I ran across an interesting study the other day and wanted to post a question here related to it. The study found that men with brown eyes were perceived as more dominant, even when the photos were photo-shopped to blue eyes and vice versa. I've included a link to some info about the study. http://dienekes.blogspot.com/2010/06/brown-eyed-men-perceived-to-be-more.html

I'm interested in seeing how many of the dominant persons here have brown eyes. I know there will always be exceptions and that this study isn't factoring in many things. Also, I know that for many parts of the world, there are more brown eyed people than the other colors.

I've also seen a study, funded by the Canadian government no less, that women whose ring finger is longer than their middle finger are more sexually promiscuous.

I wonder how many women are looking at their fingers right now.

I once read an article that said men with large circumcised cocks were more able to satisfy their lovers. Do you people really believe these things? In a few years, someone will do some study that will say the cocks must be uncircumcised. Like when a study said alcohol was bad for you. Now, they say a drink or two is good for you. Coffee was bad at one time, now it and even caffeine is good, in moderation. I think most anything can be considered good, in moderation, maybe even hazel or green eyes.

Oh, my eye color is blue, so I guess I'm not as dominant as someone with brown eyes? Sorry, don't believe it's true. I don't think they are referring to BDSM dominance. I've also heard that eyes placed farther apart on the face, something the article says about blue eyed men, are conceived as intelligence. So if brown eyed men are more dominant, intelligence doesn't seem to go along with it. Dominance lacking intelligence can often equal trouble.

If I were a submissive woman, I'd prefer someone who is intelligent enough to know how to dominant her with a little intelligence and not just a big nose, square jaw and one eyebrow.

Oh, this post was written by a blue eyed person. If you notice it is lacking misspelled words, it's not because I'm dominant. It's probably because I have a small mouth and two distinct eyebrows, one each above my wide placed eyes. Oh, I also have a very nice smile. :D

Take this post as seriously as that article. That's how I intended it. And I'll stick to this logic until the next study comes out where they say blue eyed men are more dominant. As studies go, I'd guess that will be about this same time, in 2014.

I went to high school with a little cutie who was like that. I never got to date her because she was a cheerleader and I was a nobody. So, I can't prove or disprove that study. Sorry.

I know the feeling.

I doubt the veracity of the study but I do like the thought of the women reading this are now studying their hands and thinking.

Where is 'other'? Not everyone has one eye color, you know. I have one blue eye and one green eye.

I've heard about people like you. And I always had an idea that you were strange and you just confirmed it.

But, being strange is considered normal around these parts. :D

Oh, you know the study said nothing about green eyes and blue eyes were non-dominant. Being a sub, you just love that, don't you.

Eh. I don't really care which is dominant or not. I just wanted to be included!

The world is so prejudiced against people with more than one eye color. They don't even have options for us at the DMV - we're just supposed to choose one.

I SHOULD SUE! :p

The study actually says, though, that it's not the color of the eyes but the facial features more often associated with brown-eyed people. When brown-eyed people had their eye colors altered to blue, they were still considered "more dominant," whatever that means.

I think this has to do with Dominant/Recessive alleles. Genetics can be exciting, especially when I get all confused.

Well, it did include blue eyes, because the facial features of those with blue eyes are less dominant (I'm paraphrasing) than the brown eyed features. Brown eyed facial features were a larger nose, a larger mouth, larger eyebrows, a square jaw, etc.

From the web site:
The morphological differences between blue-eyed and brown-eyed males were visualized by deformation of thin-plate splines (Fig. 3). In contrast with blue-eyed males, brown-eyed males have statistically broader and rather massive chins, broader (laterally prolonged) mouths, larger noses, and eyes that are closer together with larger eyebrows. In contrast, blue-eyed males show smaller and sharper chins, mouths that are laterally narrower, noses smaller, and a greater span between the eyes. Especially the broader massive chin, bigger nose, and larger eyebrows of brown-eyed males may explain their higher perceived dominance.

When someone with blue eyes puts in brown contacts, it doesn't change their facial features, so that is what was meant by that. Evidently it's the big nose, big mouth, big eyebrows and square jaw that classifies them as dominant. Coming from a blue eyed creature, that brown eyed description sounds more like Neanderthal man.

Yeah, that was what I was saying. It's not the eyes themselves, but the facial structures associated with them. The "whatever it means" was directed at the idea of "perceived dominance."

This is from a real web site. It was a quiz and I had to go back several times to get each result. You should all thank me for this...I know you won't.

People with brown eyes are very attractive, adorable, love to make new friends. Will do anything for that special person. Kind and polite Can make anyone laugh or cheer them up. They love to please the one they care or love for, and are the greatest kissers of all. They are very trustworthy and will do anything for people that are special in their lives.

People with green eyes have the most passion put into relationships, honest and trust worthy, they have long lasting relationships. People with green eyes are also the most beautiful, are fun and outgoing, love to make people laugh, and random as ever. They long for the touch of another. They are very laid back. People with green eyes are very sexy and very attracted towards other people. LOVES to have fun. Tend to cover up true feelings, get scared over relationships.

People with hazel eyes have very short and sharp relationships, with friends and lovers. Hazel eyed people are very diverse and love to try new things. They are risk takers and rarely will say no to a challenge.
Those with a hazel eye color portray the ability to heal oneself. They tend to let emotion slide of them and seem to have a protective barrier against harmful words. Hazel eyed people are very independent and courage and will stand up to people for their loved ones.

People with gray eyes are very rare/unusual but does not mean you are actually gray eyed people do most of the usual or normal things you tend to like the same things you hate change and love the way things are going right now.your loving it single or happy in love with the relationship you are now.You can be very quiet and like to sit at a corner listening to music or at times have your way or have a tantrum. you always get what you want and is good at it.there is nothing really much to say but hey they are gorgeous no matter what.

People with blue eyes are known for the longest relationships. They are good kissers and are also very funny and are outgoing and don't care what others think about them. They always seem to fall in love with the closest of friends and don't know why. They are very satisfying and love to please. One of their main goals is to make people happy.
Blue-eyes are commonly known as the prettiest eye color, and people who have blue eyes are associated as being good looking.

People with heterochromia (different in each eye) eyes mean unique. You are different from everyone else but in a good way. You like to do things differently than other people. It also means that you are good at standing up for what you believe in and that you are very smart. heterochromia eyes also mean that you are very creative and people can see that as something that makes you beautiful!

Below is a graph of the number of people with each color of eyes. As you can see, brown is the most common color. Just like right handers...just commoners.

I understand what you are saying but the web site says that people with blue eyes will always have the same features, so it does include eye color in these features. I guess you can't have a small mouth, etc. if you have brown eyes?

Yay, me!

Although if you want to be really picky i have partial heterochromia, cause TECHNICALLY my green eye is half green half blue. It's kinda hard to explain. I just say it's one blue, one green, to save on confusion.

*poof*

Why, thank you, DVS (see? Your efforts are not unnoticed...). I appreciate that, although I could be trying to cover up my true feelings.

While I find this fun, what I really want to know is, what do the peaceful, calming hues of my gangrenous foot say about my personality?

I find brown eyes remind me of puppies and I just want to go on about how cute they are.

That must make for interesting dates. Do you leash 'em up when they piddle on the carpet?

Yay, me!

<snip pic of Gracie eyes>

First of all, When I look at it, I distinctly see Davy Jones, and I wonder if it's morphed in the past day or so?

Second of all, any other family members have this oddity?

Third of all, your eyes are most attractive.

Nope. My mom has green eyes and my dad had blue eyes. His parents have blue or brown, and my mom's parents are green or blue. For all we know, it's all the acid my dad was doing when my mom got pregnant with me. *shrugs*

It was a lot more noticeable when I was a child, back then my right eye was almost entirely green, instead of being half green.

Third of all, your eyes are most attractive.

Thank you. They're my best feature. :D

Gray. So didn't answer.

Oh, and mine are blue except for about a quarter of my left eye, which is gray.

Blue eyes are the result of recessive genes, same as blond(e) hair (natural blond(e) anyway).

Still, a physical appearance should never be confused with the person inside.

I think this has to do with Dominant/Recessive alleles. Genetics can be exciting, especially when I get all confused.

Ha Ha!

What you don't understand is that throughout this epic total war, we the recessive have been decrypting, breaking your code, infiltrating your women.

We've got partisans behind enemy lines prepared to do whatever it costs to ensure the subjugation of all dominant alleles.

<Evil laughter>
