I'm not going try anymore to submit my stories here, because it's simply too annoying to get them rejected without reason and to have to re-enter them time and time again. I'm fed up with getting the same pre-made text time and time again that tells me exactly _nothing_, and to the people who reject those stories for whatever reasons (because they're BDSM? because they're lesbian? because someone doesn't have time to read them at all and simply wants to empty the queue? certainly not because they're badly written) - if you can't do a job, don't take it. I initially thought this might be something with my account or name, but it's the same with a fresh one, rejected, rejected, rejected. Spell-checked and proof-read stories which I've published on other sites and for which I've repeatedly received requests to publish them at well-known private collection sites don't seem good enough for lit. So that's it for me.

They give a reason why stories are rejected--which, yes, can be a little cryptic. You didn't note what the rejection notices said (or what you tried to do to fix the problem), so no one can start helping you figure out why and then on to clearing the obstacle away. Not really interested in just hearing you bitch about something that can probably be fixed.

I know it's not fair but for tragic historical family reasons the ROYAL family of LITEROTICA simply doesn't like German writers (or any Germans for that mattter). It's a deep rooted bias they can't overcome...

Perhaps if you sent your stories in from Sweden they'd get a warmer welcome.

Good luck with you future writing endeavors.

p.s. my bet is that the next person to post on this thread will be an ALT master...

Disregard this ass and send Laurel a PM, not and e-mail and ask why the stories
were rejected. She reads them so she should know. You can find her in the stickies at the top of the page.

So, none of us have ever been rejected. You are the only one? Get serious and find an editor. Generally there are only a few things that will get a story rejected...

1) Beastiality... (here, doggy )
2) Under Age Sex...
3) Piss poor grammar
4) Story length... if it's too short it will be rejected. Minimun 750 words I think
5) Gross spelling errors

Of these, Grammar and Under Age Sex top the list.

Now go back and start over.

The rejection text has been the same all the time:
Dear Writer,

Thank you for your submission to Literotica. We appreciate the time and effort you've taken to write a story and submit it to our site. However, we've found that we cannot post your submission in its current form. The checklist below may help you in re-examining your manuscript.

* Did I check to make sure everything was spelled correctly?

Please feel free to re-submit the story after a Volunteer Editor has examined it, or after you've made revisions. You can find a list of Volunteer Editors here.

Please consult our Writer's Resources section and make sure you read our submission guidelines:

If you have any questions on these, please let us know.

Thanks for your time, and look forward to reading you again!

It might very well be that there is the one or other spello in the story that has managed to escape my eyes as well as my beta's - but then, I've seen numerous stories here, even submitted in the last few weeks, with more errors than a swiss cheese has holes.

Do like the notice says and find an editor. No one can edit their own stories very well. What you see on the page is what you thought you wrote - not what you actually typed. It happens to all of us.

NOPE

2) Under Age Sex...

Neither

3) Piss poor grammar

I usually can string together whole sentences

4) Story length... if it's too short it will be rejected. Minimun 750 words I think

Nothing below 2000

5) Gross spelling errors

Checked it with the spellchecker, checked it myself again, had someone else who is a native speaker proofread everything.

None of the points above fits with my stories, so what do I make from that? That I am too dumb to judge the quality of a (my) text? I wanted to post my stories here to share them for everyone's enjoyment and perhaps get a bit of feedback, not to play Don Quixote and solve riddles.

The robots are catching and rejecting your story, probably for poor capitalization or something. All you have to do is write in the special notes box underneath your submission:

"I've re-checked the spelling and grammar and I've had someone else look at it, it's correct. Please post the story. Thank you."

That way a human being will glance at your story and accept it or reject it instead of the robots. If it's legible they'll post it.

Is your spellchecker set to U.S. English? If you like, you can PM me (just put the text in the text of the PM) not more than a 1,000 words of the story being rejected and I'll look at it for spelling and send it back with comments. (I'm a professional book editor.)

Other than that, if you're really, really sure it has few spelling problems (knowing that the site's authomatic checkers prefer American spellings), you can always refile it with a note in the notes box that yes, it has been carefully spellchecked. Putting something in the note box forces it to be seen by a human editor. You may be getting your rejections from a machine checker.

No, I'm not. Do you want help or do you just want to bitch?

It's your story and your problem.

She doesn't believe in the robots? They'll reject your story over and over and you'll never figure out why. You have to get the human slaves to accept your story when the robots are getting their batteries re-charged.

Non consensual sex is an automatic rejection as well.

Even though there are plenty of stories on here in "non consent/reluctance", there is always some form of consent in the story.

If there's no form of consent, it's an automatic reject.

ty all for keeping things on the light side. Perhaps it's not my day, and I'm being overly sensitive... I've taken a deep breath, run another spellchecker over it (this time with US-English settings) and sent it to another friend to check it over who should give me some feedback for the first one any minute. AND I'll fill in something into the comment box, just for the possible case that you're not having me on with the bot thingies.

*hugsyouall*

he's not.

Patience, dear girl. These things do take time and some editorial finesse. I am a novice myself but one must be prepared for such rejections until the right chord is struck.

I know I have stories in me for sure. I've got the creativity and tools. What I don't have is the dedication to make it perfect. I'm not afraid of rejection. I'm more afraid of not living up to my own standards. There are some amazing writers in here.

I wouldn't tear into a website and abuse it if I had joined this month, and only made 8 posts.

May just be me but..... ^^^^^

There are one or two odd things that could be tripping you up as well. Formatting that forces strange line breaks, for instance, can occur if you have made large run-ons for effect - "ohyesohyesphyesohyes" carried on a bit longer, for instance. I've had a story flagged for that. Having it kicked back is, I promise, not any sort of comment on the quality of the story; that same story was given an editor's choice award once I corrected the formatting.

Extra-long paragraphs can also get a story kicked back. Of course, you'd have to be quiet verbose, and write really long ... erm ... Oh yes, I know that one from experience as well. But it all worked out in the end. :)

Don't worry. They're not passing judgement on the quality of your story. It sounds like there's just some little bit of it that's kicking back problems. You've gotten great advice on this thread on how to identify the problem and sort it out.

She should have put "My grandmother Kitty was in the Gestapo" in the Notes field.

I'd like to see anybody top this rejection notice I got on my story "The Candidates Are Cumming, the Candidates Are Cumming" I submitted for the 2008 Halloween Contest:

*** In response to overwhelming reader feedback, we have decided at this time not to publish partisan political articles or anything related to the current U.S. election. You are more than welcome to publish this piece on our Forum: http://forum.literotica.com *** Th...een Contest there and got a box of hot stuff.

I'm impressed, she finally learned how to spell my name correctly.

As for the rest of the post...... WTF is she talking about? And who would care anyway?

You keep running off at the mouth about how good this other site is, why don't you just go back there and stay. I know we'd all be happier.
