Well today was an exciting day at work...

It started at 11:00am with a fire drill. No big deal. Although it is a 52 story building...I'm on the 5th floor. We didn't even leave our floor, just stood by he stairway door, so there was really no point to the drill except for the fire inspector to see that all the strobes and alarm speakers were working. Lasted ten minutes.

Then after lunch someone jumped off the parking structure across the street. He landed right on the sidewalk in front of the exit. Now I park in that structure! So does everyone at the company I work for. The guy who owns the company also owns the building I work in and the parking structure across the street.

The poor soul who jumped, did so at around 1:00pm cst. By the time I left at 4:00pm cst the body was still on the sidewalk covered with a sheet.

Then on the way home there was an accident half way that had things backed up for miles. What a day.

BUT... on the bright side... you had a better day than the guy who jumped.

oh, man... what a day! so sorry it was terrible. :rose:

Thank you. :rose: It wasn't terrible...didn't know the person who jumped...at least I don't think I did. Haven't seen anything on the news yet about it.

BUT... on the bright side... you had a better day than the guy who jumped.

You're right about that. Although if you really think about it, he did have an exciting time right up until he hit the ground.

oh, Zeb... shaking my head at you... couldn't repress a chuckle though

:D

it was a full 12 stories -- at 12 feet a story -- that's 144 feet -- 32 feet per second per second -- he had about three or four seconds of excitement.

I wonder if he had a change of heart before he hit the sidewalk? That would have sucked.

Well it's said that the people in the parking structure on each of the floors he passed swore they head him say at each floor...

"So far, so good."

That's why he jumped...he knew the ground would catch him...although not quite that fast. :D

Still nothing on the news about this guy. The police must think that he was pushed or thrown off the deck or they haven't been able to notify next of kin.

The company even sent an email out that HPD was handling the investigation and nobody at the company had any further news. HR must have been inundated with question for that to happen.

When I hear anything I'll let y'all know.
