Let's see what's in for Fall Fashions....

Hmmm. First, plum color which started up during the summer, seems to be holding on. I don't mind that. I look ok in plum. Second, double button...we'll get back to that...

Designers are not yet finished with the 60's. Here we have the Emma Peel look and a little hippie:

Showing off shoulders seems to be in. I blame Michelle Obama.

Ultra-tigh pencil jeans remain, so tight they're like leggings (yeah, right like I can wear those ). And, yes, the ripped look is also still in...

Skirts are above the knee and boring.
http://images.bloomingdales.com/is/image/BLM/products/8/optimized/971038_fpx.tif?wid=325&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bilin&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeg

Actually, I'm not seeing many strong fashion trends in dresses. However, remember those double buttons I mentioned? Seems that military regency look, popular during the 60's as well, of double-buttoned jackets is back:
http://images.bloomingdales.com/is/image/BLM/products/0/optimized/995760_fpx.tif?wid=325&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bilin&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeghttp://images.bloomingdales.com/is/image/BLM/products/1/optimized/1000861_fpx.tif?wid=325&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bilin&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeghttp://images.bloomingdales.com/is/image/BLM/products/2/optimized/1000842_fpx.tif?wid=325&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bilin&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeg
They're even being referred to as military jackets. One there is called "Tin soldier" jacket.

And what about shoes? Ah. Designers have gone crazy with shoes. Always keep an eye on decades that have a shoe fetish (I noticed designers going crazy with shoes in the 80's...)

First, boots. There is no slowing the popularity of boots. I hope none of you tossed out your buccaneer boots after the Pirates of the Caribbean craze ended? 'Cause over-the-knee high boots are in, in, in!
http://images.bloomingdales.com/is/image/BLM/products/6/optimized/1006606_fpx.tif?wid=325&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bilin&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeghttp://images.bloomingdales.com/is/image/BLM/products/9/optimized/1004179_fpx.tif?wid=325&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bilin&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeg

And to go with that Regency-Victorian military look:
http://images.bloomingdales.com/is/image/BLM/products/6/optimized/989576_fpx.tif?wid=325&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bilin&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeg

I, alas, have short legs and can't wear buccaneer boots :( So I'll just have to be satisfied with the enduring popularity of "goth" (or is it BDSM?) boots in fashion:
http://images.bloomingdales.com/is/image/BLM/products/1/optimized/998141_fpx.tif?wid=325&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bilin&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeghttp://images.bloomingdales.com/is/image/BLM/products/9/optimized/984919_fpx.tif?wid=325&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bilin&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeghttp://images.bloomingdales.com/is/image/BLM/products/1/optimized/1002751_fpx.tif?wid=325&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bilin&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeg

See, guys, there are many wonderful gifts to get your dominatrix this year :D

I am a little alarmed to see the return of platform pumps:
http://images.bloomingdales.com/is/image/BLM/products/4/optimized/994284_fpx.tif?wid=325&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bilin&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeg

Are shoe designers all in a conspiracy to have women fall over and break their necks? Here's a 5" heel with a 1" toe platform.
http://images.bloomingdales.com/is/image/BLM/products/3/optimized/994313_fpx.tif?wid=325&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bilin&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeg

Dang good of you SR :)

Something to contrast the usual 501s.
Black dress, seasonal cross purpose jacket.
good start...and there goes the OT $

Plum again, eh. I look ghastly in it. Double buttons and the variations on the military icon, on the other hand, that's something to look forward to. Not to even mention, boots. Can't have too many boots!

oh god, I thought that cutout shoulder thing died in the early 90's. DAMN YOU DONNA KARAN.

But I am digging the military look, and I'm kicking myself for not keeping my military-inspired clothes from the late 80's. Alas, I eBayed them all years ago. It's a good look for someone who wants a subtle dominatrix look that she can actually wear outside the bedroom.

And boots, of course, are always good.

ugh...hate uniform wear...only when necessary would i say
except maybe the belt
funny, never liked the belts and buckles 'fore either

I think I have some Tiger Camo left over from Vietnam.

Some Jungle boots also. :D

Can I kill myself now, 3?
I've the perfect shoes that will do that for you. See above.

And all those of you mentioning the military look...no, no, no! It's not our modern military that's in vogue any more. We're looking back to to THIS era of military fashion for inspiration (early 19th century):

Only in jackets and dresses for women.

I'm kicking myself for not keeping my military-inspired clothes from the late 80's.
OMG! I was thinking that a lot of this flashes back to early 60's fashion, which it does (go MadMen!), but the buccaneer boots, the double button coats...I'd totally forgotten....
