fantasy or freak?

Hi there,

I'm really new at this and i'm just a little worried.

Ever since i can remember i've had a fantasy of being "raped".

Is there something wrong with me?

Is this a sick fantasy to have or am i not alone?

No, I don't think so. The main thing to remember, of course, is the thing we seem to be trying to ignore/forget in our societies - there is a BIG difference between fantasy and reality. I think a lot of fantasies are based in what we wish for and what we know, twisted into something we find pleasing to the libido. Certainly, I've known a number of survivors of child abuse who fantasize about both rape and BDSM. Now, some of them also practice BDSM, and find it enjoyable - others have no interest in doing so and may even find their fantasies disturbing.

I think rape fantasies can be separated into what we wish for (revenge on the abuser), and what we know (we were assualted, so it's natural to have assault fantasies). But, as I said, the extremely important thing to remember is that this is a fantasy - not an attractive reality.

Anyhow, that is my view from personal experience of friends - on and off net - who have had rape/bdsm fantasies. Frankly, most if not all of them have been fully functional, pleasant and intelligent individuals who would not commit any major criminal act in reality (ie, we've all jaywalked etc occassionally, but nothing more than that). I am not, however, a trained counselor or psychologist, so can only speak from personal opinion and experience of friends. And free opinion is worth what you pay for it.
