Hey everyone...

I was reading over these lists when my husband came in and started reading them (over my shoulder...grrrr), too. He started making comments like, "Oh...that guy MUST be old."

Since I already know how old a couple of you are...I asked him to guess the ages of the people who have posted here based on their musical choices, and he came pretty damn close (to the ones I knew, anyway).

Here are his guesses:

Hurley International--26
Lasher--30
Laurel--29
Xander--28
Svedish_Chef--26
SammyJo--38
High Peaks--42
Wizard--40
Magic Merlin--43
Creamy Lady--35
Hecate--36
Lusty Wench--35
Shannon--23

I just found this interesting and thought it would be fun to share. I'd love to know if he was way off on any of you. You people listen to some really cool shit!

ROCK ON!

LL

(Hecate...I was really surprised to see the name Ritchie Blackmore...he was one of my main influences when I was learning to play electric guitar. Too cool!

I am currently listening to:
New Model Army
Sisters of Mercy

Top bands:
Joy Division
New Model Army( They never got the US exposure they deserved)
Bad Religion
Midnight Oil (Love the Oils)
Social D
OLD REM
OLD U2
Plus various Celtic and New Age artists(I'll admit it, I like Enya)
and all kinds of Punk rock.

Have to say that most of the new stuff coming out is garbage. The music industry has really taken a turn for the worse. Very few bands are given the chance to develop. The push is to sell a ga-zillion records the first time out. So all we are getting are a bunch of one hit wonders. Not very good for long term development. Now there can not be another U2 or REM. Those bands didn't hit their strides till their third albums(yes albums, those 12 inch black cd's. Today's industry would not stand for that. Even bands that went gold are dropped. Oh well I'll shut up now.

lmao That was good I said it today to my wife in our van the same thing you can tell there ages by the music they listen too.

Well WTF 40? close but not that close 33 is the winning number.

Thanks hubby of LL.........lol

Hey MM you old boy you....lol

OMG!!!! 38???????????????????
eek.gif

sheesh....I'm only 26!!!!!

I knew I was getting old, but I didn't know I had aged that rapidly. Plus, I knew I was born a decade (or more) too late. I mean, The Eagles, The Beatles, all those rockin' 60's groups!!!
cool.gif

Ok, enough, I'm seriously going to have to dye my hair now, I'm sure the age is showing there too...not hard with a 5 year old zipping around the house.

You calling Donnie a Jag off, Wizard?? You keep that up and you ain't gonna get nothing from no Giant Eagle.

Hmm Odd I too am listening to
Sisters of Mercy ohh that's right you installed in into our cd-thankd Dionysus-kisses-

Okay my tastes in music, weird and diverse like me... and in no particular order...
Love and Rockets
Santana
Live
Paul Simon
Tangerine Dream
Enya
Kiva(MD thing-pagan music)
Shadow Drake(Pagan drum circle thing)
Lorenna Mckennit(sp??)
Squirrel Nut Zippers

And I will come clean here,...oh my god- time for a confession...I love the Tim Rice recording of Jesus Christ Superstar...I also love Judy Garland, all Judy...I actually know songs from Cats...Alright already I love Westside Story...(I think I may actually be a gay man)

LOL, earthgoddess. I think I mentioned on another post here that my wife and I went and saw "Cabaret" last night (speaking of Gay Men...). And I'll admit it, I dig the whole Broadway show deal. As much as I would like to be cool, I probably listen to "Phantom", "Les Mis" and my Sinatra discs more than any thing else right now (You gotta love Sinatra...).

Too cool...love Old Blue eyes...best friends live in Hoboken(hometown for Frank) great driving music, especially for Turnpike driving...maybe we are both gay men Lasher...hhmm wouldn't that surprise our spouses...
