Ewwwww . . .

Fear into fascination, my ass! I hate those fucking things! That monster would get the business end of whatever blunt instrument I could lay my hands on if one ever showed up around me. Eeewww, indeed.

I think I love you....
On this, we're in complete agreement.
Well, that is to say that if it showed up around me I'd need you to get
that blunt instrument.. I surely wouldn't take care of it myself. :p :D hehe.

That's what us guys do...smash the creepy crawlies that frighten our women. ;)

Take it easy; Grandmother Spider is very nice, and a surprise meeting with her always means good luck.

Folkways be damned! If granny wants to live to see her grandkids, she better stay away from me...and a surprise meeting would be a guarantee of instant death. It's a visceral reaction with me...I feel the same way about roaches...see 'em, smash 'em. You make your own luck, it isn't conveyed to you by some eight legged horror.

I'll let her know how you feel, but don't forget, she has some pretty venomous relatives who might not care for your visceral attitude. And I'm rather fond of her myself; she sure helps out around the house.

I've taken out lots of her venomous relatives too. ;)

What do you do, hitch her to a vacuum cleaner or tie a dust rag to each of her eight legs? :D

I think spiders are gorgeous. :) I leave 'em be for the most part, unless they are doing the orb spider thing in the middle of a room-- and the venomous ones do give me the heebie-jeebies, like brown recluse, which we see around here, and black widows-- but the widows are so beautiful!

Tarantulas are most of them pretty easy-going and gentle-- and fragile too, because they are so heavy. If you drop one, the fall can crack its shell.

For some reason the spider has always inspired a primordial fear. The reality is that alot more people have died from snakes, jelly fish and even bee stings, than ever died from a spider's bite.

The funnel web spider and the black widow spider can be deadly, but large spiders like this one or the bird eating spider are not a danger to humans. A 1 inch fang does sound frightening though LOL

cute...

well, lately i do get scared of spiders though. i used to be more or less okay with them, but with the years got more nervous about them. might be from traveling to countries that have poisonous spiders (ours here aren't poisonous - though my mom tells me that as a baby once she couldn't figure out why i am crying, until she changed my diapers and found a spider inside there that had been biting me...)

Maybe we hate spiders because we come in contact with them more often.
When I take a shower, its more likely there will be one of those cellar dweller
spideys hangin in the corner than a jellyfish. ;):D

TE, you're my hero. *swoons*
