Listening to Paul Simon on eight-track. Yes, I know I'm old.

"My mama loves me
She loves me
She gets down on her knees and hugs me
And she loves me like a rock"

How about you?

sailing on the sunfish and dragging off the back of it, feeling as if nothing would/could touch me...
listening to men at work or asia or chicago....
naked barbques in the back yard
yeah... thanks for making me remember...*silly smile*

Cecilia, you’re breaking my heart,
You’re shaking my confidence daily.
Oh cecilia, I’m down on my knees,
I’m begging you please to come home.

Making love in the afternoon with cecilia
Up in my bedroom,
I got up to wash my face
When I come back to bed,
Someone’s taken my place.

Jubilation,
She loves me again,
I fall on the floor and I’m laughing

Jubilation,
She loves me again,
I fall on the floor and I’m laughing.

sorry, it's just such a great song, I couldn't help it.

Listening to my Fame album over and over and over....

Watching Adam Ant on Friday Night Videos with my cousin.

Roller skating with my friend Amy.

Giving a boy his very first kiss when I was thirteen.

Hanging out in my room with Carson and listening to The Violent Femmes.

Man, there are so many memories.... :D

My best friend in the old days was named Amy. We used to go skating all the time. I got my first kiss at the skating rink. Damn I'm old...

Best thing about memories... you never stop making them.

okay, some favorite memories...

Doing the horseshow circuit with a friend, and we didn't have enough money to get a hotel room (we were 15), so we rented three stalls - her horse on one end, my horse on the other, and we set up camp for ourselves in the middle one (I still can't believe my parents let me do that!). This went on almost every weekend for the duration of the season, which is probably why I didn't do that well that year. Showing a horse with a tremendous hangover isn't conducive to winning blue ribbons.

Track practice on the beach - every day.

Skipping school with a friend of mine to get high, and him deciding it's the perfect time for me to learn to drive a stick shift (I almost wish I had that on videotape).

Cruising State Street. :D

Putting Mickey Mouse hands on the clock in the administration building in college.

Dying the water in the pool at Middle Tennessee State purple - they were our fiercest rival, and purple was our school color. :D

Riding down the road with way too many people in a little bitty car, singing ACDC's "Big Balls" as loud as we could.

Driving aimlessly in my car for hours with you, listening to The Wagon on the car stereo that cost more than the car.

Loft parties.

Making pizzas in the kitchen on Beal, Guinness in the oven, waking up with garlic bread on the carpet. :D

Kissing someone on the balcony the night before he left.

I  you, yannow ;)

and we now return you to your regularly scheduled thread. Sorry lizabeth

I love you guys, although I don't go back as far. Carson was a sailor (or his AV was) when I met him. You guys rule.

I want to join the Scarlett, Carson, and Cant lovefest!

Children's Day and dolls.

Riding on my father's back as he swam in the pool and pretended to be Shamu.

Riding my bike through warm mud puddles and putting my feet out to catch the rooster tails of water.

Riding double on a Yamaha 60 dirt bike, with my crazy, sweet brother.

My first kiss that tasted like chlorine and sunshine and Blowpops.

Knowing that my parents would come and get me, even if they had to bring the National Guard.

Being loved, unconditionally.

Camping on Mt. Mitchell and hearing Amazing Grace played on bagpipes at dawn.

Tanner.

 back at you.

P.S. Mine had purple pompoms with little silver jingle bells.

Hiking the Presidentials with my father.

My first time hunting, with my father.

My first dive here in Florida. The water was a great 82° and I was able to dive without a wetsuit.

Standing on the top of the Monch and looking down into Switzerland, knowing I had just climbed it.

My first Free Fall Jump. (They had to push me out the door for my first ever jump.)

Having sex with my wife in the water just off the beach of Palm Beach.

My first time swimming underwater and being able to breath. (Okay so it was in a pond and I froze my ass off but it was still incredible.)

The first time I pulled someone out of a burning house.

The looks on the faces of my neighbors in Germany when I stood up for their daughters against several punks, and the friendships that followed.

My father waiting for me in the pouring rain when I landed at Rhein Main, and shaking hands with me as an equal.

My wife saying yes when I proposed to her.

Sitting in a tent at dawn, watching my wife sleeping as the sun slowly peeks over the horizon.

Sitting in front of a fire with my father and brother during a snowstorm. Venison cooking over the fire and cups of hot coffee in our hands.

Cooking after Hurricane Francis last year. I had marinated steaks and ribs on the grill as well as a large pot of Chili on the camp stove. My neighbors and friends were there, all cooking the foods from their fridges and freezers before it went bad. Hot food, warm beer and good friends while looking around at the damage Mama Nature had wreaked.

I have many fond memories. I am blessed with a great life, a fantastic, forgiving and understanding wife, and the ability to make the best of nearly any situation. (For that I thank my parents.)

Watching Adam Ant on Friday Night Videos with my cousin.

Adam Ant made me feel things that would give Carson hope about my sexuality...

but I also discovered that there were plenty of girls out there that thought a guy that could pull off lace, warpaint, eyeliner, lip gloss and tight pants was sexy as hell. Sorry Carson, you had a shot for a couple months when I was seventeen but then the girls ruined me for ya...

Seagram's Wine coolers...

Trips to the drive-in where I never saw the movie...

scrambling to get dressed and the thrill of almost getting caught...

dancing in the aisles with a girl I never saw before or since at a Stray Cats concert...

First kisses on a moonlit beach...

Every first time s/he told me: I love you ... from the oldest to the most recent.

Skipping church to visit the off-limits bad influence neighbor boy. There's just something delicious about being eaten on a Sunday morning ... when your parents think you're in church ... with Blue Oyster Cult blaring on the 8-Track and your nice Sunday dress bunched up around your waist. :cathappy:

Smokin' dope and makin' out on the banks of the Ohio River.

High school Friday nights with the gang ... with a quart or two of Miller (in the big glass bottle) and some Benson & Hedges (nasty) ciggies swiped from my parents.

Sleeping under the stars ... on the boat in the middle of Deep Creek Lake.

Her touch ... every time her fingers brush mine. The feel of her body pressed against mine ... each time we hug. The gleam in her eyes ... when she flirts with me. The sound of her laugh, and the way that wave of awe radiates from behind my sternum when I think of her love. :rose:

Watching Michael Moshen on "live from Off Center", and then realizing my jaw was hanging open because his moves were in-fucking-credible!

Winning a five dollar bet from my mom by jumping over a parking meter.

Doing 120 in a car I rebuilt.

The first topless picture of a woman I took, and how amazingly beautiful she looked.

Pegging a coke can right in the o, then watching my friend swear when I did it three more times in a row, double or nothing each time.

Walking in the snow when the first true love broke up with me.

Giving a speech on the benefits of being a nudist wearing nothing but a towel.

Smoking a true cuban cigar

Good times, good times.

I know ... old eh ...

Dr hook is oneof my Fav's

you make my pants wanna get up and dance
you make my face wanna grin
you make my knees wanna kneel down and say please
honey won't u kiss me again ...

hehehe woohooo ~

:nana:

Jam sessions in my Uncle's basement.

Realizing 'girls are cool'.

My '65 Plymouth Fury II, best $200 I ever spent.

My first real gig.

Watching my son hit his first home run.

Blowing the headline act off the stage at our biggest gig ever.

Thinking my heart was going to explode at my daughter's
first tumbling class 'recital'. She forgot everything except the
forward roll, so she did it over & over until she ran out of mat.
She stopped, stood up, turned around, and went back the other
way, doing the same exact thing.
(ah shit, gotta wipe my eyes now)

Seeing my picture still on the wall at a local comedy club
more than 10 years after I had gotten out of the buisness.

Riding in a real I.R.O.C. Dodge Viper for 3 laps at Chicagoland Speedway.

Announcing 1 year of sobriety to my support group.
(add to that, my 5th, 10th, and soon to be 20th years)

When my son returned safely from Iraq to his wife & family.

Taking a moment every day to appreciate what a rich and
wonderful life I have, how fortunate I am to have it,
and that each day is a gift, it's up to me what I do with it.

The wonderful and relieving sound of a baby's cry... when he's six weeks early and you weren't sure his lungs were going to be fully developed.

The twins rolling around on a quilt in the floor and looking like they were wrestling when they are about 5 months old (that was SO adorable!)

Breaking out into screams on the bus when the news came over the radio that we'd won first place in the band division of the parade. (yes, I'm a band nerd.)

Winning the marching competition against our archrival who were sitting in the bleachers right next to us.

Watching MST3K in college with my roommate and best friend.

Making up an answering machine message to the tune of an old popular tv show and disolving into giggles so many times and so loudly while trying to record it that the RA beeped over the intercom and said they'd gotten complaints about the noise.

Having an all nighter with my boyfriend (who is now my husband) when I was supposed to be sleeping in my dorm.

Attending my first ever NASCAR (busch) race in Memphis and actually walking right past Martin Truex, Jr.

Superficial good memories

Reading the first book I throughly enjoyed

Rereading it every few years

The first time a girl touched me somewhere special

Each time a woman said "Yes" either with her lips, her eyes, or her body language.

Each job offer I've received

Closing that huge sale

The day my income increased by 50%

The day I got for a young person to be hired for 100% more than they'd ever made before.

Looking out a the exotic foreign capital and realizing, "I'm getting paid to be here."

The time a woman sunk to her knees and pulled me down with her on a South Seas beach, and I realized an impossible fantasy was about to come true.

The time a beautiful woman, again almost a stranger, turned to me at a party and said, "I'd really like to have sex right now. Would you like to?"

Looking at my waiters' shit eating grin when he wondered how I managed to be in his restaurant two nights in a row with a different stunningly beautiful women each night. He didn't know they were each just good friends, alas.
