Father and daughter meet mother and daughter

I remember a story that started a father watching his daughter play in a team meet a mother who was watching her daughter play in the opposing team. I can't remember the title for the story. That two families in together and the father's house is destroyed by a great falling.

Please can someone give me the title for this. I think it was a series of stories.
