"Favorites"?

So, my credit card required me to fill out some security questions to better protect my online account. I was amazed how hard it was to actually pick three security questions I liked.

A lot of the questions dealt with "favorites". Stuff like:
What is your favorite song?
Who is your favorite historical figure?
What was your favorite teacher's last name?

The factual information was long forgotten lore like my first grade teacher's last name, or crap like "Who was your rival growing up?"

Now, call me crazy, but I don't have a lot of "favorites" and those that I do are often rather flexible and changing. I have about 5 favorite movies. I have several close friends, but no "best" friend (I don't count my girlfriend as a best friend). Hell, I don't even have an absolute favorite color! (I like both green and blue, but find blue-green so-so) The problem is I like a lot of things, and my preferences change. I see the world in shades of gray, not black and white. So there are very few absolutes.

Am I crazy that I don't have many absolute favorites that I can name as factual information? Whatever happened to just asking for your first pet's name or your sister's middle name?

Agreed. We are such fickle creatures and yet so stubborn at the sametime. I have lots of friends I consider "best friends"....they're damn near brothers....but I didn't have a "best man" at my wedding.

Passwords for services online are coming to that as well. *sigh* In a world of text messaging and technology addiction I'm just a guy with two cans and a string.
