If you enter a story in a contest and it is rejected, does that mean it was rejected just as a contest entry and it can still be submitted as a non-contest story, or does rejection from a contest mean that your story has been rejected altogether by Literotica?

I think, but someone more experienced in contests might correct me, that the story would have been rejected by Literotica for a reason, not just from the contest.

I had a contest entry rejected for being too few words. It was a total rejection.

If the story isn't really appropriate for the contest I think it would still be posted but would get few votes.

We need more information about the story and the rejection message.

Sweet Muff,

You'll want to go to your personal Lit page, you know, that you can get to by saying "Log in" at the top of the index, hit "submissions" hit "view" and it should list your stories. Next to the rejected one will be a blue word "Reason" - click on it and it should answer why it was rejected.

First, find out why it was rejected and then fix the errors.

Second, resubmit the story using the rejected story's page. You click the rejected link, delete the old copy, and then paste in the fixed copy. Do NOT create a 'new' story to submit. The editor will not know that your 'new' story is previously rejected resubmission and the original contest deadline will apply. The deadline for resubmitted rejections depends entirely on how quickly you get it back in. Make sure you change the "description" to "NUDE DAY CONTEST RESUBMISSION" so the editor will see it clearly and not skip past it. Don't forget to press "submit" when you resubmit, otherwise the story will hang out in limbo.

You may or may not get into the contest, but this will guarantee you have more leniency when it comes to getting in past the deadline.
