Who is yours?

Next to myself, then Nitelight, then DCL, I would vote for Carlin, Cosby, and Foxworthy, followed by Allen.

You got one...or two?

Here my favs *g*

Marco Rima - he cracks me up when only appearing on a show, be it stand up or a movie or ... whatever

Gabi Köster - she is at this stage the No.1 female German comedian in my eyes. Her best feature is her view of the daily little nifty things and blowing them out of proportion in a witty and funny way plus her "lack of respect" when dealing with celebrities *g*

Anke Engelke - unfortunately things have become a litte quiet these days around her since she is working on a more "serious" movie I have read

Then there is Klaus-Maria Profittlich, he is sooooooo "changeable" in his comedy and does really weird stuff (on the close border to good taste sometimes) ... and ... Bernd Stelter, and Pete Klocke, and Michael Mittermair ....

OK - I admit, I am a comedy addict *g*

I am posting on an Ambro thread...look...four horsemen...

Favorites are so hard to decide upon

Eddie Izzard - He does high brow and low brow with incredible fucking timing.

Billy Connolly - Because anyone who can still, in this day, make jokes about body functions hilarious is a genius.

Dennis Leary - Sell out or not, gotta love the sarcasm and the anger.

Dennis Miller - See above. Plus the boy either does his homework or pays well to have it done for him.

Larry Miller - Delivery without equal.

Lenny Bruce - nuff said.

There are like a million others that I could name (Chris Rock, Bill Mahr...) but my top 6 are the ones I couldn't decide between.

Steven Wright
Woody Allen
Monty Python
Neil Innes
Kids in the Hall
Frank Zappa
"BOB" (subgenious)
Mel Brooks
Mystery Science Fiction Theatre
Smothers Brothers
Robert Anton Wilson
PDQ Bach
Weird Al Yankovic
Bob Rivers
Kierkegaard

PDQ Bach? Dillinger, I am impressed...

but I'll be even more impressed if you've heard of Anna Russell.

PDQ Bach's commentary on Beethoven's Fifth Symphony and Anna Russell's commentary on Wagner's Ring cycle were favorites in my college music theory classes...

"Seigfreid...was very strong, very brave, very handsome, very stupid--a regular Little Abner-type..."

Add to the above:

Red Skelton
Victor Borge
Bill Cosby

Dana Carvey, George Carlin, Rodney Carrington, Jeff Foxworthy and yes, Eddie Murphy.

ranajja - I'm sorry to say that I haven't heard Anna Russell but I will be looking her up! Wonder if I can find anything on Napster?

Yes - I first heard PDQ Bach in music theory as well... and have seen him in concert twice. The Beethoven commentary is HILARIOUS! Some of my favorites include "Concerto For Horn and Hardart" (anyone remember Hardarts?) - "Iphigenia in Brooklyn" - "The Stoned Guest" - Schleptet in E-Flat Major (including Yehudi Menuetto and PResto Hey Nonny Nonnio) - "Hansel and Gretel and Ted and Alice (An opera in one unnatural act) - "The OK Chorale" - "Erotica Variatios" (for banned instruments and piano)...

Steven Wright and George Carlin

You can down stuff from both of them for Napster.

Do you really think Bill Cosby belongs in our illustrious company?

Nitelight

Hell I don't think WE belong in our illustrious company, but you know...

Ambrosious and R Nitelight are about as funny as the statue of George Washington's horse standing in the park near my house. I'm not sure what happened to George. I think he might be out looking for his wooden false chattering teeth.

Funny is a matter of timing and picking your spots. Those two talking heads (no, not GW and his horse, Ambrosious and R Nitelight) couldn't find a punch line at a wedding.

I'll vote for William J. Clinton as the funniest living human. "I never had sex with that woman." No wait, he's not human, he's an insect, of the cockroach variety. OK, well then, my choice is Slut_boy. "Now, what would I possibly want with your panties?"

Talking Head?

Like I'm some member of a fringe, weird rock band from the 80's?

Well...I don't know whether to be insulted or flattered.

Let's talk about the real great one's=

Like Myron Cohen, Sam Kennison, John Bellushi, Bob Newhart, Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello, Bill Cosby, Redd Foxx, etc, etc.

I got a million of "em and so do they.
