1. Invent setting, and players, and set them loose to tell the story.
2. Work from a predetermined script, like a journal, and proceed. And
3. Visualize an ending and let the story build to that finale.

An ending in #3 may be an event or even only an image. See a 5-some locked in an oral daisychain: who are they and how did they get there? Working backwards, it's easy.
