What are your favorite Christmas movies? A few of mine:

A Christmas Carol, the old one with Alistair Sim
Die Hard (yes, it's a Christmas movie)
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (my favorite character is Herbie, the elf who wants to be a dentist)
Elf -- goofball movie but it sticks out for me among recent Christmas movies

A Christmas Carol, the old one with Alistair Sim
Die Hard (no, it's not a Christmas movie, it's a Bruce Willis movie, but I still love it on Christmas)
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (my favorite character is Sam the Snowman, I've always loved Burl Ives folksiness)
The Bishop's Wife (In glorious B&W with Cary Grant - accept no substitutes!)
It's a Wonderful Life (In glorious B&W, I hope they burned all the colorized editions)

Die Hard (absolutely a Christmas movie)
Home Alone (or, the family-friendly Die Hard)
Christmas Vacation
It's a Wonderful Life
I grew up watching the George C. Scott Christmas Carol, so that's my version of choice.

Die Hard, Die Hard 2, Home Alone, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Elf, Miracle on 42nd Street (every version), The Family Man (a version of 4nd Steet), The Santa Clause, Ice Station Zebra (no it isn't a Christmas movie, but saw it the first time on Christmas Day) and Scrooged.

It’s a Wonderful Life is my favorite Christmas film. The hero is an advocate of smoking, female promiscuity (look at his number of children and friendship with the town hooker plus when he realizes his wife is near him naked in public), violence against police (“shut up, Bert, or I’ll hit you again!”), swearing, and disbelief in angels. It still gets rated TV-G every time it airs. The plot and characters are great too.

He believed in the end, that was the secondary point of the movie.

Well, yeah, because it was true. I’m just poking fun, not denying the truth of angels btw. I’m an advocate for them and aspirant myself. Wish there were more good people in the world. But I don’t deny others the right to disbelief. Makes it fun to surprise them. ;)

Not to mention, profligate and irresponsible banking practices. George Bailey, all-around scoundrel. The best Christmas hero until Hans Gruber took Nakatomi Plaza.

Elf, A Christmas story, Love Actually, White Christmas, the original how the grinch stole Christmas
