This is the Out Of Character discussion thread for an upcoming group story based in the Fallout universe.

The current cast consists of Darkpsy1986, Aliceinchains36, and myself. If any of you would like to step up and join in then let us know here and we'll see if we can work you in. Otherwise just sit back and enjoy the show.

On to the first order of business, location, does anyone have a preference for where we set the game? Personally I would like Boston as it has synths, which are an interesting addition to the world and aren't really seen much elsewhere.

I'm probably going to play a wastelander from out of Boston so he can scream like a little girl the first time he runs in to a synth.

Wouldn't a wastelander already have seen synths? And probably not scream like a girl lol

The idea is he's not from Boston, he's seen the locals and how much they fear synths, but he just thinks there some made up boogeymen. And he won't actually scream like a girl, though he will definitely loose his composure when he finally sees one.

I love the Fallout Franchise ... I had the nintendo, the sega, the artari (though that was my father's) ... then stopped playing games and then Fallout 3 was shown to me and now I have to play that game once a year, heavily modded, and New Vegas and now Fallout 4 ....

That makes sense lol. I'm thinking I'll be a wastelander who grew up in the commonwealth, unless no one else is a vault dweller.

We'd be happy to have you join us

Boston setting sounds cool. I can play a deserted bos soldier who turned scavenger.

M'kay, got distracted for a bit but time to get the show on the road, so without further faffing about here's my character. Once you guys have something similar down we'll figure out how to kick it off.

Name: Caito
Gender: Male
Description:
Caito is, simply put, physically imposing, standing in at just over 6'6 and damn near as wide as a child is tall, all his life hes been blessed with size, speed, power and durability, and the patchwork of new and old scars that cover his tanned hide do nothing to soften his image. Once you get past the impact of his silhouette, hes not that terrible a looker, his hair is a messy mop of dirty blond that clearly only gets cut whenever part of it gets in his way, though he tends to pay more attention to keeping his beard under control so its generally little more than stubble. His face is fairly standard and angular with a strong jawline, a nose that’s clearly been broken once or twice and a par of hazel eyes, if it wasn’t for the long scar stretching from the bridge of his nose across the right side of his face he would look downright bland from the neck up.

Background:
Born in to Caesars legion, Caito had an easy time of a hard life, the legion doesn’t make for a safe and friendly place to grow up, but Caitos aggression and physical power not only kept him near enough to the top of the hill to be comfortable, but also marked him out to the legion as having potential. That didn’t change the fact that he was a slave, a privileged slave, but a slave none the less, from a young age he was worked, trained, beaten, beaten, broken and rebuilt in to a violent and loyal legionary. The legion was his home and in it Caito excelled, on the battlefield he was a natural, inclose or at range, and sure some times they had to do something he didn’t really like, like decimate a population or crucify some people, but that saved lives in the long run, or at least that’s what they told him, not that he could say no and not get a bullet to the head anyway, being a slave sucks like that.

Everything changed in New Vegas, the legion had been unstoppable, everything fell before it, but then, they failed, Caesar made a show of executing those in charge of course, but the damage was done, the tide had been pushed back for the first time and it showed weakness in their infallible leader. Maybe, just maybe, Caito didn’t have to be a murderous slave for him, after all, if he could be beaten, he could be killed, and you cant be the slave of a dead man.

Caito grew, and as he grew so did his skill in killing the legions enemies, so much so that by the time of the second push in to the New Vegas area 4 yeahs later, Caito had made his way in to the ranks of Caesars own Praetorian guard, and during the second battle of the Hover Dam, Caito took his opportunity and pushed a blade in to Caesars heart.

Obviously this didn’t go down too well with the other legionaries, all still indoctrinated to Caesar, but Caito managed to slip away in the chaos of battle, running for his life and never looking back. He tried to settle down in New Vegas, but despite the legion fracturing and no longer being a threat to the NCR as a whole, there were enough hardcore loyalists left to hold a grudge against him. It hadn’t even been a month before the first assassins came for him, he barely made it out with his life, he knew he had to either get out of their reach, or kill them all, which he honestly didn’t think was outside of his abilities, but the whole reason he had turned on them was so he didn’t have to indiscriminately kill large groups of people.

So he ran again, and he ran far, through more sections of the country than his ignorant mind even knew existed. At this point, Caito hasn’t seen anyone out to kill him from the legion in two years, but moving is just what he knows now, you don’t drop roots, you don’t make big connections and you don’t stick around longer than it takes to resupply and figure out where to go next. His current destination? Some place called Diamond City, supposedly it was where people used to play 'baseball', and given how many times Caito had used a baseball bat to remove part of someones skull, he felt he should probably learn the game.

Personality:
While blessed in the physical department, Caitos mental abilities leave quite a bit to be desired, that’s not to say he is stupid, he can be quite quick witted and cunning when he needs to be, hes just far, and I mean FAR from book smart, in the can barely read said book sense of the term. Aside from that, Caito is a generally nice person, though his past has left him with both a very short fuse between him and a violent solution to his problems, and some rather outdated views on some matters, such as the roles of women, over the years he has started breaking from his upbringing and the baggage that comes with it, but its far from gone entirely.

Honestly its pretty basic, hes a dumb bruiser with a short temper, generally takes nonviolent solutions if they are presented in such a way that they sound like they benefit him, otherwise his skill set is various forms of 'hulk smash'

Name- zeke

A brotherhood of steel knight. Zeke was sent on recon to recover advanced tech from the glowing sea. The mission was a disaster as the team stumbled into a deathclaw den. The soul survivor of the team and low on supplies he continued north to the commonwealth.

Real Name: Elizabeth Smith

Used Name: Lizzy Gunn

Age: 18

Appearance: http://40.media.tumblr.com/d58f7e4e4e3744ababe6af3e88dc06ea/tumblr_nw9a8dzFPn1uo91jvo1_500.jpg

History: Lizzy is the first born child of Nate and Nora Smith. She grew up in her parents home, learning from her mother how to speak and charm her way through life. When she was 17, her parents had their second child, Shaun, who Lizzy quickly bonded with. Unfortunately a year after Shaun's birth the bombs fell. The Smith family managed to get to Vault 111 where they were cryogenically frozen for the next 200 hundred years. Lizzy briefly woke up to watch her patents get murdered and her brother kidnapped. Now that she's woken up her mission is to find her brother and avenge her parents.

Skills: Lizzy is extremely charismatic and somewhat manipulative. Her people skills allow her to move easily through life, getting whatever she wants whenever she wants it. She isn't very strong or combat oriented (seeing as she grew up pre-war), but her silver tongue will earn her allies to fight, and possibly die, for her.

I don't like "normal" pretty lol. He's your character so do whatever you like, but he'd have a better chance with Lizzy if his hair was long. And maybe his beard too. Not super long on the beard, just a bit. And possibly a scar or two...

this one might be to your liking. As for scars, he has some on his body. They will have a part of their own in the story.
