It was here! My head turned from side to side, my gray orbs move rapidly about scouring every cobweb invested shelf, every dusty, decaying table top looking for that book. That damn book was my ticket to getting the power that I needed to change the drastic situation of my life. It would prove to my teacher that I was ready for the next stage of my lessons, that I was able to control the more difficult spells that I knew Merlin was holding back on teaching me. I will show then all that I'm no longer that adept Mage they found a few years ago.

Upon my weaving around room to room my gaze falls upon a stairwell that leads down to the next level. Slowly I venture forward, the small little floating ball of light circled above my head giving me a good view of the descending stairs. The upward warm breeze of air was filled with the scent of decaying flesh. I nearly gagged with each step but my determination was stronger than the discomfort of my smelling.

Reaching the bottom I noticed several badly damaged corpses laying about this room. There were two arches leading to different rooms here one was covered with a draw curtain the other one was glowing a slightly green glow.

There that has to be were the book was. I moved over to the archway and to my dismay and glee I could not see into the room beyond. A ward! This giving me even more glee, I cast a protection spell upon myself just incase it was a damaging ward. Pushing my hand through first, I braced myself for a blast that never came about. Smiling I moved forward into...

A woods? What the hell! I slowly spin around and to my shock I don't see the archway, instead I see ... What the hell is that? My eyes follow the line of trees to what appeared to be a bridge of enormous size and it had metal horses crossing it, And horseless carriages. Panic engulfed me as I spun around trying to understand where I was sent for it was obvious to me that I walked into some kind of portal, but most portals ended up in either of the planes not .... not somewhere like this.

I slowly made my way down the line of trees, staying close just incase I needed to dart into them for instant cover. I kept looking up at the bridge watching the horseless carriages with an awe on how fast they were moving and wondering what kind of magic granted them this movement. It peeked my curiosity.

I continued to move along the line of trees till in my vision I spotted a building. It was even strange to my eyes. There were many metal horses at this gathering place and the people dressed very strangely as well. I looked down at my charcoal colored robe and realized that I would stand out with this on, but even my single piece leather armor would even do so more. I had to find some of their clothing so I could move around more freely.

Turning back into the woods I began my quest to find this strange lands attire. It didn't take long before I found another small building that had clothes hanging outside, now that was familiar to me. Quickly I ran to the line pulled off a single dress and ran back into the woods where I proceeded to change.

“Are you sure this is the right place?”

I ignored his question partly because it was distracting and partly because he had asked it several times already. I had asked the church to stop sending me these creatins so I could do my job yet here I was forced to explain my craft to another “priest”.

It was a waste of my time

I pulled my sedan to a stop and looked down at my phone. I once again marveled at how technology had progressed over the years back when I first began honing my craft finding a sorceress or wizard was largely on word of mouth or the church. Nowadays technology and some friends in high places allowed me to search for any magical disturbances or any thing that herald a arrival in a matter of minutes. Thankfully time worked differently when crossing over what happened in mere seconds happened over here over a week. If you were clever you could predict it.

And I was clever

“Luthor” The priest wined from his seat in the back

“Quite you fool” I snapped narrowing my intense green eyes “I am working if you continue I will kill you” I said nodding at the revolver attached to my hip. I didn’t usually wear my weapons so openly but the priest seemed to not like it and it made him more… apt to follow my instructions.

“You will stay here” I said opening the door and looking at the woods “I will take care of the creature and perform last rites”

“Buts that’s my job”

“I don’t give a damn father” I said popping open the door and getting out “stay” I commanded before slamming the door shut and walking over to my trunk. I grabbed my petticoat and slid it on pausing to grab a few tools of the trade. I sent a quick prayer asking for a swift hunt and then turned making my way into the woods.

I picked up the trail easily enough. The entire woods was still buzzing with mystical energy. The creature slash person wasn’t covering there tracks more than likely because they were unaware as to were they were. I felt for whoever it was (though judging by the scent I had to guess a woman) but my mission mandate still stood as it had for almost a thousand years.

Ever since I failed

I stepped into the clearing and stopped cocking my head to listen “I can sense you” I said kneeling down pulling out a small leather bag and placing it on the ground “Come out!”

What was that? I asked myself as I peered through some heavy foliage. My grey orbs searching where I thought I heard a bang and a voice, but I didn’t see anything. It must have been my imagination, my nerves were highly strung and everything seemed to be crowding inward upon me. My chest was heavy and the lump in my throat was about to strangulate me. Shaking my head I finished putting on the dress, it was a bit to big on me but at least I was in their attire.

Footsteps? I slowly lower my frame down into the foliage. My mind spinning on what actions I should take if this person found me. Do I tell them where I’m from or some other story about me getting lost in this forest. Do I try and use my magic here? Does my magic even work here? Damn, why didn’t I try my magic earlier! I cursed myself for being stupid.

Relax Liz, breath Liz, focus Liz, Damn, I’m now mimicking my mentors words ever time he put me under pressure to test my skill at choosing what spell to use in certain circumstances and I always told him to shut the hell up. Now what I wouldn’t do to hear him muttering those words to me now! I raised my palm up and prepared to cast a spell when I realized I lost my ingredient pouch. SHIT! Cursing myself once again for not tying the damn thing to my belt like he taught me!

The voice was that of a man, telling me that he knew I was here and to come on out. I wondered if he really detected me or was just saying that so I would just pop up and say here I am. I’m a fool in my mentor’s eye right now but I’m not this man’s fool yet!

Damn! My bra wrap was a little tighter than I liked it but was necessary to keep my coin pouch from falling out. Hmm, I wonder if he would take a few bronze coins to leave me be? That was always an option, but knowing my luck he would want gold! Something I didn’t have! So I did the next best thing. I ignored his command to come out. I remained crouched in the foliage..

I sighed shaking my head “do you see this bag” I called again pointing down “its magic from this world specifically a hex bag I don’t like using such crude devices but they work and they work well” I said my bright green eyes scanning the foliage once more.

“So what does it do? Well basically if I crush the bag it will release a scent a scent that will attract every animal in a fifty mile radius” I said pulling out my revolver “see this? It’s a gun will basically kill any thing that comes at me you on the other hand my dear will not because if you had your magic you would have used it by now”

“You have until the count of three before I crush the bag” I said counting and placing my boot on the bag “starting now!”

What is a gun? I shrugged my shoulders, to me it looked like a rather large paper weight. My mentor had many of those things and they were nothing more than holding down the piles of parchment on his desk. I smirk at this man's lame boasting of his power. I would show him power if I had my regents. Then there is that bag, but hell the animals he called would be a danger to him as well, umm unless he was a Druid or well summoned animals are under the caller's control for a short period of time.

Damn! I look around and wonder if I could sprint away. Looking down at the forest floor shaking my head. It would be an agility escape and well, lets just say I'm not a very good burglar so that would be out of the question. besides he only gave me a count of three..

Slowly I rose from my hiding place, brushing back some of the brunette strands out of my face and out of my mouth. I put my hands up as I cleared the foliage. "Okay, no need for violence. I have a few bronze coins I can give to you if you just go your merry way." my voice shaking with the newly felt fear...

“Bronze coins?” I said shaking my head and chuckling “Ah I know what world you are from I have had your kind before mostly males though one recently who seemed to get the slip from me”

“No matter” I said pushing the gun back into my holster “I wont let the same mistake happen with you” I said simply moving forward and grabbing her arm. I pulled her into the clearing and stepped back eyeing her up and down. She was pretty much more alluring then the forces he usually dealt with most witches were feral especially when crossing over yet she seemed to be clam and level headed.

Which sent a burst of relief through me

“I need to get you out of here” I murmured keeping a grip on her arm “we must move quickly” I said moving her into the forest and beginning to walk with her.

“My name is Michelangelo” I said as we dived into the forest “I am immortal a hunter ordained by the church to seek out unholy creatures and dispose of them for years whenever some one like you has appeared on our plane of existence I have hunted them down and killed them”

I frowned when the man began to chuckle at my offering, but that was all the coinage I had. But then it donned on me when he continued to talk that coinage wasn’t what he was after, he was on a quest. When he spoke of other from my world I wanted to ask him if they came through in this spot, but before I could say a word he was yanking me around by my arm.

I felt his eyes traveling down my frame. I shuddered with the thoughts that was rampaging my mind. He put a deeper fear in me as he continued to evaluate my curves. I wanted to pull away but his grip seemed to respond to each quiver my arm made, I doubt I could even break away. Damn me for working my mind more than my physical aspects.

Again he yanked me to walk with him toward the forest. He mumbled something about getting me out of here as if I was in some kind of trouble. I only knew of one thing that was my trouble aspect and that was him. I tested his grip and as I feared it was like a grip from a stone golem. So I did what he wanted, I walked with him.

“My name is Elizabeth McKnight, Michel” I stammered as he guided me through the forestry. “Where are we going and what are we running from?” I had to ask for my nerves were on the brink of breaking. My heart was pounding from the fear that was sweeping across my chest.

“The church has started to catch on to my new feelings” I said stopping in the forest to turn and face her “thy have seen a priest with me some one who would no doubt kill you if given the chance he is a spine of a man who even you could take without any magic but I have no wish to start raking up bodies”

“I have no doubt you are very confused about what is going on and this world” I said giving her a sympathetic look “I am sorry we do not have more time to explain but I prefer to get you some where safe before we continue please follow me”

I turned picking my way through the woods soon my careful studying of the map pulled off and we were in the small little town just off of where she crossed over. I used my coat to cover my weapons and took her hand again guiding her to a small dinner and going to a booth in the back.

“We should be safe here for now” I murmured looking at her “your bronze coins aren’t any good here” I explained flashing her my dollars “paper money” I explained.

I sat down with this man whom claimed to be a hunter, in what I would guess to be in my time a tavern, however, there were no wenches showing their breasts, they were fully clothed. There were no drunks grabbing and pulling the wenches down upon them. There wasn’t even a bard anywhere in sight what a strange place. Then he showed my their valued currency and it astonished me. Paper! Everyone must be rich here!

I looked at him, “If I may you said earlier that the church started to catch on to your feelings.” I looked at him quizzically, “Was these feelings addressed to the one's that were coming from the portals? Were many that came through the portals human? For in my world when you spoke of portals it was demons that came through.” I was worried that maybe I was in the company of a worshiper to those fiery beast of the abyss.

I looked over his shoulder as a few people came and went, leaving that paper stuff on the tables. How strange, that would never work from where I came from, many a thieves lurked about. It was all just so strange here. He was right I was confused and totally astonished as well. One thing that impressed me was in my world everyone carried and showed they were carrying weapons, here they didn’t and when they did they hid them as this Michelangelo has done. “Why do you hide your weapons? Isn’t it wise to show strength to curve the thieves away?” I asked with a very confused look upon my face.

Mike looked around when she began to speak of portals, demons, and the term in her world. "Hey listen to me!" he leaned over the table with an stern look. "You need to quit babbling about your world and comparing things from this world to your world. Shit like magic and all that stuff from your world don't exist here and your babbling like this will eventually reach the church. So shut up about it." He pulled back and wiped his mouth.

Mike took a deep breath, "I'm sorry I know you are confused but we don't really have time for this see when I came looking for you I had to ditch one of the fathers..."He held up his hand to her.. "I had to leave behind one of the priests from a local church to come find you. He more than likely called the bishop by now and they have sent another hunter to look for you and I." he looked out the window for a few moments then back at her. "We need to stay calm and if you have something you need to know about this world wait till we are alone then ask me but when there are other people around don't say anything until you understand this world better."

He looked at her to see if she understood how important it was for her to do as he says.

I noticed Mike looking around somewhat agitated and them all of a sudden he barks at me to listen to him. My brow arches when he leans over the table and begins to insult my method of comparing the differences between both worlds as if that was some sort of sacrilege. I begin to wonder if I haven’t been captured by a crazed barbarian whom hates everything and everyone wielding magic. But yet that doesn’t explain all the strange things I have seen or seeing as I watch some of those horseless carriages pass by the window. I lower my eyes when he tells me to just shut up about everything and not to mention the things of my world. Anger fills my lungs as I wanted to show him it isn’t wise to piss off a mage.. I ease up when mike slides back across the table, wiping the spittle from his mouth.

I look over to him from my gazing out the window, the anger slowly fading from me as he gives me his apology. His outburst makes more sense to me when he begins to explain that my wording of my world would bring attention to me from those whom heard me speaking in that manner, then the word would get to the church and we would be found and dealt with by the church, which is strange for in my world you always went to the clergy to seek sanctuary, what a strange place. I say to myself as Mike informed me to do. I shall ask him of this when we are alone. I look over to the counter and point with my finger. “Do you have enough paper to get a piece of that pie?” My stomach grumbles with a small amount of hunger, it has been awhile since I have eaten anything and the smells of food here is just making it worse.

Mike, “You never did answer my question about the church learning of your feelings towards the things that came from …. Out of town.” I whispered still wanting to know if I should fear him just incase he was one of those demon worshipers whom seek females like myself to use as their pleasure toys. I shall fight wildly if this happens to be the case about him. I allow my orbs to lock upon him as I search his eyes for any hint of ill will toward me.

Mike almost chuckled when the question came across the table if he had enough paper to get her a piece of the pie that she spotted in the display. “Sure I think I can swing that for you, but wouldn’t you like a meal before desert?” He asked her with a much calmer tone of voice. He was a bit rough on her, for she hasn’t really done anything to him but he was punishing her for things that has been happening to him here lately. If fact, he was being this way toward her for she was very appealing, not to mention she was so innocent that he knew if he was to be nice he would want more from her and that was asking for trouble.

He waved for a waitress to come over to take his order. Upon finishing the order for the two of them, he added the pie to be brought over when they were done with the meal, that way it would still be warm for her to eat. He looked back over to Liz and the way she was still looking at the pictures of the food on the menu. Shaking his head with a little humor, she was a young adult in her world but here she was like a toddler learning things from the beginning.

“No Liz, I have only a few people come through these portals. Some I helped get back home, Some wanted to stay so I helped them to fit in and start a new life here. Mostly I have captured your so called Demons and have turned them over to the Church or I have managed to get them banished back to whence they came. The past two times this has happened it has been people that I have helped which brought the church’s attention towards me.” Scott stopped talking when the food was placed before them. He nodded to the waitress and thanked her…

I looked up to Mike when he spoke of having enough paper to get me the pie but wanted to know if I wanted a meal first before desert. My brow furrowed in thought as I considered the pie to be my evening meal. But I suppose I could try eating a little more than normal for I was rather hungry. I smiled to him and nodded my approval. I allowed my gaze to wonder over the small number of patrons here to see what they were eating. There was this one man eating a huge sandwich that looked really good. I pointed toward the man to indicate what I wanted , pleased to see a small nod of understanding.

I feel his eyes upon me so I look over this thing called a menu to see the way he was looking at me. I have seen this look many a time when I entered a tavern in my world. It was all the same when it came to the sex of man. I chuckle for a few minutes before I lower my eyes back down into the menu. I have to admit he wasn’t a bad looking man, a little forward and arrogant but those qualities were great while fucking. I bite my lip with the thought of him handling me flashes across my eyes.

I look back up when he begins to speak answering my question about the church and them finding out about his feelings for the things that was coming out of the portal. His words were comforting knowing it was demons he was stopping but helping helpless souls like me. When he told me he was able to help get one back to their world, my attention became impeccable as for this is what I want, but he didn’t go into detail before telling me that the other one stayed here. Which at the moment I didn’t care about that. I wanted to know how the other person got aback to their world. “Please tell me about the one that went back. Can you tell me how or where you took them to do this?” I was overly excited now, I so badly wanted to go back and if Mike knew how I could do so well that is what I’m going to do…

The fact came out a little faster this time than the ones before her. He just found out by her excited response of wanting to go back that her coming here was one of accident and not something she has casted to get here on her own like the others before her. The last one admitted coming here to escape a sure death at the hands of an evil demon so she was able to cast this portal to come here, only after a few days she wanted to go back for she had family. He understood that and help her to go back by getting some of the things she needed to be able to cast the spell again, however, she seemed more knowledgeable in many things than this one does. He could be wrong so He will once again get the stuff she needs so she can go back.

"Sure I can get the stuff you need to cast the spell to go back, but it cost a lot of paper which I don't have at the moment so it will be awhile before your able to go back. Not to mention some of the things you need is hard to find so that may even take more time." I try to explain to her. I hated to kill that excitement that she showed but what other choice did I have?

It was only a few moments when the waitress delivered the huge monster hamburger and fries. I pushed hers over to her along with the drink that I hope she would like. I moved the mustard and Ketchup over to her as well before grabbing my plate and dragging it in front of me..."Eat it's damn good!"

I looked over to Mike with wide eyes as I look at this huge sandwich and those funny stringy things that were curled up like a snake. I swallowed hard when he pushed this yellow and red bottle towards me. I look at his plate and see the stuff as he dips the stringy things into red and orange blob that was now turning into an orange blob of goop. I have to turn away as he eats this proclaimed food of his. I not wanting to be unthankful toward him, I took one of the things and followed his example. I brought the stuff up and took a very small bite. My brows rise up, as it tasted good, but a little spicy.

I eventually adventure in eating a few bites of the huge sandwich and that was good as well but just way more than I am able to ear. I feel as if my belly was going to split open. I push the plate away, looking over to Mike as he finishes the meal. I wonder where he put it all but I refrained from asking him. I look into his eyes and wonder what he really thought of my situation and me. According to him, I wasn’t safe on this world either. “Well, if I’m going to be here for awhile is there any Sages or libraries around that I may get some books and read up on this world?” I asked him. I really do want to learn more about this world for it seems very interesting.

“I have another problem.” I stated to him. “Ummm, These are the only clothes I have and….” As I pull my shirt out and look down, I’m am floating free and wish to be a little bit snugger.” I say looking back up to him with a serous look upon my face. “Would there be away that I may go to the Bazaar and buy some clothes?” I smile shyly.

Mike could only chuckle upon Elizabeth’s reactions to eating her dinner. She only took several bites before she looked pale in the face, and was ready to toss her dinner, he could only guess she was a little bit over the full line. He had to admit at least she tried to eat without a bunch of what is this, or this stinks to much as some of the others had said. He could even now remember everything they bitched about to the word. He was so happy when he got away from the warlock that came through. He never wanted to deal with one of their kind again, talk about being unstable.

Mike’s train of though dissipated when she looked directly into his eyes for a longest amount time before she spoke up. His brow arched when she asked for a sage, He chuckled lightly, but then she asked for a library and he nodded, “Yeah, There are a few around here, Libraries that is.” he smiled at her. “So, are you thinking about staying now?” When she exclaimed that she wanted to know more of this world. That didn’t bother him she was a very attractive young woman, with a good sense of humor.

Once again his brow arced upward when she mentioned a Bazaar, “Umm, None of those around here, but we do have Wal-mart!” He exclaimed with a chuckle. “it’s a super store that has almost everything that you would want. IF they don’t have what your looking for there are other stores that we can go to.” He informed her. Although he had to speak the truth if asked, he liked how she was floating free as she put it. But he remained a gentlemen and didn’t comment.

“Well, Lets go. I will take you to Wal-mart so you can find the thing you need.” He stood up and offered his arm to her. “If I may.” He smiled at her…

I frown when Mike told me there was no Bazaar what we could go to, but he mentioned a Wal-mart instead and that I could find what I needed there. I smiled at the thought of having my breasts bound closer to my body than what is going on with them now. I smile when he stands and offers me his arm. I nod while I stand and take his offered arm. I can feel my face getting warm letting me know that I am blushing. I can feel the muscles in his thick forearm. He looks rather normal to the eyes, but just by the feel of his steel like forearm, I knew he is much more.

“So Mike, can we get the stuff for that spell at this Wal-mart?” I ask quizzically and hopefully. The look on his face as he looked over at me told me what I needed to know. I wasn’t getting home anything soon. Deep down I guess I really didn’t mind staying here. I have never been with a guy before and it was actually fun being with him. I looked up again into his face. “When we are done there can we go one of those libraries you told me about? I really do want to learn all that is going on in this world.” My excitement showing in my face as think of all he marvelous things I will learn.

“Mike, these hunters you talk about from the clergy. Do any of them use magic themselves?” I wanted to know for if they did, I had to find away to get my magic to work here or they were in a lot of trouble. I didn’t really want to face a witch hunter without my magic… It would be very bad, very bad indeed. I can recall the last time I seen one fighting with our village elder. It was astounding to see such power, but frightening as well for there was so much damage done to the land and everything else that was caught in the blasts… I shiver as I get a remembered vision of the battle…

Mike looked over at her with a sad face, shaking no head about the spell ingredients. It would be nice if they were there for he would get them and get her home before the other hunters picked up on her magical aura. He witnessed the sad expression that formed over her face but was taken back when she looked back up at him with a small smile. It seemed as if she had thought of something good that might come out of this staying a little longer in this world. He wanted to ask for he was curious but she fired another question toward him.

“Sure we can go to them it might surprise you on how much there is to learn over here. There is a lot of technology here that you don’t have in your world. Hell I don’t even know all things about this world that is why everyday is an adventure.” He gave her a small smile while walking her out of the dinner. He had to get back to his SUV but the priest there would be a problem. Mike pondered for a few moments before deciding what he was to do with the guy. He decided the best bet would be to drop him off without a phone on the far side of the city exit. To make sure that it would take him time to notify the Clergy.

He looked at her with a slight nodding of his head. “Yes they do and it’s going to be a very long and hard journey to get you back. They will find us they always find their mark, but that doesn’t mean they automatically win these battles. Like I told you I have managed to hide on and get one aback so its not impossible but it is going to be very hard.. Your going to wish you never came over here. They are without morals and rules. Its always best to run and avoid them than to fight them.” He put his hand upon hers as they got closer to the SUV…

I looked down to the ground when Mike told me the news about the hunters. My life seemed to be just a continuing nightmare with each passing hour things just seemed to get worse. I have to find some regents that will help me use my magic to protect me and I feel even Mike may need my protection. I can see the worry in his face but not forsure if this worry is for me or for himself. I would be flattered if it was for me for in my world the power that I wield normally turns men away unless they also have the power of magic but then it gets to be whom is more powerful so I tend to stray from the men whom holds the ability to cast arcane spells.

I grin at his words that there is more knowledge here that she could possibility learn, this was an exciting challenge although I would hate to learn all of this and make him feel unwanted for that would be further from the truth. I just want the knowledge to walk around normally like most people here so I don’t stick out. Maybe that will help me hide from these hunters. I will feel much better knowing of this world and have the ability to defend us. I just hope that my endeavor to learn more gets us into more trouble than we already are. I can see the distraught in his face about the priest when we walk up to the SUV..

I smile at him when he takes my hand. I don’t know if its like the last time when we ran or if he umm his getting to like me and wants to know how I will react to his touching. I don’t move my hand from his. I savor the feel of his muscular hand gripping mine. I began to feel this slight burning between my legs for I begin to wonder if his body is as muscular as his hand is.. I make myself blush with the thoughts that fly across my mind .. “Mike, umm.” My voice is rasped from the images of him naked holding me in his arms.. “Mike, Maybe we should just allow him to leave we can be gone before he can inform anyone… I don’t want to hurt men of he cloth.. it’s a bad path to travel when there are times you need them.” I know I speak of my world but I am set in my was when it comes to them…

Mike looked over at her when her words seemed a little forced, he wondered if she was coming down ill with the foul air of this world compared to her own. She continues to talk about the letting the priest go. He had to chuckle for the priest here didn’t have the magic spells of healing here as in her world. These men were just as corrupted, sex scheming as anyone else was. He didn’t want to upset her so he nodded his agreement. While tapping her hand. “Okay, We will take him farther out of town so it will take him longer to get back. He will be pissed but alive.” Mike replied with a soft tone.

He opened the door for her and moved back over to the drivers side. Sliding to his seat he shot a glance toward her. Smiling as she looked at him. “We will take him out a few miles than head out of town as we talked about.” He didn’t want to say where they were really going for they needed the time they could get. Even then he didn’t think it was going to be enough. These hunters were not your average gents walking around with ancient weapons with skill as they all had.

The drive was peaceful, he enjoyed watching her when ever he could, missing a few close calls with the curbs on some turns but that was the worse of his distracting glances at her. He wondered how she was feeling as she watched the cities activities and people walking about. She seemed really quite as if she was in deep thought for she didn’t ask much about what was going on around them. Maybe the thought of the hunters were weighting heavy upon her mind. “Liz are you okay?” He asked with a slight concern upon his face…

I smile at Mike when he informs me that he will let the priest go a few miles out of town. “Thank you.” I whisper to him, pleased he was thinking clearly enough to make a wise decision. I just hope that the priests realizes that I have helped him to live a little longer and just maybe he will not turn us into the Hunters. My inner voice interrupted that thought with a laugh. The minute he gets to where he can tell them the Hunters would be on their way tracking me down. I shiver at the thought of these warlocks getting their hands on me.

I smile as he opens the door to the horseless carriage. The inside is overwhelming with all the buttons and gadgetry everywhere; my mind goes back to the Tinker gnomes of my world for they would love to have this carriage for a few days. I feel the home sick hit me as my mind travels over the lands of the gnomes for it’s just a few leagues away from my home. I fight back the tears I feel building up in my eyes. I wipe them hoping Mike do not see my weakness.

He got in on the other side, my gaze moved from the gadgetry to him. His smile brings warmth to me and eases the homesickness that has stricken me. He reassured me that we was going to let him go just a little farther away from the town, which was fine with me I just didn’t want Mike to kill the priest that was my only concern. “That’s fine Mike. He will live as you say. That is all that I was concerned about.” I reinforce his decision with my own acceptance.

I watched as the carriage moved about the town. There was so much that I was fascinated about had no idea what I was looking at. I ensured myself that once Mike got me to a library I would learn of this world and become one of its loyal subjects. My eyes couldn’t catch it all as we passed but I didn’t want to hit Mike with a lot of questions what come clear to me soon enough. I turn and look at him with a smile as he asked if I was feeling ok… “Just a little homesick, but other than that I’m fine Mike.” I reach over and put my hand on his thigh smiling at him… “I will be okay once I begin to understand this world and come accustomed to it.” I ensured him that I would not be in this stupor for long…

Mike looked over at her when she put her hand upon his thigh but she was looking out the window when he looked over at her. He just smiled and drove on. He wondered if she even realized what she was doing, that was all he needed was her to be a tease. Well it didn’t really matter he didn’t thank they would have time to start anything anyway for the hunter were already out looking for her. Her hand felt soft upon his lap and it really felt good to be touched by another. He wondered if she had anyone important to her on the other side and this was a touch of comfort instead of what he was hoping it to be..

“So is there someone special in your life over there?” He asked her softly not wanting to sound like he was desperate for her touch or anything but he did want know before he pursued this feeling he was getting from her and for her. Was it just the desire that he was feeling for she was beautiful and very appealing. She was soft spoken and the seemingly lost attitude was somewhat appealing as well. He was never one of those genius walking around knowing all, but with her he felt at least he could hold a conversation with her until she started to spout off about things on her side which she hasn’t done for some time now.

A few miles out they pulled over and allowed the Priest to get out. “Inform them not to come for her. I will find a way to get her back and if not she is not here to harm anyone. Does this and I wont come for you later.” He drilled the priest before taking off back down the road. He found a cross road and turned left he was going around the big block and reenter the city from the south side. That way they will be under their noses for some time before they had to move again. Now he just had to find a place for them to hide out. He knew of one place but it has been so long since he was there that he didn’t even know if it was still in business or not.

“So I promised you a Library.” He drove till he found one of the Libraries on the south side. Pulling over he took her inside. “There you go all the reading you can do..” He smiled when her face lit up and took off looking at all the books. He found a nice soft chair for he knew he was going to be here a very long time…

My eyes grow wide as I look at all the books! I could spend years here reading all that this library had to offer. The books are weird compared to my world but they are a lot cleaner and easier to read than most of the handwriting ones that I am used too. I read many of the magazines that Mike tells me they are called for they seemed to touch more on the everyday knowledge that I am looking to learn the other books are more for enjoyment of reading. But I learn about the horseless carriage is not called a car. It runs off combustible fuel called gasoline and other things that will help me understand what I am seeing and learning. I spend only a few hours here for I can see Mike dozing off from obvious boredom.

I read for several hours of things that I have already seen in my small amount of time that I have been here. Mike tells me to read about these things called computers and the internet for then I can have all this knowledge in this very unique piece of equipment. So I do as he suggested and I’m amazed at the ummm technology of this world. I even read up on things called the cell phones and Androids that are like mini computers. Once I come to an understanding of these I feel like now I can use this computer and find out all I want about this world where Mike is going to be taking me.

After I have finished using this computer here I can see Mike sleeping uncomfortably in a chair. I walk up to him and place my hand upon his shoulder. “Mike, I have enough information to leave and learn as we go. I have used their computer to study about things that are going on and come to an understanding that I will be learn things all my life if I stay here.” I smile at him. “Please lets go ahead and go to where you think we will be safe and then I can continue to learn on the computer that you have.” I smile once more at him. He looks so cute waking up and being a little off for that is how I am every morning! I slightly chuckle watching him blinking his eyes rather quickly trying to ward off the slumber.

Mike woke to the feeling of someone’s hand lightly shaking his shoulder. His eyes popped open to see Elizabeth smiling at him. Her words came to him in a soft tone. “Yes sure we can go. “ Mike yawned, pushed himself up from the chair that was his bed for over several hours. Stretching, he studied her face for any signs that there was more that she wanted but was only met with a smiling face. He nodded, “Okay, well lets go.” His hand coming to the small of her back as lead her out of the Library and back to the SUV.

The trip to the safe house was only a half hour trip due to traffic and all, but the small house was on the South east of the city in a very small, quite suburban residential area. It wasn’t a fabulous house but it was a decent one. It was clean and had a private fence that surrounded the backyard. It had three bedrooms and two baths which made it a little more spacey for the both of them. He didn’t want to crowd her to much to where she resented being near him. “Well it isn’t much but here is home.” I smile at her while putting up some of my equipment. We can go to the store here in a while. I want to get you set up with some things before we go.

Mike moved over and turned on the computer and printer. He showed her how to use the device incase she wanted to print out whatever she found interesting. He really just wanted to give her something to do so that he could make some secret calls to people and hopefully find some of these items she needed to cast the spell that would get her home. He also wanted to get away from her for the feelings that was beginning to build down below was increasing the more he looked at her beauty and that wicked innocent persona of hers.

“I will go and get us something to drink. Why don’t you set down and work on your studying. I have a few calls to make and see if I can get some leads on the things you need for that spell. He nodded when she smiled at him. He walked in back and made the calls and as he feared it was going to be harder than he expected. He looked over at the tv and that was something else he could help keep her from getting too bored and well it can help he understand the world just as much as the computer does with all the nature shows and other things that are on these days.

He made his way to the computer room when he heard her watching some kind of movie…
