You had been in the car all day hearing your mom and dad talk, reliving stories with a couple they had known from college. These were the people you were going to visit that night and stay at their house. The upside was that they lived close to the beach so tomorrow you would head out. The down side was going to be listiening to the same stories for the millionth time. They did have a son who you remember being pretty cute the last time you saw him. But that was back when we were both like 10 years old and neither one of you could figure out if the opposite sex was really gross or not! Now that you were both older things might be different.
I had summer soccer practice... two a days to start summer. I knew that I was supposed to be home for dinner soon and was frustrated when one of my team mates pissed off the coach. This meant extra laps at the end of practice. After my laps I slipped my cleats off and headed to my jeep.
I walked in for dinner about 20 minutes late. Most of the sweat had evaporated but I was still a little "pumped" from the work out. I was wearing a shirt that I tore the sleaves off of and a pair of soccer shorts with flip flops.
I walked in the dinning room and said hello to all. Pausing when I saw Kim noticing how.. cute... no not cute... pretty... no not pretty... "dang she was kinda hot" i thought to myself. I made eye contact and said, "Kim its so good to see you again"
I then turned to my mom, "Hey I am going to get cleaned up really quick... I will be right back". She replied, "Hurry up son"
