I'm a first time writer in the realm of fiction. I've had many informative and technical articles posted over the years, however, so I'm not entirely new to writing.
Fiction writing has been infinitely harder for me. I've gone over and edited this story several times, cutting things because I tend to be far too loquacious. Yet somehow I wind up with more total words each time I think I'm done! LOL
I've caught several verb tense swaps- I'm sure I've missed more. I've run it through Grammarly and done the best I can on my own. But I'm no editor.
I could really use another pair of eyes to tell me if I'm still being too wordy, catch the things I missed because *I* knew what I meant, and give me suggestions on how to improve my writing overall. No one likes criticism, but without it, how does one ever improve?
My story titled "Sexual Healing." It is 4600 words long. It is a snippet from a larger story I'm writing- the snippet with sex in it, of course! It is about an energy healer who is battling a plague. She draws energy from contact with other people, but sex is the easiest and safest way for her to recharge. Her old flame comes to her rescue and whisks her away for some sexual healing.
