What's your favorite 90's alternative, grunge, pop punk, post-altetnative, industrial or whatever rock band from the 1990's?

For me its Smashing Pumpkins with Bush close runner up.

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - although they were formed in the 80s, you could argue that the 90s was when they really came into their own.

I think that's true for most of the big 90's groups. Most were formed in the 80's and got big in the 90's, or re-invented themselves such as Social Distortion or Danzig (just using them as examples).

1994. Things of stone and wood.

Why do Nazi's grow like wild flowers.

What an awesome question in our present times.

It's uniquely Australian. I don't expect you to get the time and place that was but for me it smelled like surf board wax and sunscreen and pretty girls on summer nights.

I remember cycling along the beach into Bryon Bay to watch them in concert at a place called 'the piggery' long before they were signed up. Some hippy's dropped me home and fed me full of hooch and their hairy legged daughter.

Happy days.

Yeah, I got to see NIN at Club Nu on South Beach in 90, it was a big restaurant/club where they filmed a lot of scenes from Miami Vice. I had to lie my ass off to get in since I was 13. Marilyn Manson opened for him, but I’d seen them several times in local bars already.

He opened with Terrible Lie and I was in love! :D

No shit.

It's a memory that I cannot erase from my mind.
I was paid to be there, but not enough...

Lots of Manchester indie bands from the late 80s and early 90s. The Stone Roses, James, Inspiral Carpets, The Charlatans, Happy Mondays.

Nine Inch Nails.

Oh, the things I’d have done to/for/with Trent Reznor...

For me, it was NIN, Soundgarden, AIC, Nirvana, and Girls Against Boys (they are the shit).

Skunk Anansie were awesome in the 90's but they seem to have just been completely forgotten.
