Face The Future, Caneheads

I'm heading down to the Novi area next week for work with several of my female (non-hockey fan) co-workers. They seem to think we will be watching some country music awards in my room. NO F**KING WAY!!! Even if there was no hockey on, I'm not subjecting myself to country music! I had to break that bit of news to them today. Monday and Wednesday (if necessary) I will not be serving as designated driver so they need to not get drunk, or get drunk in my room but shut up during play!

The only thing that sucks is I won't get to watch it on CBC. Their coverage is infinitly better than anything ESPN or ABC will be able to do.

GO WINGS!!!

When you are in Novi you ought to be able to get the CBC. It is broadcast on
CBET, Channel 9 from Windsor, and most cable systems in the Detroit area carry it.

Devout Wings fan here myself, though I must confess due to my locale (living in NC) I will say either way I cannot lose!!!

Go Wings! Win it for all us faithful and for Hull and Hasek!

GO WINGS GO WINGS GO WINGS

The Raleigh area is becoming a much better NHL fan base than I expected due to recent events...........which I am glad to see, though I proudly wore my Wings Polo to work today and will continue wearing something with my Wings on it each day a game is played.

and for the record on the "other" Finals, Go Nets. I cannot stand the Lakers with the Prima Donna Kobe and Shaq who think they automatically should win it. Go Nets.

Along with the Portugal over America thread, this upset thing is getting weird.

I'm not a hockey fan so I'm not going to jump on anyone's bandwagon but Carolina has got to be one of the most fun underdogs in a while.

Hasek, schmosek.

So far the future is looking bright.
Go Canes! :D

Ask Vancouver and Patrick Roy how bright the future looked. 1 game isn't going to win you a series. Ask Colorado 3 games doesn't win you a series either. Fear the Octupi. Go Wings!

Laugh now cane fans because it will be all wings now ..I have watched them play every game this year and all of there playoff games and let me tell you I was hoping they would loose last night because this team response to losing and well just ask all the other teams they played this playoff what happens when you beat the wings.... canes are a good team and played that boring trap perfect lastnight but they are not the wings or even close to be anywhere near there greatness so again enjoy while you can because your fun time is over..:)

Well, darlin' I am not arrogant enough to claim victory quite so early. I'll leave that to you. That's the difference between myself and other fans. I simply made an optimistic comment. I am excited and I have every right to be. The Hurricanes were not expected to get this far. And, I'm proud of their showing.

I am just simply suggesting that game 1 may not be enough to think Carolina will hoist the cup. I wasn't real thrilled with the Wing showing last night, however after watching them play both Vancouver and Colorado I will not believe they won't beat Carolina 4 times until I see the Carolina players hoist the cup. I am optmistic but not arrogant. Didn't mean to come across that way.

I apologize, hon. I must remind myself of the difficulty in reading words and assuming tone. One thing is for sure, it's going to be an interesting series! :)

Not a fan but this sure does take a little bit out of all those Detroit expectations of a sweep.

I'll lay down a bet that Detroit wins, but it'll be a struggle of great proportions. Nothing is ever easy.

As a frusrated Rangers fan, I really don't have a stake in who wins the Cup this season. However, the comeback win last night (and the OT goal by "oldie" Ron Francis) indicate that the Hurricanes should not be dismissed lightly.

I'm hoping the rest of the series is as exciting!

Does anyone feel the 'Canes might have an edge in that they can bring in Weekes as an alternative to Irbe?
:rose:

As a Sharks & a Kings fan.... second choice would be the wings since we're out of it.....but definitely DON'T want the Lakers!!! They just got lucky!
