well ---------
I have been a writer since I figured out how.
I never really thought about it... I would have spates of daily writing - for three or four months (or weeks or days)... Then nothing for years......
literally years... little snippets, tiny poesies.... all my creative energy demanded direction elsewhere...
Then I went an opened my own site... I had to create it from the blank page up. the painting bug bit me... the posting bug bit me.. 7 years flew by -
then I sat down one day and wrote a book in seven days. Then painting drove right up that vacated spot and parked for two years.... then another book came running out of my head convoluted twisted up POV complete book of fantasy fiction... three weeks spread over three months... Then another painting bug - and only a page or two of the written word....
Now ten years have passed and my visual and writing hasnt rested for a year and a half...
I get freaked a bit when I cant seem to write... and then get freaked if I cant paint.... and then lose it when I cant find the perfect silk or linen or velvet for garb that I am designing.... etc etc...
And lately I have been doing both writing and electronically painting (theres a concept for the technologically disinclined, moi to be precise)....And oh god damnit cant I ever focus on ONE thing? picking out linings, trims, beads and baubles for the Renaissance Faire this fall... and remodeling my home... all creative but not writing....
But still... the dry spells can be a bit nerve wracking.... sometimes its something as simple as having a wonderful intimate evening with the SO - that gets the juices running again and others its timely insight from others in the same field...
The main thing is this... if you arent writing are you creating in any other way?
sometimes our muse needs time to gather "information" to bring back into the written word.....
