Taking a Loooong look at history, both past present and future...Judging from what is going on know and what thongs have yet to happen, what they will soon become. I think that the Falong Gong stand a good chance of become the major religion of the future a long time from now in the future, looking at the long-term arc of religious beliefs. When comparing and contrasting the Falong Gong's current repression by much of the World thanks to China, I see certain similarities to their plight and that of the early Christians crushed by the brutal weight of the early Roman Empire.
500- 1,000 years from now the only major thing communist China may be known form,, the only reason it will be remembered by the history books of the future will probably be because their bloody campaign at crushing dissent helped forge a major world-wise religion.
These new adherents, those of the future, may look back at all of is accusingly, wondering why we didn't do anything to help, to stop the destruction of these future "saints' (in their opinion). Just as many Christians probably look back at Rome and wonder why the people did very little to aid Jesus and the other original prophets from being executed.
