Facebook Fatigue

IMO Facebook's for people who need people, but are too fucking lazy, shy. ugly or insecure to actually go out in the world and meet them face to face. You can have a shitload of so-called friends to chat with as you sit around in your underwear in your parent's basement eating Cheesy Poofs, drinking root beer and smelling like a goat.

Don't even get me started on smart phones.

This could be a candidate for post of the Year.

No smartphone here, either. I'm no slave to fashion.

I have a smartphone. (It's a long story.) But I've discovered that if you keep it connected to the phone network, and nothing else, you can use it to make phone calls. It's a bit like an empty baked beans can on the end of a string. :)

No smart phone, no facebook, but I do have a wifi hotspot. :)

I recently upgraded to toilet paper from the Sears Catalog.

I have a smart phone only to have the lit app on there. :) Its a good read when I'm at an appointment. :cattail:

The "real" people have left facebook to live in the real world, leaving behind the sad trolls, ahem, Facebook addicts, that roam the internets quoting dead people about how to live, find happiness, or raise awareness of all the sickly things that need help, "Give me 20,000 likes and I'll stop smoking!"

It's nice that facebook is there to share the occasional photo with a friend that's too far away to see you face to face, or to chat with someone half way around the world. (OMG A FRIEND FROM OZ!)

did you notice that if you do a internet search on a website that rhymes with Noogle, the facebook ads immediately advertise the subject/object you look up? :D

I have a feeling that Facebook was a big factor in the GOP losses last election. I know that a lot of people discount that, and they discounted it all of last year too. Meanwhile every time some white man said something hateful about blacks, Hispanics, women-- another sizable percentage of people would walk away from the GOP, and talk about it on facebook.

Just saying.

Right now there's a lot of cats and dolphins and shit, but that's just a way of reminding each other that we back each other up.

It's been really useful for me-- regaining old friends that I lost from twenty years of moving around, finding people to collaborate with, keeping track of my family.

I have a feeling some of these landed right here

Interesting that they would automatically walk away from the republicans. There are no white democrats who say anything ignorant?

Its strange how its gone over the last few years. People always had their party lines and differences of philosophies

But it seems only fairly recently that republicans are now literally evil and the "cool" thing is to hate them and vote against them "just because"

Not saying they are the answer (a true bi partisan candidate would be the answer) but just curious how folks think that mentality has been working for them the last few years.

I also love how Stella is a "champion" of the cause of equality, but always find ways to talk about 'white people" especially "white men"

I think she's racist and sexist.

Just saying.:D

Is this a comedy routine you've been working on, or are you drinking in the middle of the day? Because if it's the first, you have it just about ready to go on the road, if it's the latter, you need to slow down on the intake.
