Evolution's Children (RP)

"Awp!" Rogue whinced as she slammed against the side wall then the floor, rubbing her head as she felt blood on her skin. Damn! She should've moved sooner on that...
She got to her feet, smirking as Nightcrawler gave a helping hand. Er, foot. Well, dang near everything. "I hear ya, Kurt...," She muttered, watching as he vanished, the reappeared every few seconds. She just needed an opening...

A quick glance to Logan to be sure he was alright- a rather useless thought, really, with his healing... but a concern in her mind nonetheless.

Gambit groaned as he slumped against the wall, his head ringing. He groaned and sat up to see Kurt and Sabretooth playing a deadly game of cat and mouse. He knew Nightcrawler couldn't keep it up for long. Grabbing a simple wooden chair he charged his energy into it. "Get outta dere Kurt!" He yelled as he hurled the bomb at Sabretooth, ducking to the ground and covering himself and Blink from the explosion.

Ducking away, Blink let out a squeak from the explosion but was safely tucked away by Gambit. When the smoke cleared they stood to there feet looking for any sign of Sabertooth's return. Blink new for certain an explosion like that wouldn't stop him and readied a javeline with energy in case she had to make a quick move. "Mr. Lebeau I do hope you understand that you only served to perhaps piss him off more." she breathed keeping her eyes trained on the smoke.

"Of course dearie, but it also gives us much needed ta regroup." He said, standing and brushing himself off, looking around to make sure that everyone around him was alright. Kurt was nowhere to be seen, but that was most likely a good sign rather than a bad. He coughed slightly, tossing a guilty smile to Rogue. "Sorry bout that Cherie, but I figured you'd be able to take it."

"Argh!!!"

Logan grabbed his face, yelling out in pain as he staggered backwards. Even then the wounds were sealing up and the blood thinned until it stopped flowing all together. His hands dropped away to reveal his face, unscathed and angry as hell.

He watched as Kurt bombarded the twisted maniac with dozens of punches and kicks in steady intervals. Then it hit him, and with a bit of a smirk he yelled to Kurt, getting his attention for a mere second as he pointed to the sky.

"Freefall!"

Kurt would know what to do and then once Creed was stunned from the impact of hitting the ground from over a mile high drop, Rogue could finish what she started. It seemed like a decent enough plan.

"Get ready Darlin'!"

Logan yelled to Rogue as he let his claws fly out once more, ready just incase something went wrong.

"Yer payin' fer that one later, Cajun." Rogue shot Gambit a look, though couldn't help but smile at him.

Logan's shout to her snapped her back to attention, nodding at his warning. She wouldn't make a mistake on it this time... But the only thing that worried her was if Victor would fall for the same trick twice...

One shot. A third one just wasn't going to happen.

She stood ready, both hands uncovered this time. She'd catch the bugger even if she had to hang off his damn head.

Nightcrawler could barely hear over the sound of the air being split apart by his teleportations. The good news was that he constant barrage of his attacks was keeping Sabertooth off guard and making his healing factor keep up with the blitz of strikes.

The bad news was that he couldn't possibly match the Creed's endurance. At best this would only slow him down.

"FREEFALL!"

Kurt's ears caught Logan's words clearly over the sound of the fight. A wide grin spread across his face as he reappeared for a moment to collect his strength. Sabertooth staggered back, finally able to move from the assault, his face twisted with rage and hate.

"Little elf freak!" He snarled and dove at Kurt with his claws out.

Nightcrawler only smiled and leapt foreword, his superior agility and reflexes allowing him to dodge by Sabertooth's claws, and grab hold of the feral mutant's shoulders.

*BAMF*

Suddenly the wind roared in their ears as Nightcrawler brought them up to his maximum distance...over 10,000 vertical feet in the air.

Coiling the muscles in his legs, Nightcrawler pushed off of Creed, hanging in mid-air before giving Sabertooth one last grin.

*BAMF*

Still caught in the speed of free fall, Kurt 'ported himself directly above the mansion's Olympic swimming pool. The water exploded up in a massive pillar of white water, as if it had been hit by an artillery shell, the water raining down all around.

Half the water gone, Kurt floated belly up, chuckling to himself. Sabertooth would be in freefall for a bit before Rogue intercepted him.

"Vell, at least I got breakfast first" He commented before crossing himself. "Amen"

Rogue watched the two as best she could, Kurt's movements hard to keep track of-
Even moreso as he vanished completely from sight, taking Sabertooth with him. "Where'd they..." She paused, looking up and catching sight of the large brute coming down from the sky.
Well, at least she had some time to ready for him this time.
She flexed her hands a bit, crouching down on the ground as she waited for him to come a bit more into range. Once she could finally make out the snarling mutant, she jumped up as well, flying above him and dropping onto his back. She grabbed about his neck, both hands plastered to his cheeks as she held to him. "I ain't gon' be bucked off so easy this time...," She growled at him, wrapping her legs about his waist.

Creed's eyes went wide as he suddenly began to freefall towards the mansion. One second he was getting bombarded by that little Elf kraut and the next...

The wind whipped around him violently and the sheer speed at which his metal bones and thick muscles fell was almost enough to cause him to black out. His arms swung out in circles as he plummeted, his savage claws and raw power utterly helpless against the simple force of gravity.

A bright flash shot past him and he felt extra weight on his body.

A pair of female hands pressed tight to his face while two strong legs coiled around his waist, squeezing like a snake. Sabertooth growled and reached a clawed hand back at the annoying pest.

Suddenly he felt it.

All his strength, his ferocity, his raw animal power was all been slowly drained out of him. The veins in his face stuck out as his eyes began to roll back in his head. The world faded, and dropped into blackness as he lost conciousness.

OOC: Heh, took the whole team.

Jake stopped before he stepped off the property. He turned back and looked at the great house he could still hear sounds of a fight coming from. He shook his head and started back toward the house. He couldn't run now, just because he wasn't welcomed with open arms to some girls bed. If he did, he'd never live it down. He stopped by the pool and sat by the table and just waited out the battle.

"Don't be fightin' it, sugar..." Rogue grinned as she held to him, his powers running from his flesh into her own body, then smirk on her face slowly fading into a daze. His powers were a lot to handle in one shot- and she had gone for a two handed grab on him... She gave a pained shout as the flow from their contact raced through her, trying to pull her hands away.
The contact finally broke as they hit the ground, Sabertooth causing a rather big dent as she rolled from his back with a groan. "I got 'em, Logan...," She said softly, then passed out herself from the shock of the transfer.

Jack raised an eyebrow, shaking his head, then helped Rogue to her feet. "What a mess. When you said you guys play rough, you weren't kidding." He examined the down and out Sabertooth, and shook his head. "Who in their right mind would do this to someone?"

Moving through the rubble and heading toward Sabertooth, Blink knelt before her mentor looking him over from head to toe. He looked decidely different but the similarities where there. Sighing she turned to the other's wrapping an arm about herself. Sabertooth was not part of her mission and therefore she knew the danger was not severe. Still... "What about clean up? This place is a mess."

"Well now, what do we have here?"

The voice rang out from above them. It was an older tone, but strong and proud. Logan and the others looked to the sky to see a long red cape flowing around two forms. As they lowered towards the mansion, it became clear who they were. One was Mystique, a mutant with the ability to change her shape and form to any she desires. The other was Magneto, a mutant with the ability to control metal and bend it to his will.

"A picnic...and we weren't invited. How rude."

Eric set Mystique down as his boots touched the grass of the campus. He let the cape fall over his strong shoulders as he rested his arms behind his back. He did not bring the helmet with him, it was to be a sign of trust as they were not here to engage in any sort of primitive combat.

"You still aint invited bub. Leave."

Wolverine walked right up to the taller man, claws released as he growled behind his teeth. He glared up at him, only inches from his face. Eric could only roll his eyes at the display.

"Despite what you may believe, I am only here to see my old friend and exchange some very important information.

That said he nodded to Mystique and lifted off of the ground headed over the mansion to the other side. He eventually found his way to Charles' office and let himself in, closing the door behind him.

Back outside, Wolverine sneared at the woman in blue. He knew that Magneto could have floored him at any time. The simple fact that he didnt let him to believe that he wasnt here for a fight. Maybe he did find something. Hopefully it could help more than hurt.

It was later in the evening now. Charles had canceled the classes for the day and brought in an entire construction and landscaping crew to repair the mansion. It was off seeing all of these human faces around the campus with that glazed over look in their eyes. Charles kept them from realizing exactly where they were and what they saw.

The Professor was still in his office with Magneto. It must be important for them to still be in there after so long. Charles had put out a psychic message telling all of the students and teachers that Magneto and Mystique were no threat to them and that they'd be staying at the mansion for a few days.

Logan had taken Rogue to her room to rest after the fight while Kurt and Storm rounded up the children. He moved through the halls of the mansion, puffing away on his cigar. He shed the rags from the morning and was now wearing a pair of faded blue jeans, ripped at one knee and a simple blue t-shirt with a yellow X symbol on the left side.

He eventually made his way to the kitchen were he had a sandwich and a rootbeer. Most of the students had gone to bed for the night and the workers had gone home as well. Something was definatly off, he could feel it down to his bones...like someting big was brewing.

Jack shivered slightly, as he watched the man in purple armor walk into the mansion. He could feel the sheer power of the man. This guy must have some power related to plasma, he thought. The demeanor of the man was calm. Too calm, Jack thought, as he walked into the kitchen to see Wolverine eating a sandwich. "Who was that guy? I could feel him. It was unlike any person I've ever been near. Incredible, such power." He collapsed into a chair, visibly shaken.

Mystique had only smiled at Logan's snarls, snapping her teeth at him as she walked around Magneto. The berzerker was a fun one to play with... But Eric had made her swear to behave. Damn. She would keep her word, no matter how frustrating it may be.

Hours seemed to pass as he stayed in that room, Mystique growing bored as time went on. She knew the meeting was important, the subject something that all mutants needed to be aware of... but she still didn't like the idea of having to be in the same house as these sickening traitors to their kind. Perhaps she could have some fun with them... She wandered outside, looking for something that could be of interest to her.

------------

Rogue awoke later in the evening, sitting up in her bed as she shook from the memories drained from Victor with his powers. The abilities, thankfully, had left some time ago, his healing factor helping greatly with the scrapes and cuts she had gotten from that landing with him earlier. Memories, however... took a bit more to get rid of.

Slipping from the bed, she started downstairs and to the kitchen, finding Logan and Jack there. "Hey y'all...," She mumbled out, still a bit out of it. "Not sure which'a ya did it... but, ah.. thanks fer bringin' me t' my room." She got a bottle of water from the fridge, pausing as she saw Mystique walking outside the windows. "Am I seein' things? Er was that...?" She glanced to Logan and Jack, blowing out a frustrated breath as she heard Jack's question. "Explains it there. Magneto's here an' brought his pet with 'um."

Blink had hoped to sneak to the kitchen for a late snack. Just blink herself in and fix a sandwhich then blink herself out. But when she did drop in she was met with three sets of eyes. Rough, Logan and Jack... "Drat." she muttered but didn't mind it so much. Supposidly she just wasn't in the mood for chit chat oh well.

Going to the fridge she went about fixing that snack ignoring the others for the time being while she made preperations. She knew about Magneto enough not to really be too concerned of his presence. Though it was odd to find that he and Rogue were not an item... she giggled.

Strange

Strange returned to the mansion to find it in ruins. His eyes widened in surprise as he descended into the courtyard and inquired as to the nature of the destruction with the first tudent he saw. "Sabretooth..." Strange sighed as he looked at Storm. "It would appear there was no small level of excitement while we were away." He frowned, but everything seemed to be under control. "Ms. Munroe, I feel I must go check on my personal effects and have a meeting with the Professor..." He frowned slightly, mulling over the events, and sensing the presence of Magneto in the compound, odd things were afoot, especially when he considered what Mian had told him about the Orb... a grave danger might be headed for Earth, but Strange was not prepared to discuss it until he had had a chance to examine certain things. He bowed to Storm and walked off.

Logan raised a brow as the kid asked about Magneto.

"You been livin' under a rock son? That's Magne--"

Wolverine stopped when he saw Rogue come down, he nodded to her as she entered, taking a sip of his drink.

"Even' Darlin...and yer welcome."

Logan's cigar was sitting on the edge of the table and as yet another face appeared before them he decided to put it out, realizing it wasnt going to be a calm night. He should have guessed from the excitement of the day that no one would be ready to sleep just yet.

"As I was sayin', that's Magneto the so called 'Master of Magnetism'. He could level this whole place if he wanted."

He looked back over to Rogue, running a hand through his hair and scratching the back of his neck.

"It seems theres somethin' big goin' down. He's still in there with the Professor."

"Shoulda guessed it wouldn't be a social visit," Rogue sighed, settling down at the table as she took a long drink from her bottle, staring off into nothing. Her head was still a wreck. So Logan had brought her in... She should have guessed that. Rough 'n' tough exterior, though still thought himself a guardian to some of the team. She saw right through him sometimes.

"I don't much like them wanderin' our place like that," She grumbled out suddenly, the bottle hanging limply from her fingers. "Creeps me right out, then walkin' our home like its a museum er somethin'. I ain't in no damn zoo for her tah be gawkin' at." She still held a very strong anger towards Mystique for her younger years.

Jack thought for a moment, then nodded, and turned to look out the window. He himself now understood who the guy was, and why this was cause for concern. He wondered if this had something to do with his reasons for showing up there. So many strange occurences. He stretched, then looked at them. "I have a bad feeling about this. Why would someone with that kind of power visit here?"

Rogue frowned, resting her head against the bottle as she sighed. "Cuz he 'n' Charles... they're friends, in a roundabout sorta way anymore. Might not have the same typa thinkin' on the world, but they still do get along on some stuff."
Her frown grew the more she thought about it. "Somethin' real major. Somethin' that could effect all mutants..." She gave a look to Logan. "Jus' like you said..."

"As much as I dispise your little group, Eric insisted this information be brought to Xavier...," Mystique said flatly from the doorway, having worked her way inside. "You're right. There is something big about to happen, that means a big issue for all of us..." She looked back off into the hall, her words lingering a moment. "If Magneto is scared of it.... you should all be terrified."

Nightcrawler perched atop of the banister on the balcony overlooking Magento and Mystique. The German mutants bright yellow eyes were focused intently on the blue skinned woman. It was so strange to see her here like this.

"Mother" he murmmered to himself, barely auidble. She looked as young as him, a benifit of shapeshifting no doubt, but her eyes told her story. Her eyes that were so similar to his own.

Flicking his tail behind him a few times, he kept a watch on the two Brotherhood arrivals. Between them and Sabertooth, the mansion had many unwelcome guests today.

"Concerned. I'm concerned about it. Nothing more."

Eric said as he stepped up behind Mystique. His cold eyes peered into the room, surveying all of those within. He noticed Logan setting his bottle down and tensing up as if preparing for something. A bit of a chuckle escaped his lips as the older man moved past his partner into the kitchen.

Logan huffed a bit and put his things away, pushing past Magneto and walking away down the hallway. Eric rolled his eyes and looked to the others within the room.

"She is right about one thing. This will affect every single mutant in the world...the matter at hand, is how it will be delt with when the time comes."

Eric sighed, crossign his arms over his chest.

"But I'll leave the details for your dear Professor to tell you."

That said he turned, his cape billowing out as he left the room.

"Come my dear, we have our own things to attend to."

Blink watched with decided interest as Magneto made his exit. He was hardly different from the Magneto she knew, though perhaps in views of the world he still had that superior demeanor that commanded a crowd even if they didn't realize it. She stood near the window watching him closely, it was inspiring being around him in this light.

She said nothing as she bit into her sandwhich and headed out into the hall. There she came in contact with Nightcrawler. "Hello friend." she offered noting his glazed expression. "Are you ill?"
