I growl as the call comes in yet another murder the same M.O. throat slashed and the blood drained non at the crime seen. I slam my fist down on the dashboard of my car as I put the bubal light on the rough. I pull out in to traffic swirling in and out of the cars. I lesson to the report as I make my way to the crime seen. Apparently it’s another drug dealer the only bright spot of the murders so far is that they’ve all been drug dealers, pimps, repasts, or murders the worst of the worst. It looks like the work of a sicoe vigilantly or something.

It all started a mouth ago the first was a pimp, Fonda in a back ally stuffed behind a dumpster his throat was viciously slashed open but there was no sign of blood so who ever did it killed him some where ells and drained him dry before dumping him. The last person to see him alive was one if his girls he had just beat the shit out of for not pulling in as much money that night as he thought she should. Sins then it’s been two or three a week always terming up in a back ally every throat ripped open and never any sine of blood. Never any witnesses no finger prints no trace of hair or any clues at all of who did it whether it was man or woman, but every one is assuming it’s a guy sins some of this dead guy’s are seriously muscled and would put up a fight, But that’s what I’ve noticed is the strangest thing. There’s no sign of a struggle no burses no nothing it’s like they stud there and let the person do this to them. I’d say they were drugged but only a few of them shoed any traces of drugs the rest where clean at the time of the murder.

I pull up to the ally three patrol cars are already their there lights going. Two cops are at the entrance of the ally playing crowed control. I take a deep breath and step out of the car my six foot frame stretching as I shake off the effects of another late night. I grimes as I shut the door and walk tordes the cops pushing threw the ushawel vermin trying to get pictures of the body for the paper. Who ever is doing this is getting plenty of publicity that’s fore fucking sheer. I growl softly as I move to the mouth of the ally stepping under the yellow tape.

“So Erik what yak got.” I call to the cop that’s farther down the ally already taking pichers.

He looks up a frown on his lips. “Nothing just like the rest.” He says as I come up beside him looking down at the pathetic retch lying in a puddle of some once piss next to the dumpster. Trash cans are arranged to hide his body from the mouth of the ally just like the rest. Who ever is doing this doesn’t want just any one to find the body maybe concerned of innocent eyes?

I shake my head slowly. “Is the piss resent or was he duped in it?” I ask in a low voice.

“Resent as far as I can tell.” Erik says as he snaps another shot of the seen. “I even know who this one is we’ve bucked him servile times on pushing and we were working on a case agenst him for several murders relating drugs.” He grunts a soft laugh. “Looks like are job has been don once agene.”

I smirk at that. “Sheer there all badys but it’s still murder. Hell this stat doesn’t even support capital punishment to dam expensive.” I shake my head as I walk around the seen stooping too look at the stuff laving around hoping to get some kind of brake.

I look up as I see the guys with the black bage com past the tape ready to do there work as soon as we finish. I look back at Erik as he stands back looking every thing over one last time before waving them in to take the body away. I watch as they put the body in the bag I get a better look at the throat just as the others savagely cut from ear to ear. I frown as the zipper slides up coving the face. I lean agonist a wall rubbing my temples as I shut my eyes. Sins this shit started I haven’t got a descent nights sleep sprang dreams of a dark lady haunting my darkest thoughts.

I look up and around as I feel the hairs on the back of my neck sterring as if some one is watching me. My eyes narrow as I look in to the darker parts of the ally then up tords the roofs. I shake my head trying to shake the feeling but it prosestes then as fast as it started it’s gong. I shiver as I look back at Erik shrugging my shoulders as he gives me a questioning look.

“Not enough sleep… It’s just catching up to me.” I muddier to my self as I walk past him jabbing his arm with my fist. “It’s past my bed time I’ll see yaw tomorrow night.” I say softly my eyes getting a distant look as I think about the case trying to find something anything that I may have over looked.

I growl at the reporters the flashes of there cameras getting on my nerves the sound of there voices grating at me.

“Is it true anther attack from the vampire killer?”

‘Was he anther criminal? Is this a vigilante?”

I brush them all off not saying a word anger at who ever keeps telling the reporter what is happening. They seem to show up at the same time as the cops do. I get in to my car and take off heading for home and a nice long shower and some much needed sleep

I come out of the shadows watching as the detective leaves the scene, his broad shoulders bent slightly and his head down as if in deep thought. I walk towards the young cop putting on an awesome show of bravado for the obvious benefit of the man that just walked off. "Hello Erick.", he turns around quickly shocked by my unanounced appearance then smiles shyly at me a becoming blush rising in his cheeks and forehead. A slight smirk comes across my face as I when I see his reaction but disapears just as quickly when I look down at the corpse laying in front of me. My smirk turns to a snarl, "So what happened to this scumbag?" I see the shock on the young cops face, "Sorry Erick I guess I've lost social grace over the years." He smiles at me again, relaying the same basic report I heard him give to the detective a few moments ago. I nod seeing that the medical examiner is ready to begin, "i think I have what I need for now...Ercik since you were first on scene I'll need a copy of you report along with the coroner and medical examiner." I hear a vibrant "No problem Sergeant." from behind me as I walk back down the alley the way I came, then I stop and turn around a question in my eyes.....""What was the detectives name you were talking to earlier?" "Knight...Thomas Knight."....hmmmmmmm.....Thomas Knight, I think to myself. We have some interesting introductions ahead of us..........

Thomas Knight

I pull up in front of the station parking and sitting in my car staring at nothing. My right hand moves up to my temple and I begin to rub it softly trying to think threw the on coming migraine. I grimes this have been getting worse sins the start of this vampire murders. cereal killers are rare but don’t normally cause this much stress but this one was getting so much press the chef has set me to working on this case only putting presser on me to solve fast. I grimes as I open the door stepping out and looking up at the full moon.

I stand there breathing in deeply wishing I was out in the country ware the air is fresh and the nose that of crickets and try frogs not the honking of horns and the occasional bark of a gun in the dissents. I slam the car door and walk in to the station not looking forward to talking to the chef hoping he went home at his normal time for once. Ever sins this shit started he’s been staying up in to the night looking over my shoulder keeping the presser on. I had taken the graveyard shift cuss it used to be the most peace full most of the upper ups rarely stayed up this late so I didn’t have to deal with them often but now because of the fucking killer… I shake my head in disgust as I slip in threw the side door and make my way to my small office in the back corner. I’ve been offered bigger offices for my past accomplishments but I always refused liking the smaller less assuming office besides it would be a waste sins never used to spend much time in it I was always out on the streets still am for the most part but I’m finding my self being dragged in more often for the dam reports that say the same thing over and over nothing no leads no clues.

I slip in to my office making sheer the shades are down I never raze them but the cleaning staff some times do it. I don’t like people knowing if I’m in or not if I can help it. I sit in the dark room leaning back in my leather computer chare my eyes shut as I run threw every murder desperately looking for a pattern that will help. Yes the most obvious pattern in that all of them are criminals but that’s it as far as I or any one ells can tell. We even looked in to blood types and ethnic back grounds but it all seem random black white ashen indene it doesn’t seem to make a deferments it seems that theirs more white but then all of a sudden we'll get two or three black in a row or what have you obliterating the pattern.

I absently reach over and pres the power button on my computers monitor. I don’t open my eyes yet seeing the fait illumination cased buy the screen lighting up threw my eye lids. I sigh softly and turn tournedos my desk my tired eyes opening as I begin sorting threw my emails looking at the latest reports from the coroners and forensics techs.

I walk thru the precinct silently, nodding at the occasional janitor, or odd cop on midnight shift that are actually in the office this time of night. Making my way around the desks I pass my own office and head to the smaller office at the back with the name plate Thomas Knight. Seeing the lights out you would think he isn't there but my hearing being different from the others picks up the faint hum of the monitor and I knock softly but with authority, "Detective may I have a words with you?"

Thomas Knight

I look up at the sound of the faint knock my forehead frowning with a frown as I glare at the door. I sigh then leaning back in my seat hearing it creak with my wait shift. I pause for a moment not saying a word debating on whether I want to answer the door my eyes moving back to the files on the monitor the words seeming to run together as my tired eyes try to forces on them. I shrug then figuring a brake would do me good. I look back at the door wondering who it is the voice is not fumillur to me.

I stretch in my seat my arms over my head my shoulders softly popping as I hear and feel the tendons in my arms creak with the new movement. “Com in.” I call my voice just loud enough to be herd threw the door. I shut my eyes as the door opens letting the stinging in them easy a bit. I take a deep breath my eyebrow razing slightly as I catch the unmistakable feminine sent a soft perfume not over powering but enough to say that she is there. I open my eyes slowly letting them adjust to the light coming in threw the now open door.

I tilt my head as I examine the dark outline of her body threw the door the light coming from behind her not letting me see her face yet. “Hello. What can I do for you?” I ask softly my eyes blinking and blood shot. I tilt my head slightly the other way taking her in from a new angel. I absently motion toured a chair.

I remember suddenly that unlike me he cannot clearly see me in such light, and I smile at the anticipation I hear in his voice at not knowing whom he is talking to other than a female. I move slightly at his offer of a chair the light no longer silouetting my form from behind but highlighting it from the side. At 5'10 I tower over most of the women I meet, with broad shoulders, a curvy body, and athletically toned muscle from centuries of fighting, dancing and loving had left me with a uniquely cut form. I had clear muscle but still slender and feminine, my shoulder length hair fell in waves of auburn and gold, full pouty lips and long dark lashes over golden eyes softened my otherwise dramatic coloring with the typical Irish wave to my hair, and slight brogue to my voice I was quite an intimidating persona to the average cop, and my keen whit and high intelligence had marked me up to Sergt in record time. I appeared to not be paying attention but heard his intake of breath as the light caressed both my form and coloring. My natural scent I was sure had already invaded the room, and I grinned (he probably thinks it's perfume) I thought to myself. Taking the chair he offered my golden eyes looked at him with curiosity as I introduced myself....."Gwendolyn Jean O'Conner..." I hold out my hand to shake...."But I Go by Dawn," A smile curves over my generous lips as focus my full attention on the detective.

I smile faintly as my eyes drink her in my trained detective instincts not missing a thing. My eyes quickly flicking form point to point on her body and finely settling on her face. I note her flawed mounts so like a cat flawed and with a grate grace my mouth twitches as I think not just a cat but a hunting cat at that. I take her hand in mine griping just as firmly as she do’s feeling the soft almost silken feel of her skin hearing her name my eyes unfokes fore a moment as I try to place it.

“I’m Thomas Knight but then you know that already.” I chuckle softly as I take my hand back. “I don't think we’ve ever met before I’ve herd your name next to much praise of your skill thou.” My smile grouse a bit at that as I lean back in to my seat as it creaks once agene.

I know what she see a tall man almost six and a half feat tall rather thin but still has a good amount of strength even if it’s not obvious to all. My hair's black almost disaearing in the shadows thou is seems to shine when the light hits it just so. I watch her threw hazel eyes they seem to sweat between shades of blue and green depending on how the light strikes them. I’m pail as I don’t get out in the sun often any more my work keeping me up at night and asleep during the day more often then not. I’m not in any formal uniform just a black T-shirt and faded blue jeans as they are the most commutable and the people I need to talk to tend to talk more if they don’t know I’m a detective.

“So what can I do for you?” I ask in that same soft voice that the average person would miss if not paying attention.

My eyes fockes utterly on her face seeming to bore in to her with there intensity obvilsy giving her my complete attention. The way I look at her tends to make most feel uncumfable especially if there hiding something many of my suspects have been knone to brake down and confess just by me staring at them like this with out blinking a few even sed it was like I was reading there mind any way so why not speak it. I watch her like that not even noticing that I’m doing it.

I grin a bit at his mention of having heard of me.....and take the seat he offered. "I"ve been checking into these recent murders.........they seem to be the work of a serial killer but there aren't any connection that I see." I match his stare,,,,,"Whats your thoughts?"

Thomas Knight

“The only connections are that all the vacuums are criminals of kind or another.” I shrugs slightly my eyes focused on hers liking what I see in them a fears intelligence. “That and the fact that none of them have any blood left in them by the time there dumped. I say dumped cuss there is no sine of blood any where near there bodes when we get to them.” I tilt my head slightly my eyes going unfocused as I slip in to my own thoughts. “Some of the guys that have looked at the files have jokingly called it vampire attacks.” I snort at that idea.

I shake my head my eyes refocusing on her eyes. I study her for any reaction to that statement as I think of what ells I can say. “There always duped where they will be fond but yet arranged so not just any one can see them hidden form the cashiwil observer from the street, It’s the homeless and the people more hardened to the sight of death that find and report them. So it’s looking like a…” I pose trying to think of the word. “I want to say a vigilante but it doesn’t have that feel to it ithere.” I shake my head. “I’ve never seen or herd of this sort of thing.”

I shrug as I shift my eyes back to the monitor looking at the files with out really seeing them. “I'm personally happy to see these guys taken off the street but it’s still my job to fined the one killing them and bring him in for cleaning up what we can’t. something ells I’ve just noticed to night every one of the bustards killed where once we have been trying to make a case on but for one reason or another could never get enough evedins to stand up in court loop holes or them never doing any dirty work them selves.” I frown as my eyes drift back to Dawns eyes.

“If I didn’t know better I would swear the one doing this was one of use. Some one with access to the fills of who keeps getting away or keeps getting the money for porole and can afford the best layers to keep them out of jail no mater what we do. The one to night is a good example it tuck use tree years of hard work to scrape up enough evedesn and witnesses to bring him to court and on the court date half the witnesses chickened out and the other half trend up dead his layer fond servile loop holes on top of that so his case was throne out.” I curl my lip with disgust.

I sigh softly as I close my eyes letting my head fall back agest my chair. I breathe deeply trying to relaxes feeling my shoulders growing tens as the stress of this begins to try and over whelm me once agene. “Who ever this person is they are good never leaving any trace of who they are not finger prints not hair nothing… The others think it’s a guy because most of the bodies have broken necks but I don’t know about that non of them show any sign of a struggle and I don’t bulleav that one man new all of them well enough to get close to them and snap there necks with out a struggle I’m thinking it’s a girl or a team with a girl seducing them and letting a guy cum up behind maybe… I don’t know.”

Dawn

I watch as he roles his shoulders, I can hear the pounding of his heartbeat thru the pulse in his temple and I marvel at his youth and sadness. "So you think there is a group of people on the loose that are working together to take out the bad guys?"

Ooc

Night my darling I"m going to have to quit this story........although it has great potential you don't seem to have the time. Let me know when you do.

Thomas Knight

“I don’t know who it is, and I don’t know if it’s a group or not.” I sigh softly letting my head fall back my eyes shutting. “I just have my ideas but with no leads I have nothing to back them up.” I sigh agene rolling my shoulders trying to get the tention out of them. “As for working with some one I’ve never gotten along with any one long enough to work with them they always go to the chef for a trance fur.” I chukls softly at that. “They can’t seem to keep up with me or my hours.” I shrug slightly.

I lift my head tiredly looking at her as I do taking in her every detail noting that she’s not commutable in the chair. My eyes move to her feet and slowly move up back to her eyes. I star in to them not blinking as I take her mesher. I see intelagens in them and something ells. “She’s a hunter I think to my self.

“So why are you hear any way did the chef send you to check up on me?” I ask my eyes never leaving her face not flinching from her intent gaze my eyes not wavering in the least.

If yor still intrested.
