I have pretty high standards.. but not so much in the looks, money, or any other material department (though that doesn't mean I don't have some standards). There are certain characteristics and mannerisms that just grate on my nerves and unfortunately, a lot of guys have them. The ones I find that don't, I make a move on, and I get turned down. I've never really "dated" and the last serious relationship I had was 3 years ago.

Just wanted to let you know that I understand. I have certain standards when it comes to relationships with women. And most of the women that I've asked out have shot me down, too. I know well all of the feelings that go with the situation. But it is better to be without someone than to be with the wrong someone. (Especially when you know that it's the wrong someone.)
I hope you're not discouraged by any of it. I've been turned down, I've been the one that turns down, and I can say this: It is most often not personal. Sometimes it's just bad timing. Sometimes it just doesn't feel right (and it does need to feel right.) Sometimes (s)he's just not on the market.

I truly appreciate your support for me. It's nice to know I'm not the only one going through this sorta thing. I'm happy with my life how it is... I don't necessarily need someone to be in it. I'm just at a point in my life where I'd like to share my experiences with someone. So part of me is always actively looking, just on the fly chance I spot someone I find worthy.
