or something.

More often than not, I use old-fashioned clip-on earrings. When I really want him to feel it I use the kinda that used to sell in the 70s with the screws... so they can be tightened and loosened as needed. (I love Mommy's jewelry box.)
