Extreme stories you got flamed for

My last three stories now have been pretty strong nonconsent, and I just plan on getting worse ;op I found it interesting though when I posted the first one how many people wrote to me calling my story all sorts of bad things; even one of the people who liked it called it 'disturbing'. I guess I was just surprised that - after seeing some of the insanely kinky stuff people have posted on here - that anything can be judged extreme.

Curious if anybody else here has gotten any flames about the extreme nature of stories that they thought were just harmlessly kinky?

I got some foaming at the mouth stuff about a story. It featured a muslim who got laid in the course of it. That was what they objected to. It was repellent to read some of that hate mail. But the story wasn't particularly kinky.

Nonconsent stories get flamed just because of the category they're in -- often without even being read. It's just the nature of that category.

Other categories have the same problem to some degree, but I think only Incest/Taboo even comes close to the level of knee-jerk hate-mail nonconsent gets.

Well, I'm totally out of righteous anger for the day, so that just made me sad.

Muslims need to get laid too.

You know what's funny? I haven't gotten one comment about my love for incest. Apparently, that's normal. Go figure.

The incest people, on the other hand, are the fucking WORST for flaming nonconsent. I think they try and make up for their guilt over the incest fetish and the whole stigma of child-abuse that's attached to incest by flaming the hell out of any incest stories that show even slight leanings toward nonconsent.

I thought about this for a long time after I got BLOW TORCHED for "A Bad Day". I don't know who those people are. They don't write. They don't vote. Alll they do is crusade agains rape and non-consent. I did a story a couple years ago, "The Stop Smoking clinic" that had almost no votes at all but an email box stuffed with hate and death threats.

Don't worry about the looneys. Just write it.

Most of the time... I think people are afraid that I'm anything like my main characters.

They're best described as having socio-pathic tendencies.

I guess they figure it's not a good idea to send someone a nasty-gram when they describe in such loving detail the killing of an individual who was discorteous to the main character.

My one NonConsent/Reluctance story was more reluctance than nonconsent.

And I still got flamed. And as pointed out earlier I don't think they read the story either.

Personally, I find it rather funny. :D

I was hoping to get flamed on a couple of recent stories.

In Black I was hoping to collect flames from both the white and black supremacists. Nothing. Sooo disappointing. :( ;)

And I was hoping to get at least one 'white traitor!' flame for A Quiet Evening At Home. I worked really hard to make it clear the interracial couple cared for one another and nobody got upset about that. Two people did complain I use too many adjectives though. :D

Falling, but that's just one particular person who disliked my reviewing style. American Baby got some flaming as well.

Most recently, I got an Anonymous comment that said "Holy Christ! If I don't commit suicide, I'll be looking forward to your next installment!"

 Obviously, I don't write fluffy bunny smut. Lesbian werewolves, however...

I got hate mail for two weeks after my last non-consent story went up. Only one had the balls to actually send feedback with an e-mail address, so I responded and suggested if she hated non-consent stories that much, maybe she should quit reading them.

Flamed?

My first story just posted and its a reluctance piece. I got hit for the kid being in the car, and the beast in the story. Nothing really nasty or unexpected so far though. Even the one that mentioned the beast also said it was written in well. Over all I am not complaining lol. Don't know if it will ever get the H or not.

I enjoyed writing it and working on it. Thats all that really matters to me.

seems like I mostly get flamed for moving outside the bounds of monogamy in my stories...

call it a personal failing...but I don't understand why someone that into the one-on-one dynamic is reading in the "Group Sex" category....

The same reason some people read cuckold when they don't like it? There's a reason that I don't read cuckold. I like Rob's theory on that. Some people get off on getting pissed off. Personally, I decided that I can do without the aggravation, so I don't read cuckold.

As for getting flamed, I've not had to be too extreme to get flamed. I got flamed for a gay incest story. I got flamed for having a pothead get amnesty and in the process ridicule the war on drugs (typical). I got flamed for having a BDSM story (why did the woman in question read a BDSM story that clearly involves male dom if she doesn't like male dom- see Rob's theory again, I think). I got flamed for doing a different version of the Christmas story. I got flamed for my protagonist's conduct during a story about deprogramming his sister from a cult that brainwashed. I got flamed for having golden showers in a story. I got flamed for having my character in one kinky incest story be a switch instead of a pure Dom and for not imposing a double standard on the women. What can I say? It doesn't take an extreme story to get flamed at all.

i say that to anti-choice folks, too-- if you oppose birth control, by all means don't use any. that doesn't seem to be the point. same with gun control. not about guns. about control.

i don't think you can automate the process of snarling at every story in a category that you disapprove of. this means that it will keep the doodahs occupied, laboriously filling in pc forms, one after the other. maybe while they sit at the desk and do that, they are sparing someone else the pain of enduring their company.

I got a flame on a story that I don't even consider to be extreme. It was on a story called Shutter Click, and I'm pretty sure the flame was about the voyeuristic aspect toward the end of it.

It went something like this...

"Totally creeped out, shuddering in revulsion."

There was a bit more but I can't remember what all it said. :D

I don't think I've ever written anything really extreme. Of course, I've gotten the normal flaming on loving wives story and one person was extremely put out that I wrote a LOTR story where Frodo and Sam became lovers.

Excellent point about the control.

We drew straws to choose who got to send that one. :)

I think I receive more flames from my interacial stories than my kinkier bits.

Odd you should say that. "A Bad Day" was about a black woman being raped by two white men. About 3/4 of the flame directed at me personally was, "Nigger Bitch!!"

I found it very odd. Obviously they hadn't looked at my profile.

*snicker*

I love that the poster spelled it "your." God, that makes my day. :D

I've never really gotten flamed much. I've had the opposite - a story I thought people would howl over, they all seemed to accept - but the only one I've been roundly castigated for was slammed for being experimental fiction. Evidently style annoys people more quickly than content. Gay incest, inter-species sex, and demonic rape they can handle, but they draw the line at stream-of-consciousness narratives.
