My goodness, is there anyone else out there who has experienced this euphoria that comes with finishing the first draft of a story?
As I wrote the sucker, I kept thinking, "This is the climax of the story. I'm almost done!" And then, I would realize that the story couldn't end there because it wouldn't make sense or the characters needed to develop more, or SOMETHING. The story was like this--this TUMOR growing on its own and sucking the life out of me in the process. Well, I am thrilled to say, I've cut that baby loose! All 37,593 words are with volunteer editors. I await their words of wisdom.
Whew! Now I can go back to my novel. <sighs>
