Fall arrived this morning

I checked the weather site and it shows up here tomorrow.

I'm not buttoning up for winter quite yet, though.

This will be good for my Fall garden!

Reminds me to get some more wood cut up, time to close up the pool and throw a net over the koi pond and now that the new walks are in to get to the landscaping.

The student bought a Camaro. I keep asking when I'm going to see it, even a picture of it on blocks ;) ;) , and he informs me that guys like to keep a sports/muscle car in the garage, just for special driving days and I asked him when he was going to get one.

He got kinda pissed.

I wonder why?

Tell him Wat called him a pussy.

He might has well have bought a Prius. He needs to get out and drive the damned thing.

I am single handedly buying up all the pumpkin flavored hard cider in my region. Specifically the Woodchuck. It's so darn tasty.

Yeah, just as well he's not driving until he gets new brakes...

Pumpkin cider and spam?

I went out with my old car buddy last night.

His career was working on them when they were new. He tells war stories (whore stories?) and I listen and pick up some tidbits along the way. He looks at my car and makes suggestions and dispenses advice.

I'm damn glad to have him.

The bitch with an old car is, how old is this batch of parts? . . . so you end up replacing all the maintenance stuff. I'm on ignition right now. Cooling is next, then brakes, then exhaust.

Got tired of starting it with a screwdriver...?

My truck started out new, but now any maintenance is pretty much restoration.

;) ;)

Nahhhh just joining in on the fall celebration. And part of my excitement is about the cider. I need it for watching football. It's a limited batch so I gotta buy it up before it isn't available anymore. I certainly fell for their marketing.

Other fall things I'm excited about: turning off the AC and opening the windows, leaf peeping and crunching, apples and pumpkins and mums oh my, new tv season, wearing my boots again, etc etc

If I turn off the AC and open up, I'll suffocate in my sleep...

That's the bitch of fall, limited time outside and definitely not on windy days...

They were all new, once upon a time.

The pisser for me is, I had a plan to fix x stuff, and then something breaks and I have to attend to it first and x goes until another day. Nothing major yet, but I can see its becoming a pattern.

Off for the weekend stimulus . . . Baby gets plugs, wires, and some carburetor work tomorrow.

Spring has arrived here. Cold nights and mild days. I can take one layer of clothing off!
All the weeds have started to sprout again. Why is it that weeds are the first to begin growing?

Frost this morning, here.

Have you got your fall mums?

Yes, we have additional mums to go into the ground; they get well-established here and we have years of plantings plus volunteers everywhere intermixed with the crepe myrtle...

Good late-summer into fall color but any more it seems that most of the volunteers like to bloom late Spring-Early Summer.

They don't stop here...

We have to mow into December some years.

Yesterday was an odd day for I went into the pool for one last cleaning where the water temps were still in the 80s and the air temp only made it to about 72.

It felt really nice, but today, it gets closed up. :(

Fall in Florida is subtle. The temps stay in the 90s but the concrete isnt too hot to walk on in bare feet or even human feet. It will stay hot and humid till Christmas when we get one full week of Winter, then it warms up aqain after New Years. One year I earned my swimming merit badge the day after Christmas.

I'm rehabing my old Clown Car I bought in 2000. Its a GEO. 'Restoration' isnt the right word, it aint new again, its better in the ways that matter. I was surprised to find some bondo beneath the old paint. I suspect a drunk UAW guy dropped a house on it at the factory. Its GM.

The cool blew in last night.

The storm was very nice and demonstrative.

The windows opened first thing after I wandered in from a long day of stimulus packaging.
