Family Fights for Ivermectin for Dying Loved One, Courts Say ‘No.’

If he's that far gone, IVM likely wouldn't help. From what I've heard and read, it's most efective early in an infection.

Sorry, but why are government courts involved in this man's healthcare?

This is the real problem.

Somewhere along the line, the guy's doctor decided that "his expert opinion" is more important than the guy's Right to make decisions about his own healthcare. And then the courts stepped in it too.

If you're that far gone, IV or HQ wouldn't matter

Probably should've just take. The virus more seriously and been more careful.

Besides...the drugs the doctors want to treat him with are much more effective, which is why they are prescribed

If you are not in a position to make decisions about your treatment (and you haven't made a deposition allowing someone else to take such decisions for you) technically no family member can do it.

If the family disagree with the medics? A court has to decide in the best interests of the patient. They are unlikely to overrule medical judgements.
