Everyday friends with benefits

I quite often hear women refer to their gfriend as a make out friend, etc and often wondered if there are a lot of women out there that have everyday girlfriends that they also have sex with now and then?

Also on reading a lot of literotica stories and forums I have come across a lot of stories about men that have had the odd experience from time to time. How prevalent is it with the men?

Well... I've had plenty of female friends who were FWB. (It's fun within limits, but it actually becomes a difficult situation when one party becomes more attached than the other, which almost inevitably happens.) .

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that guys with casual "make-out friends" among guys are virtually unheard-of or at least very reluctant to admit to it even online, in North America at a minimum. It seems to me that hetero masculine culture is much more violently hostile to -- and in deep denial about -- that kind of casual experimentation than "straight" culture among women is. Where casual experimentation occurs among guys -- I've some peripheral experience, commensurate with probably being about a 1 on the Kinsey Scale -- it tends to be with strangers whom you never meet again, or friends with whom it happens once and you never speak of it again.

This is because very often you're taking an extremely serious risk even in these seemingly more tolerant times. The moreso in some area codes than others; I grew up in a city where as late as the Nineties (and probably later) it was still relatively commonplace for bored groups of teenage dudes to go out literally gaybashing as a way to pass the time.
