Fallout 4

I have to wait till Friday to get it... but I also am taking the day off to play it

Fallout 3 was my intro to gaming..I am so ridiculously stoked to play part 4

and if you're wondering why the voice of your character is so familiar.. it's " Jack" from the Mass Effect series

Oh yes, Courtenay Taylor, I LOVE her, I am so stoked to have her be me.

I can always pick her out. She does a bunch of little voices in Destiny, which Ulaven is playing. When I first heard her from another room I had to look it up immediately. "Jack! It's Jack!" Now I can hear her say something and I yell "I LOVE YOU JACK!" Doesn't matter where I am or what I'm doing, I will always say it.

It's great so far. I mean, I'm not as much of a fan of the post-apocalyptic scenery as I am Tamriel, but DAMN, is it pretty.

I have a friend playing in Bulgaria...and he has been playing longer than I have, and he decided to tell me what the hell's going to happen. People on Tumblr are spoiling the crap out of it, so I guess I just get the crap spoiled out of it.

I am still having an absolute blast, though I just got eaten pretty severely.

Oops.

Sorry, puppy, BRB.

I'm late to the Fallout game, I've tried to play the previous ones, but really for me I'd rather just play Oblivion or Skyrim, but in this case, I am on board.

MOTHERFUCKING LETHAL-ASS PUPPY.

I am there for the puppy.

I'm pretty much tempted when I make my character just to call her Jack

Please no spoilers, I have gone out of my way to not learn a damn thing about the game except some screen caps and looking at the perk tree

I look at the Bethseda games as constantly stepping up from the last game Fallout 3 was a huge step past Oblivion, Skyrim was a huge step past Fallout 3, and now Fallout 4 looks like it will leave Skyrim in the dust

I got into the game bacuase my guy loves shooters, explosions big blam kablooey and he thought Fallout 3 was gonna be just that... so he's playing for about 10 minutes and starts bitching about how he's literally a baby.. you start your character in your infancy in Fallout 3.. so he said " can you get me past the talky bits"

I sat down, thought I'd give it a shot..I thought the theme was interesting, the dialogue was smart and funny, you could make choices.... but when I stepped out of vault 101 and looked out over the blasted Capitol Wasteland I was hooked

I probably logged in about 200 hours playing Fallout 3... knew every detail of that place from Girdershade to the Republic of Dave..fromRivet City to Raven Rock

Oh, no, I won't spoil it. Puppy's pretty much already well known, so that's cool. The time zone difference is cracking me up though. I'm already okay with spoilers pretty much. It's just a new way to live. I don't do it to other people though.

I went back and bought the entire Fallout series and did really intend to play them all, but I just couldn't.

I spent the last year playing Dragon Age Inquisition, which was Bioware's learning curve from both Mass Effect and Dragon Age, and they made a gorgeous game with excellent writing and relationships and story.

I hadn't made it through Mass Effect yet, because ME1's Mako freaked me out to no end and I'd get stuck in one particular place, and then when I tried to skip to ME2, it's dark and claustrophobic and I just got irritated and left, but I finally kinda FORCED myself to play through, then got addicted and did it about 7 times.

So that's the good side of being spoiled, I want to play everything to get all the cross overs and jokes and memes...

But for Fallout: New Vegas it was hard as hell to go back to a game that was essentially pretty much like the original Oblivion in graphics, so I just couldn't get through it.

Sometimes that happens, I wanted to get through Witcher also, and I just cannot get into it.

One good thing is that they have the lock picking mechanics from Oblivion/Skyrim, so I'm already an expert. That took a while to figure out...and I always play the first time through with no console loads, so I won't be getting 100 lockpicks whenever I feel like it.

I count on these games to make me want to run back through them and fix everything I screwed up the first time. Keeps me (relatively) humble.

So I don't have a gaming system anymore. Is it worth spending the $300-400 to get a system and then the game?

I doubt I'd play any other games on it, but this does look admittedly cool. I've always been a fan of the post-apocalypse genre in literature and movies.

Oh hell, what happened to your X-Box?

I'm playing on my computer, and especially with Bethesda games I'd recommend this if your system can handle it because on replay with mods, you'll eventually be able to do most anything you want, very supportive mod community.

The only console I have right now it the PS4 and games like Destiny and ESPECIALLY Until Dawn have made that purchase absolutely worth it.

Doesn't this only work on xbox1? I have my old system in storage. I don't think I've used it in 2 years.

I try to keep my work computer dedicated to work, and my browsing computer wouldn't handle it.

What's until dawn?

Im supposed to wait for christmas for that anf tomb raider. Dunno if I can hold out that long

I have not played Fallout but I kinda want to now. :D

Do you have to have a Nintendo?

Do you fall out of things, or is it more like how Michael Jackson said "We fell out during finger paint"?

I'm kidding. I probably will never play it. I'd never even heard of Fallout until Yates mentioned it the other day. Glad you're enjoying though. :)

Yeah, Fallout 4 will work on an X-Box 1, Playstation 4 and computer, I downloaded through Steam.

I have a work computer and a gaming computer, but we just recently bought the PS4 and Until Dawn is a PS4 exclusive, so you can't get it anywhere else. There's also "The Last Of Us" which is also a PS4 exclusive.

Sony has developed some kickass games that are worth it.

Until Dawn is a pretty much fully screen-captured survival horror game with quick time events. What's unique is that they have hired excellent actors and it looks like a movie. Rami Malek, Peter Stormare, Hayden Panetiere and Brett Dalton are the most noteworthy. Playing it looks like watching a movie.

Here's a teaser trailer that doesn't reek of spoilery

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKAVPofzu2g

The game works by "Quick Time Events" which means you usually have less than a second to hit the right button or make a choice.

So here is a failed Quick Time Event...where Mike fucks up every single possible event.

I'm so sorry Mike...

If you do it right, Mike doesn't have to say "Fuck!" straight for two minutes and doesn't land on his ass or back every 10 seconds.

And if you get this wrong, someone dies...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfFbiufFBsw

The game has about 10 hours of gameplay, 10 chapters that each take an hour (if you stay alive) or much shorter if you don't...so it's fast through and built for replay. I played through twice, my daughter played through 3 times.

I don't think it's on the Wii at all (Nintendo's system)

Microsoft's system, X-Box 1 or Sony's system Playstation 4 or computer.

Definitely falling out as in having to fight things.

I have not run across fingerpaint, but I have turned people and creatures into finger paint.

It is AWESOME! You should play!

I'm lagging one RPG - I just started on the Witcher 3.

Tried getting into that one, keep telling myself I'll get back to it.

A little too dark for me and I have trouble with no humor...and not having a customizable character. I haven't played a guy in a long time.

Geralt's cool and all, but...

Are you saying there's finally humor in a Bethesda game? Huh, I might have to try it then.

There's ALWAYS been humor in Bethesda games...

Sheogorath as the God of madness is awesome.

"Wonderful! Time for a celebration... Cheese for everyone! Wait, scratch that. Cheese for no one. That can be just as much of a celebration, if you don't like cheese, true? You've run a maze like a good little rat. But no cheese for you yet. Well, maybe a little."

Sheogorath is the only reason to play Elder Scrolls Online.

Granted, mostly the dark kind of humor, because the Assassin's Guild...also funny.

"Is there singing in the Void? Dancing? Surely the Dread Lord will at least allow Cicero to caper..."

This time they have romances that are a tad more advanced than Skyrim, which is mostly "Here's a necklace, come to my house. Love you, 'bye!"

I had to download a mod to romance the only guy with a decent accent. Oh, Brynjolf. He had me at "I'm sorry, lass, I'm busy." No, Brynjolf, you aren't, and I have a mod to prove it. Here's a necklace, stay at my house.

Unsatisfying.

And apparently...finally...multiple romances. Score! They're cashing in on Bioware's success, I hope.

Although right about now mostly I'm trying to figure out I can't maintain all the neato crap I have, it weighs me down and I don't know which is junk and which I should keep. Thanks Bethesda, on top of fucking up my inventory, as usual!

I know but the missus wants christmas ideas. She was annoyed I reserved battlefront. Then again she could buy me that welder I decided I've always needed

I'm lucky...and I've pre-ordered Warcraft's Legion expansion, which won't be out for a year, but it's got a mount I can ride now and a character boost...sooo...

Haha, I feel sorry for that fellow named I don't have Fallout 4. My steam list only has a couple playing that game, the rest are still addicted to other games. They are mostly pc gamers.

I have the pc version of Fallout 4, have a kick ass computer! Haven't installed yet.

Yeah, that poor person. My husband plays Destiny and people's guilds are AWOL.

Have fun storming the post-apocalyptic wasteland!
