What are your favorites? What movie left a real impression? The opening scene in Private Ryan got to me. But my favorites in no particular order. The Longest Day... 12 Oclock High....Memphis Belle...FullMetal Jacket....Platoon....Saving Private Ryan...The Enemy Below....King Rat....Strategic Air Command....The Deer Hunter....Apocalypse Now.

Easily, Full Metal Jacket, Braveheart right off the top off my head

Gallipoli; Deer Hunter; Platoon; Apocalypse Now . . .

Mind drawing a blank . . .

BORED1

You already named most of the good ones.

Would "Bridge on the River Kwai" qualify?

Full Metal Jacket, Saving Private Ryan, and, Apocolypes Now, in no particular order.

I loved Battleground 1950 with Van Johnson and James Whitmore. Very good view of the soldiers fighting in Europe during winter. I liked the scene where they question a jeep of soldiers about who won the world series etc and they turn out to be Germans.

Another good oldie is 30 seconds over Tokyo.

Full Metal Jacket and Platoon... Battle of the Bulge-the part where the Panzer tank commanders sang the fight song for their general gave me chills

Absolutely! Im whistling the tune now.:D

Gotta add "Glory" to the films already listed. Oh, and that all-time classic " All Quiet on The Western Front".

Tora! Tora! Tora! -- the most historically accurate depiction of the events leading up to December 7th, 1941.

Glory -- definitely should be on the list.

The Tuskeegee Airmen -- made for TV, but still a very good movie that brought black history to life.

The Bridges at Toko Ri -- A very good movie about a nearlyforgotten war.
