Hydogen cars

When I first touched on the subject of Hydrogen cars in this thread, I believed like most others that the car itself wasn't just around the corner. I was wrong! The progress made by thoughs serious enough to put their money where their mouths are is unbelievable.

Honda now has a car that is fully Hydrogen fueled and on the road today (at least in some states) in fact the only thing stopping this from being a run away life changing event is the fact that the Hydrogen Highway isn't close to being realised yet.

The humble electric car is another fact of life that we will see more and more of in the coming years. It fasinates me that so many doom sayers out there were wrong about both these vehicles, and makes me wonder how many of them had an hidden agenda when poo pooing these ideas.

There's nothing wrong with the hydrogen car. It's just that, mile for mile, hydrogen is more expensive than gasoline.

As it stands at the moment I would agree with you DR, but there are plans in the works that will one day soon make hydrogen more viable than gas. So just like the car itself it will all take time, only now the insentive to come up with better inventions that can convert water into hydrogen (such as wind power) will be greater.

The electric Car

It looks like 2010 is going to be a big year for the electric car, as quite a few car companies are rolling there's out in that year. The best of the bunch so far, as far as affordability is concerned is from Mercedes.

I don't know about any of you but GM's Volt does nothing for me, it seems Inadequate and not up to the task. That's just my opinion of course, and I might be wrong, in fact I hope I am.

Hybrid cars are also coming into their own, such as the Lexus which looks (at least on paper) to be a very good car.
