Which leads me to a question...Fabio became famous as a model for paperback romance covers. This means that he must appeal to many, many women...yet no one thus far finds (or will admit to finding ) him attractive.

Why is that?

I have never bought a paperback romance because Fabio was on the cover. But I can think of at least 20 books that I own that have him on the cover. The art departments of the publishers find a guy and put him on a couple of covers, if the books sell, the guy becomes a hot property and they use him on LOTS of books.

Fabio got extremely lucky and was a cover guy for one of Johanna Lindsey's books very early in his career. Her name was what sold the book to the majority of readers, not the cover. BTW, he had short dark hair on that book.
