Past: Coca-Cola commercial(Performed back in the 70's with a choir singing "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing").
Present: The theme song to "Married With Children". I know that it is not in the present but it is far more present than the abovementioned.

Ok... I know I am weird... but I have two favorites...
the Tootsie Roll commercial

and the double mint commercial..... yeah I know lol

Armour, Armour hot dogs,
What kind of kid eats Armour hot dogs?
Fat kids
Skinny kids
Kids who climb on rocks!
Tall kids
Short kids
Even kids with chicken pox eat hot dogs,
Armour hot dogs
The dogs kids love to BITE. :D

Cruel, wasn't I? That TV commercial got stuck in my head last year before a fishing vacation. I spent two weeks singing it out on the water with my mom and my sister, over and over and over again.

You can see how old it is just with the chicken pox reference!

Just when I got the got the Coca-Cola song out of my head, you put another one there in its place.

The 7up radio commercial circa 1986. Oh my, I used to pester the DJ to play it for me.

An interesting subject...

Hold the pickles,
Hold the lettuce,
Special orders,
Don't upset us,
All we ask is,
That you let us,
Make it your way...

I used to love television jingles, the really good ones like the Burger King song above (how many remembered what it was?) had a way of boring into your sub-conscious and playing there adifinitum...like the Oscar Meyer ditty and the Armour Hot Dog song already mentioned and the Coca-Cola lovefest from the late 60's/early 70's, they are staples of American Pop Culture. Not to mention a lasting tribute to the intelligence that used to be employed by the Wizards of Madison Avenue...they are from a time when "Ad Men" had to be creative in their pursuit of the Great God Commerce.

Anymore, it seems that instead of creating lasting additions to Americana, they are quicker to go for already established pieces of music and lyrics to push their products...who needs to be creative when purchasing commercial rights is so much easier...

I'm not sure, but somehow I don't think Mr. Lennon & Mr. McCartney had Nike sports shoes in mind when they wrote "Revolution"...but I guess I could be wrong...

Ah well...

Plop, plop,
Fizz, fizz,
Oh what a,
Relief it is...

Havoc

Wendy's

"Where's The Beef?" Commercials I loved.

Havoc.. I remember that Burger King jingle. I was singing it the other day in the office when I was headed to lunch and one of the girls here had never heard it!

Presently...I can say with certainty that I don't watch enough TV to have a favorite.

In the past (and my mother would die if she knew I was telling anyone this story) I did have a favorite. I was raised in a Southern Baptist church. For those of you who haven't had the joy of this experience, everyone knows everyone and the biggest topic of discussion is what is wrong in everyone ELSE'S life. These people love nothing more than a good scandal...and I was about to give them one.

I'm 4 or 5 years old and it's my big debut. I am to sing Jesus Loves Me in front of the whole church. My mother and I practiced this for weeks. There I am, center stage with my frilly church dress on. My blonde riglets are cascading over my shoulders. Why, if you look closely...you can tell that I am one of heaven's angels sent down to sing for these good people. (as is my mom's recollection) The pastor of our church hands me the microphone and I smile sweetly at him....

And launch into a rousing chorus of my favorite beer commercial.

Slap your hand around a Miller Lite can

Oh the shame of it all. I can't for the life of me now remember the whole commercial or even if I am inserting the correct beer name, but Mom says that I perfectly recited the whole thing. Complete with hip swivels. :D

McD's

Does anyone else remember that stupid song McDonald's used to have? At one point they were giving away tapes or records or something and if you got the one where the people singing it actually finished the song you won something?

It was in my head earlier but now I can't get it back

YES lol. I used to know the song by heart, and my mom used to think it was SO cute I was required to sing it to all of her friends.

Luckily, I was not my little brother who spent a good part of his toddlerhood singing "Achy Breaky Heart" on command when my mother went through her Country Bar phase.

Angel...that's funny. I don't know how I remembered that, it took a minute.
