I thought this was about a motorcycle club..

On a local radio interview, the adult "ZuZu" was answering questions from a town about 20 minutes away. (Carnation, WA.) I didn't know she lived up this way, maybe she's visiting relatives. Anyway, she said Jimmy Stewart was the same type of person as George Baily was in the movie. She relayed a lot of trivia about how the movie was a bust in the boxoffice, so eventually, the television system could get it for nothing, so they would play it over and over, making it an expected holiday tradition. :D

"Daddy daddy! Teacher says every time a gas cap is found an angel gets it's wings!"

"Your teacher's fulla snot!"

Obscure nerd reference. Don't worry about it.

They had a hideously colorized version done a few years back. AGH! Keep it the way it was! Adding color doesn't always make it better! Poor Capra must've been spinning in his grave to see it colorized!

I'm all for the ORIGINAL vision & version of the movie. Wonderful flick!

Watch for the origin of the Sesame Street characters' names too. Jim Henson got the names for Bert & Ernie from this flick.

I can never see it in color......the black and white is
more dramatic for this movie........esp. when coupled
w/ the emotions of George Bailey and what he goes
through.......

Screw colorization.

I'm a big fan of the "lost ending" discovered about 15 years ago on SNL. Uncle Billy (Phil Hartman) remembers it was Mr. Potter (Jon Lovitz) who stole the money. So, George (Dana Carvey) leads a mob to Potter's house, and he, Mary (Jan Hooks) and Harry (Dennis Miller) proceed to beat the shit out of Mr. Potter, as the rest of the characters sing Auld Lang Syne. Friggin' hilarious.

awww, I just love that film. It's just not Christmas for me without it. Thankfully the BBC will be showing it tomorrow, at 5 or something like that.

I always wanted to marry a man who was part George Bailey and part Bruce Springsteen. I got pretty lucky :D

My favorite line: "You call this a happy family? Why'd we have to go and have all these kids, anyway?"

Also worthy of note: The cop and the cabdriver's names are Bert and Ernie. Jim Henson was also a big fan of this film.
