I find in the winter months I want comfort food. Do you have a favorite that you fix on a chilly day?

Spaghetti, green beans, and garlic bread sounds good to me today...mmmmmmmmmm

Hot chocolate with marshmallows...mmmm

Spicy chili with cheese

Chicken and Dumplings

allright, I dont' get it, are all of you reading my mind today or what?

I'm currently waiting for the homemade stew to finish, (in 20 minutes), and the cornbread JUST went in the oven. Anyone hungry? Wanna join me for lunch?

Beef stew
Navy Bean w/ham soup
chili
chicken and dumplings
apple pie
pineapple-upside down cake (but that's good any time of year.)

I tend towards higher fat foods and more meat. During the summer I like lighter foods like spinach salad.

My winter specialty:

Stuffed Chicken breasts
Green Bean Casserole
Bread knots
Rice

and Pumpkin Spice cake for dessert, served with Buttershots in hot chocolate:D

YUM!!! I think I'm in the mood to cook today. Everything sounds good. I'm going to start a big pot of red wine spaghetti sauce soon and then I'm going to experiment with some cookies as possibilities for the cookie exchange party in December.

Odd, my wintertime food is ice cream

I don't eat it much in the summer, but i do in the winter.

Shepherd's Pie

Yes, I am a s9imple man. I feel i could split wood all day after a big ole plate of this.

My mom's chili, stew, or chicken soup with matzoh balls are wonderful in the wintertime.

homemade clam and corn chowder with cornbread
hot chocolate with fluff
baklava

It may not be food but my favorite winter time consumable item is EGGNOG. But I'm only sorry that my Mom went back home to Louisiana because she makes the greatest homemade eggnog.

Jambalaya
Chicken n' Dumplins
Cajun Ham and Bean Soup
Red beans and rice
Jalapeno cornbread

Mmmm....

Ohhhh.... I'm all for a venti caramel apple cider from Starbucks. That shot of caramel... then the steamed cider... topped with fresh whipped cream... and more caramel. It just doesn't get anymore decadent than that. I swear I'm addicted.
