Jon Barris took of his marine uniform and hang it on the chair in his room. He had only been home about one hour. He wasn't very dissapointed. His dad was away on one of his long business trips. They weren't close anyway. Not since Jon had caught him in bed with one of mom's best friends. The infidelity led to Thomas and Jane Barris divorce three years earlier. One year after the divorce Thomas remarried with a very attractive redhead. Her name was Kimberly and was 35 at the time of the marriage. She had a daughter and they both lived with his father.
Jon was now 19 years old and had some relieve time from the marines to attend his mothers funeral. He found it strange that both Kimberly and her daughter Sheryl had welcomed him as warm as they did and his dad wasn't decent enough to be home to be at the funeral.
