Lilith was a true woman, not made from a man. She was a creature within herself. Discuss.

Be I dersit
Be I buggery
I comes up from Weerum

I knows a girl wih cellico drawers
And I knows how to tear 'em

My ex's email name was lillith. I should've known then and walked away.

sigh...

"Adam insisted that Lilith always "lie below him" -- that is, always be on the bottom during sex. When Lilith complained and got no sympathy from Adam or help from God, she 'called the Holy Name of the Creator' and flew away. "

Lilith is a myth. She didn't exist.

Eve was created because it wasn't right for Adam to live in the world alone. Neither Adam nor Eve were complete without each other because they were created to work together and to complement each other pefectly.

Adam and Eve could be a myth, too.

Isaiah 34:14f
Wildcats shall meet with hyenas,
goat-demons shall call to each other;
there too Lilith shall repose,
and find a place to rest.
There shall the owl nest
and lay and hatch and brood in its shadow

Lilith was an important character in The Chronicles of Narnia books....Excellent reads, if a bit filled with christian propaganda.

Are you kidding? It's a poorly-disguised Christ story.

That's entirely possible. I don't believe that it is, but I'm willig to admit that it's a possibility.

Isa 34:14 (KJV)
The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest.

;)

Both the Narnia stories and the Fellowship of the Ring are christian alegorys. Supposebly one of the reasons Tolkien wrote the books was because he though C.S. Lewis, a friend of his, did not do a good enough job with The Chronicles of Narnia.

Don't forget the unnamed woman either Myst... ;) The one Adam couldn't stand, cause she saw all her innards...

Neil Gaiman is GOD!

Supposedly the word Lilith was changed to something else... I was looking into this very thing about a month ago...

According to my bible:

Isaiah 34:14
Desert creatures will meet withhyenas,
and wild goats will bleat to each other;
there the night creatures will also repose
and find for themselves a place of rest

When you contribute something meaningful to the conversation, I'll be nicer.

I wasnt being mean. My bible says something different...the same thing as Jim and Juspars. Thats why I asked the question.
