Less than a week to go, and Lou said in another thread:

"I wouldn't mind if we started The Thread sooner rather than later, I am so excited already!"

So, here it is. :D

Euro2004. Said to be far more competitive than the World Cup with 16 top teams from all over Europe, divided into 4 groups. The first 2 of each group will go on to the quarter-finals, and then it's knock-out all the way to the final, on the 4th of July.

Group A
- Portugal
- Greece
- Spain
- Russia

Group B
- France
- England
- Switzerland
- Croatia

Group C
- Sweden
- Bulgaria
- Denmark
- Italy

Group D
- Czech Republic
- Latvia
- Germany
- Netherlands

6 days to kick-off. Who will you be rooting for? :D

Here's an idea!

Let's all enter the Predictor Game - it's fun and we can win prizes n stuff.

I'm registering and entering my form as I type this, so you just follow my instructions. :D

1. You need to register here in order to play. All they ask for is your first and last name (doesn't need to be your real one if you have no intention of collecting prizes, I suppose ;)), a username, an email address, and a date of birth.

2. Check your email and follow the link they provide to confirm registration.

3. After you're registered, go to the Predictor Game home page and login. Answer no, no, and hell no to the questions about authorizing emails being sent to you, and then hit "I agree".

4. Now you're in the PREDICTIONS page. There are 8 matches, and for each of them you must predict who will be the winner or if there will be a draw by clicking on one of the three little squares

5. One match can be declared as a joker (double points) by clicking on the fourth square.

6. Select from the drop-down menu how many goals will be scored on those 8 matches.

7. Hit "Submit".

Take a deep breath. :D

8. There are four links in red and gold right above your predictions' table and below the Predictor Game banner: PREDICTIONS - LEAGUES - PRIZES - TOURNAMENT PREDICTOR. Go to LEAGUES.

9. You can, if you want, join a 'Public League' or a 'Favourite Team League', but the one thing I want you to do is join a Private League - namely the one I just started for us. ;) It's called the "Literotica League" and to join it, you just need to put the code 1162101@_193185 in the appropriate field and hit "Join League":D

And while we're at it,

10. Go to TOURNAMENT PREDICTOR and use the drop-down menus to choose what you think will be the final group standings, the quarter-finals, the semis, and the final. :D

Hi Lauren.

Been there, done that. (I'm Patricia).

I think that's quite a spot on list of predictions.

I did predict England to win, though, but that's just my blind patriotic faith.

(I bet most people here have never even heard of the offside rule. ;) )

LOL!

Thank you, sweetie! You'll have to start learning the chants. Sing with me...

"Vindaloo, vindaloo, vindaloo, vindaloo, la la. And we all like vindaloo. ENGLAND!" :D

Or something like that.

Loulou

Cool, sounds rather Valkyrien. P. :)

Lou
Thanks for reminding me, Vindaloo... that traditional English delicacy, so easy to chow down with a hot buttered muffin.

PS Ignore the sign below, nothing to do with me.

Apparently, though, lasagne is the new vindaloo. Go figure!

(Don't worry, "Lou" is also a spider/human hybrid).

Lou

P.S. Perdita, that's one way of putting it. :D

Does that mean we have to back the Italians?

PS Need an extra leg? Foot? Got 6 to spare.

They were actually pretty spot on, and you chose England to win! Whoop! :D

Yep, good choices, yours have got as much chance of being correct as mine, and I follow the game in Europe very closely!

Although, I must add, I think it's a pretty sure thing that France will be in the mix, up to at least the semi-final stage and probably the final.

Nah, that would never happen! :D

P.S. Ok, go on then. I could do with something else to munch on. :p
