Every Had One Of Those...Weeks?

Well, the new Literotica server has now been replaced by another server - at least, temporarily. Something in the system - something Evil, something Dark, something Foreboding, and something Very Annoying - is giving us fits. In our brilliance, we added a new server at the same time we moved hosting facilities and upgraded the Member Area. Now we're playing Guess Where The Damn Bug Is. It's kinda like that smash-the-gopher-with-a-hammer game they have over at Chuck E. Cheese, only infinitely more fun.

I apologize for the shenanigans, and I'm sure it'll be worked out before too long. I'm not sure if many of you have noticed, but our connection to the Internet is actually faster at the new place. The speed increase should be all that much more apparent when the site decides to stay up for more than a few hours at a time.

Thanks also to everyone who emails with moral support when the poo hits the fan. You all rock! And a very special thank-you to the anonymous person who calls us "idiots" and "assholes" and threatens to boycott the site every time the server crashes. We appreciate your support most of all!

I'd better get back to whacking that gopher...

As frustrating as it may be, we understand. Computers just decide to be finicky, tempermental, difficult...

I'm gonna get shelled for this, but they're very much like women. Just when you think you have them figured out, they change their minds and the rules, so you're stuck back at square one.

No need to worry about us, and if we're loyal, we won't care how long it takes because this is still one of the best places on the net to share ideas, stories, and most of all, fun. And to those that want to boycott: Please Do! It'll be better for the rest of us!

you think you are having problems with servers and stuff on here? i wish i could tell you about the problems i am having at work with their new work system and computer program....there are so many bugs in this system that they have sent us 5 programers to try and straighten the thing out.
we figure it will be at least another 6-8 months before all the bugs are out of the system.
i would say you and Manu are doing a great job.

that you're talking to the former 4th grade Westminster Elementary champion of Chuck E. Cheese Whack-A-Mole. I hereby volunteer my uncanny reflexes for flattening rodents emerging from holes with a paddle to you, Manu, and all my literotica brethren.

However, if this particular form of whack-a-mole requires the least amount of computer knowledge, I'm afraid I won't be of much help. Still, if you decide to give up on fixing the server and would like someone to whack it with a large mallet, once again, I volunteer my services.

Hi everyone,

Because of some compatibility problems, we had to switch out our new server for an older and slower - but more stable - machine. The result is that the BB is running a slower than we'd all like it to be, but nothing's crashing. We expect to have a faster server in place sometime tomorrow. Thanks for your patience, and please let me know if you have any specific problems.
