graceanne said:I guarantee they wouldn't let you take that on any planes in the US. They won't even let you take juice or water on a plane.
catalina_francisco said:Things have changed a lot since my last trip, but yes, when we went to the US they even viewed my first name with suspicion because they had never heard it before so had a lot of extra questions for me as to why I was visiting...and our luggage was searched specially both going in and out of the country....and they wonder why I am not in a hurry to go back despite wanting to see some really cool places and people there. Of course, if we went now things might be vastly different given F's work and status...might even welcome us with open arms.![]()

EmpressFi said:first time I flew to see Master, I had cuffs, paddle, rope and a cane in my suitcase.. I was surprised when I arrived to NOT find the little note that they'd searched my bag...
however... they nabbed it on my way back..
Reminded me that a friend of mine used to travel with one suitcase of clothes, another smaller suitcase (which he checked) of toys. A few months after he and I were "intimate friends"... I met up with him at a party and we were talking in the corner and he leans in with this wicked grin he had and said, "my bag got searched." I was confused, because it came out of nowhere. Then I remembered, he'd brought a date with him to this weekend gathering... and I said, "You didnt bring THAT bag did you?" He just grinned again. I never could see that smile and not laugh..but yeah.. after that..every time he traveled.. his bags were opened... every time..
Yang4yin said:I guess I'm just unlucky, but when I've travelled with "toys," I've had both my carry-on and checked luggage inspected while I was present. One particularly interesting interchange took place prior to boarding in Canada... apparently the security agent was new on the job and wasn't sure if my rope was legal or not, so she held it up over her head and waved it while yelling to her supervisor to get a second opinion. I got quite a few stares.
And when the Customs Inspector in the same airport asked if I was there for business or pleasure, the instant he opened my checked luggage he smiled and answered the question himself.
I'm not sure if the TSA employee at Minneapolis-St. Paul believed that I needed the Hitachi Magic Wand to massage my lower back after long flights.

We got nailed in Cincinnati.
_kiana_ said:We've never had anything taken off of us that way, but if you try to take something in carry on that could in any way be 'suspicious' it will just be confiscated. And you never get to see it again. So checked is just safer.
Yeah.. if I still had it.. I'd scan it in for you.. it's a little pamphlet from TSA that says they opened your suitcase and searched it along with a number to call if something is damaged or missing...graceanne said:They leave a 'your luggage has been checked' thing? Then my checked luggage has never been . . . checked. LOL Carry on stuff gets checked about half the time I fly, which really doesn't mean that much. I've only flown three times (to SC and back and to Oakland) since 9/11. On the other hand I just packed my vibrator which looks like a . . . vibrator. *gasp* They probably could tell what it was when it went through x-ray and weren't worried. If they couldn't, the batteries next to it would have clued them in.
