But in the morning light you look at them and go "What the Hell was I thinking?"

I call them vampire ideas.
They just can't stand the light of day.

Happens to me all the time I have a story that I was working on last night. I blame lethargy (or the fact that I was tipsy but lethargy sounds so much better.)

nice AV seasparks :)

God yeah. I've half written stories and in the morning laughed.

Well, they looked good at the time :)

They're the stories I put in the story ideas forum. Most I'd love to rework, but who's got the time with kids?

I still have one I have to research. Anyone know any good sites to research digging up ancient artifacts? Or, religious cults?

I'm working on one called curse of the crucifix, so it has to be A.D.

And yes, it was an insomnia inspired idea ;)

~nods~ Yeah, I get those a lot.

And that is a really great av. If you have a full-size pic of that, could you post it as an attachment, please? :)

Nice, seasparks.

I can imagine you sitting on the shore howling at the moon :prunning away now........>>>>>>>>>

I had my worst story ideas the night I read 'The Elixir of Life' by Bulwer-Lytton (He of 'It was a dark and stormy night...'

Most of my early hours scribbles lead nowhere.

I seem to do my best work in the middle of the night. I'll wake up at 2:00 and can't sleep, so I'll go and sit at the computer. Prtty soon the finger are going to town and I don't even know what I'm typing. The next day I'll read through it and say, "Hey, howed THAT happen?"

Like Dranoel my best work comes at night. It's quieter then with everyone sleeping, pretty much guarenteed the phone won't ring, no one will be knocking at the door either and I can think uninterrupted. Writing during the day is almost impossible for me.

Wicked:kiss:

I hate when that happens, because I'm too tired to commit the idea to paper and then It takes days to get it back.

I get story ideas that verifiably are great in the middle of the night. I just can't write them up when it comes to the morning. I know exactly what I wanted to say, but the flow of words has just stopped.
